I don’t care what anybody says, Conde is an awesome woman. She is smart, successful, powerful and talented and we shouldn’t hate on her just because she was hired by Bush. And her new haircut is fabulous.

They’re not saying Condi is glamorous. But you have to admit, she’s a trail blazzer in her own right. You may not agree with her republican beliefs, but you gotta admit she wasn’t afraid to be herself and a voice for what she believed in. She was an african american Sec. of National Security (or something like that). You gotta respect her awesomeness for that.

@17, i know, she’s not in touch with her people, i don’t like her, she seems snoody and uppity to me, she knows the great disadvantges black americans/women face in this world, she should have been more vocal in helping little black girls realize that they to have a voice and that they can aspire to be anything, go to schools, inner cities and spread that message.

Tyra is towering over Mr. Bloomberg.
Hillary is so Got damn ugly.
Fergie performing? They obviously couldn’t get in contact with any other singer, talker (Rihanna)..in the industry.

Lola and Soledad are soooooooooo incredibly smart. Love them! Hillary is a woman I admire as well…And of course Condoleezza. America - America’s a perfect role model. So that’s everyone save Tyra and Selita, huh? Yeah - no accident. Tyra’s pathologically insecure..that every interview should be about her is pathetic. Who’s watching this giant? And Selita’s just overrated in every respect, honestly.

It is not Condoleeza’s job to bare the burden of all black women, or black americans. I saw her buying shoes during katrina also- but she’s secretary of state- dealing with foreign affairs, not domestic ones! Instead of holding leading blacks accountable for all black americans- we should instead look at their achievements and aspire to be just as great! Where they are no longer the exception- but the norm. I therefore dont expect her to visit inner city schools- but for inner city parents to turn on the tv and allow their lil girls to see her in all of her excellence. Check her bio! She’s a brilliant woman and deserves that award as well as the support of black americans- even with policy differences. I must say- Im glad her external appearance has caught up with her level of intellect! Kudos Ms. Rice!!!

Do you people who chose to critque Dr Rice on her HAIR- realize that she earned her PhD at 26 years old, that she is respected around the world by leaders that have the ability to nuke us, but because of her THEY are own our side? do you know she is a central figure in the goal of world peace? She has had SUPERTANKERS in the Soviet & Kazahkstan named after her!!!! Show some daym respect people! Who gives a DAYM about her hair and arms but simple minded, ignorant, shallow, and I’m sure, her own black people!
Oh AND for those of you who complain but don’t do anything about the problems we face- this powerfull woman took the time to talk to elementary school students at PS 154 Harriet Tubman- Where I proudly attended (Harlem)- for those who say she is ‘disconnected’ from the Black community! Learn your A B C’s !!!!!

Condoleezza looks great, better than ever. More importantly though, she has begun to repair her reputation. Her speech commenting on Obama’s win was wonderful to hear. You could tell who she was rooting for. I have no doubt she will do whatever she can to make the transition in the state department smooth. Maybe now there will be a chance to hire more Blacks to the state department as she called for a while back.

WELL GET IT MS. RICE, SHE LOOKS CUUUTTTE! NEVER SEEN HER LOOK THIS NICE.
TYRA LOOKS CRAZY AGAIN, LOOK AT HER EYES!…I CAN’T PUT MY FINGER ON IT; EITHER TOO MUCH BOTOX IN HER FOREHEAD, OR HER LACEFRONTS BE TOO TIGHT, PULLING AT THE SKIN ON HER FACE….SHE LOOKS FOOLISH TO ME. PLUS THEM BABYHAIRS ON THAT WIG! WILL SOMEBODY TELL THIS DAMN NEAR 40 YEAR OLD TO STOP IT! SHE LOOKS RIDICULOUS. I WONDER IF SHE HAS ANY HAIR…SHE’S GOT A SMALL FACE, AND IT APPEARS SHE WOULD LOOK NICE IF SHE WEARS HER OWN HAIR….BUT SOME PEOPLE ARE TOO FAKE TO WEAR THEIR OWN HAIR….SHE WOULD PROBABLY FEEL UGLY LOOKING THE WAY THE LORD ACTUALLY MADE HER……I MEAN I CAN SEE PEOPLE WEARING HAIR PIECES AND WIGS EVERY NOW AND AGAIN TO CHANGE UP THEIR LOOK, BUT A PERSON WHO IS FOREVER WEARING HAIR PIECES AND WIGS EITHER DON’T LIKE HOW THEY LOOK WITH THEIR REAL HAIR, OR THEY ARE STRAIGHT BALD, AND PROBABLY WOULDN’T GARNER THE SAME AMOUNT OF ATTENTION IF THEY WORE THEIR REAL HAIR….
EVERYONE ELSE IN THE PICS LOOK NICE.

22. Saj,
You made awesome points but I’m afraid you’re not right in alleging she can be separate from the implications of her belief. To be such a smug republican, to identify so strongly that way when you know two things — firstly, that these beliefs aren’t conducive to policy that get’s things done for a majority of your people…and secondly, that you know - and know well - that the government absolutely splurges where it sees fit — is just wrong. And if “wrong” is too strong a word (as this is America and she’s got a right to her own ideology) then “confusing” might be a more appropriate term. I think perhaps the decision to be a conservative is an informed and genuine one…she might think the nation functions better that way…perhaps it is a perfect model in her eyes but I’m always a bit skeptical of very ambitious Republican Baby Boomers. These people likely felt that they had to “go along to get along” and success was like a mirror image of the established order. Which means, she’d essentially be as politically and ideologically white as she could so that she could have a better chance achieving things most African Americans could not then. Were she a member of another generation, I wouldn’t be so skeptical. I understand the new neoconservatives, actually. I don’t agree. But I understand them. Condoleezza, not so much…

Calm down Ms. Monique! Condi was receiving an award from Glamour after all, not a freakin’ Nobel Peace Prize. We are just happy to see the woman can glam it up it need be. I don’t think anyone was discrediting any of her accomplishments at all. I had to do a double take on Condi…she actually looks really pretty in these pics.

I’m sure Condi is looking forward to her return to private life, but her accomplishments as a scholar and her accomplishment as the first black female Secy of State do not diminish the fact that she was not just on the wrong side of black people, she was on the wrong side of humanity in the Bush administration. Give the blood on all their hands…it’s a wonder any of them can sleep at night. Just because they’re almost out the door doesn’t remake history. Black or white, you can be called on on your bullshit. She will likely be celebrated for the rest of her life and graduate on to a private sector job, but those kids who lost their lives, limbs or mind in the Iraq war will never get any of those things back.

I forgot to say that I love Tyra’s dress as it’s really classic and understated. Her makeup and wig look a tiny bit off in the pix but she is still a beautiful woman. I just can’t get over that Ogunnaike chick’s ashy appearance or figure out why her picture is even on here. Selita is not looking so good in this pic either.

Wow I have a lot of respect for women like Condi Rice and Soledad OBrien. They are super smart and both hold postitions that were and still are unheard of for women of color. Its pretty immautre that some people criticize them for standing up for what the believe in and doing their jobs well. Seriously…who cares about hair and all that cosmetic crap some of you are talking about when you have world politics and nukes on your plate?
I mean yes its important to look your best at all times but some of you pay attention to the wrong things.

“ol’ girl”? Her name is Lola. I guess you didn’t care to scroll back and catch her name.
Nice group of powerful women. Now that’s what I like to see. I can respect any woman who can hold her own and be her own woman no matter what her affiliation is. I cannot say the same about Sarah Pailin. I’m sorry but the woman is just not bright and she was a puppet throughout this whole campaign.
This is the best I’ve seen Condi look.

Condi played herself how she was Bush’s spokesperson and never pushing him to step up and help people Especially for Katrina - she could’ve landed her a nice job in the Obama cabinet had she done her thing correctly during the Bush Administration.
She was a joke and not a good rep for “the people” and is only getting this award because she was a person of color in the “white” house.
