I was there and the awards were, in three words, FAB-U-LOUS! The reason Faith is dressed in jeans is because she was asked at the very last moment to fill in for Roy Ayers. She just happened to be in town and did BGR a huge favor. She didn’t have rehearsal time with the band and she said she didn’t even have time to run out and buy a cute outfit. She rocked her set like a pro and like she and the band were tight. I give her mad props for coming through the way she did. And if you thought everyone looked nice you should have heard their speeches. So inspiring! I will blog about it tomorrow on uptownlife.net. Peace!

Some of yall were being a lil rough on Faye! She is in the middle of her book tour. She did this set on a last minute request. She did not have time to prepare, she basically went it cold. She does not look her best in the photo but she rocked her set. She is a musical professional. I think the fact that she is not actively on the scene nor does she have an album in circulation right now says alot about her talent that they came to her and asked her to perform.
I love the fact that they are doing this whole award ceremony. I wish this was something that was televised. It would have been nice to see such performers in action. Marsha and Bilal are also vague from the scene as well….. WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU GUYS!!! All those that performed are missed!!!!
