roflmaooooooooooooooooo BeYaki performed the tired video routine and messed up three times. She is tired and lame. Go away BeYaki. There is nothing interesting going on with your jacked up career.

Alicia and Neyo and Pink were great. Rihanna was interesting. She’s gonna be around for a long time because she stealing BeYaki’s white fans and some of Britney Spears fans.

But to say BeYaki shut anything down is a lie, she pressured the audience to stand up. The place was quiet for the first couple minutes of her robotic performance singing to a back track. She looks so stupid on stage and just too big and grown to be bopping around half nekked. Grow up BeYaki and learn how to make mature music.

Kanye was kind of strange in a weird way. He looks like he’s drugged.

Rumor is that BeYaki didn’t do the red carpet because she didn’t want Rihanna to show her up. roflmaaaa. why am I not surprised that that could be the truth.

The is the best period, no one that night came close. Understand Beyonce worked it out and did not need a huge set to do so. The women is AMAZING.

The performances on the show last night overall were just ok. You had some artists that turned up the energy, and gave us a performance..and some fell short. I thought that there were some performers who had to much going on as far as set design, props and dancers etc. and got lost unfortunately. I liked B’s performance, even though she did stumble a couple of times but, still managed to keep up the intensity and energy.

Pink killed it! Love her performance.

Xtina was okay but for the opener they could have picked someone else. I was hoping Pink would open up with “So What”

I think the crowd respected the inspired performances (Pink, Sarah, Alicia) and had a really good time with the upbeat ones (Neyo, Beyonce, PCD, Natasha)…I think the crowd came to party and have fun so they weren’t really into Rihanna’s slower pop thing or even Leona’s performance (although she amped it up and got a healthy response)…
Look at Beyonce next to Mariah and Leona…she should not have been in a leotard. She could have dance in pants as she did at the World Music Awards…she was working hard to push that song to #1…good luck beyond Itunes and the R&B charts, Beyonce.
I love Pink’s tan and she sounded great with Sarah and Sober is a beautiful song…she and her backup singers sounded brilliant!

If Rihanna plans on singing anymore ballads at these award shows, I’ma need for her to step her game up (vocal lessons/training) or COMPLETELY avoid any events where they list Alicia Keys, Beyonce, and/or any other singer with superior vocal abilities as performers. Definitely not a good look on her image. But I must say, no matter how good or bad her performances are, chick is ALWAYS looking fly!

She’s always sharing the stage w/ other talented women and I love that about her. She also usually incorporates some history in her performances. The verse that the Queen spit was Fyre and she looked cute. The Opera singer was on point too. Imma have to google her.

Best performances: Neyo, Pink and the one and only Alicia Keys. Rhianna was sooooo boring, something was lacking. Beyonce was great, hard to dance that hard and sing at the same time, but it just seems like Ive seen it before and… Alicia always brings it. I remember seeing her in concert and she was dancing, playing the piano, singing. Alicia is a true artist, I’m never dissapointed with her performances. Oh ya Kanye was good too. Mariah doesnt need to dance and do too much, she is already established. All she had to do was hit that last note and she did!!! Yeah us Aries never lose our touch. Holla!!!

I think the reason the show was so lackluster to me is because the stiffs in charge failed to realize that ‘08 was the year that everything in every genre was better in the underground/indie scene and they failed to dig it up. Instead, we get a show filled with a bunch of bare minimum safe bets. Actually, if we were to nit pick, there was something wrong with almost every performance (Pink was the only exception to me) with either sound, voice talent, repetition, whatever, but lets not get into that

Boreyonce - She does the same thing over and over again.. I did love back in ‘03 when she did the Crazy in Love song at the Soul train awards.. however, every performance is the same…. please try something new!

The AMA’s was pretty good this year. I actually watched most of it which is actually suprising to me since the white award shows are usually dry and boring.

I found the AMA’s to be a bit of a snooze this year. I kept flipping channels during the show b/c it wasn’t interesting enuf to hold my full attention. I did catch all of Beyonce’s and Pink’s performances, which were both very good. The best performances of the night, IMO. As for AMA fashions, I loved Alicia Keys’ dress, and suprisingly, Pink’s. Rhianna usually comes correct in the fashion department, but she didn’t bring her “A”-game last night at the AMA’s. I guess Ri-Ri was going for an edgy look, but the shape of her dress was too confusing, and those gloves really didn’t help matters. As for the rest, it was nice to see Mariah (somewhat) covered-up for a change. Her dress still showed off her figure, without making her look like a wannabe teeny-bopper. She and Nick make a handsome (if odd) couple. Nobody else made much of an impression one way or the other.

You know your the best when everyone compares you to someone else. Everyone compares Beyonce to someone. Ahahahha Beyonce to Rhianna, beyonce to alicia, beyonce to somebody. The audience did not stand for anyone singing a ballad. Alicia and Queen and Kathleen Battle got a standing O because it was the end tribute and Michelle Obama’s face was up on the screen. If she had performed so well she wouldn’t have had to practically scold them to make them get up! LOL

I watched the AMAs this year and I was very disappointed with Taylor Swift’s performance. For someone who has the #1 album in the country right now, I thought I would see more out of her. What was the point of her sitting on the couch during most her number? To be honest, I thought she was going to finally belt it out when she finally stood up. But to my surprise, she didn’t sing out. Her voice sounds very average, not terrible, but average.,
Ms. Swift’s live performance that evening shows that with computer enhancement ANYONE can sound great. I had never heard of Taylor Swift until that night and after hearing her sing live, I really don’t understand why her album was #1. I expected so much more. Maybe if she got proper voice lessons and learned to really sing, maybe she will keep that #1 spot.
But then again, unfortunately it is all about looks and not real talent. And that is truly sad. Just my two cents worth.
