I agree with the first reply. Its guys like this (and I’m one of them) women completely overlook. Talented, reasonably good looking, even charismatic (in our own way) before our talents are on display. But once the talent blooms, its Damn, lets get at ‘em. Bug guess, what. It seems a little unattractive at that point because you can’t reconcile why you werent appreciated all the time time you were right up in the midst of things.

Its then that guys like John Legend open up those doors that weren’t as open to them before - women of other groups. They do so consciously, knowing their talent chiefly barges the door open. And sometimes, yes, love does blossom. but not always. Its only a little naive when some of us to often think that we’re liked for the personality beyond the talent.

Women basically need to upgrade the art of conversation with guys in general. learn how to figure out motivation and dreams and potential and work ethic in a man and, most importantly, learn how to take down contact information so that you can refer that possibly good man to a lady who may need one. Someone will have refined their art to recognize the value in that man. With all that you said, i often wonder how these men truly feel…….it must feel like crap to know that this woman is only interested in me because of who i am now at this point in the game, and this very same woman would never have even held a conversation with me before the fame. I wonder how John and others like him, can go out in public and hold their head high wih these knowledge, knowing this woman probably don’t even enjoy having sex with me, she probably don’t really think my jokes are funny, and i probably disgust her deep down……i wonder how these men actually sleep at night with this knowledge….do they fool themselves after a while, thinking it’s actually their looks, their personality that this woman is attracted to? What a huge pill to swallow.

When i read your post, i couldn’t help but think of this outing i had….I was dating this guy last year, and i must admit he wasn’t normally my type. He was sort of short, about 5′9″, and usually i strictly date tall men…but this guy was short, no real personality (our phone conversations were brutual), but he pursued me relentlessly…he even told his friends i was his dream girl. I got approached at events by his friends and their wives; they wanted to make sure i was really into him for him, and not for his lonnnnnnngggggg money (did i mention he’s balling outta control?) Even though it annoyed the hell outta me, i thought it was so cool that they wanted to make sure he wasn’t going to get hurt.

Bottom line was this…i told him from the gate he wasn’t really my type. I didn’t even like having conversations with him, cause with all his money, you can tell he wasn’t use to having conversations, and that he normally dated airheads! Even though he was really smart, his vocabulary wasn’t that big, i got alot of smiles and one liners from him….I went out with him cause my friends say i am too hard on men, that a man’s height shouldn’t really matter, and that even though you might not like him in the beginning, you have to give him a chance….go out a few times, talk to him……

Well that didn’t work! I was bored out of my mind when we were alone….I ended it, and all my friends thought once again, i was being overly pickly….just wow.

The kicker is that he had to have known i wasn’t really into him. I even told him and he said he didn’t care, that i was who he wanted…he kept me busy too, he always had somewhere for us to go, tickets i could never get, and things i couldn’t pay for….the basketball games were always skybox events, everywhere we went we got into vip even though he’s not a celebrity, private events and showings my ass would have had to stand out in the cold with my best outfit on, trying to convince the bouncer to let me in( i worked sometime)……i gotta admit it was fun, but i just coudn’t leep it up. The pressure was alot. He wanted me to meet his parents, and he took me to his lil godson’s b-day party. I could see he was trying to quickly incorporate me into the family. His friends were leary though (im guessing some trick really took advantage of him in the past), and they didn’t like that he bought me gifts all the time. He was very close to these friends, he grew up with them since he was 5, and they all grew up on the same block, and they tell each other everything, which i didn’t like. They knew about every damn gift he bought me.

LOL…i went to one event, and it was a fundrasier/aunction, and i saw this one chick there to put me in the mind of myself….attractive young regal refined looking girl with good taste….but she had diamonds that were gleaming all the way from her table to mine, and i looked and saw who she was with (OMG, laughable), and we both looked at each other, and we kindda smirked and laughed….it was as if she was thinking the same thing i was thinking, “you milking his ass too.” lol…..of course i wasn’t, i don’t have the heart to do that….
