IT’S A OKAY ALBUM FOR BEY.

I have to be real with myself, this album is not what I expected. And lawd knows when the Beyonce’s camp promotes they take it to another level of over exposure. Everywhere you click there she is looking at you with this crazy ass new alter ego look. Let’s not forget that Solange is back on the scene after only selling 34,000 copies, now we have to see her everywhere again. Wow, what a way to start off your holidays.

I just listened to about 7 of the songs; 4 in which were “club bangers” and 3 standard ballad type songs. To be completely honest, I am not impressed with the lyrics or the sounds. A couple songs have hints of the same melodies and the words are a bit amateur for her age and maturation level. On her website she states that she has “put her heart and soul into the album.” If this is what her hear and soul is saying to the world, she better get ready for a lot of ridicule and embarrassment. I love Beyonce as a hip/hop-r&b artist, but now I am starting to limit her creative capabilities. She has remained stagnant for two years now. I will buy the album out of support as a fan and because the music industry sales are poor right now, but if she does not step up her lyric game; MEANING HER LYRICS AND HER LYRICS ONLY, she will have one less purchaser to worry about (and probably more musically educated individuals). @ #20…..I couldn’t agree with you more….It seems to me that she’s been creating songs lately that need video’s to back them up, versus the song along ( i.e. B’DAY). Her first album was the best by far. I will purchase the album also, simply because I’m a fan, but a lot of these tracks are very weak…

@ #24 Thanks for the agreement. A lot of fans and radio listeners don’t understand the difference between and artist/singer and a vocalist/singer. An artist generally writes their own material, and their material usually changes and gets better or worse each year they continue to create. For example, Beyonce would be classified as a singer/artist and sometimes singer/vocalist. She used to write all of her material but now she writes probably a small percentage…I bet that small percentage are those “club bangers”.. but those standards are written by numerous folk. A lot of times when people are just singing songs that other people wrote its hard for the singer to truly sound as if they connect…BECAUSE THE MATERIAL IS NOT THEIRS. Another example is Rhianna: great, pretty girl, but she would be classified as a singer/vocalist. Rhianna does not write any of her material. But she is turning into a great vocalist not because she can’t sing, but because she connects to the material very well. If Beyonce’s material isn’t hers, it sounds forced…primarily because she’s an artist first. If she just sticks to that she would be better off. I hate to have brought Rhianna into the Beyonce equation, but I’m just explaining my thoughts. There are a lot of great Singer/Vocalists out there (Whitney, Ciara, Jo Jo, etc). Karina Pasian would be an example of both singer/artist and singer/vocalist. Alicia is an awesome example of strictly singer/artist!

i dont like because there are only 1-2 songs per disc I like, the lyrics and melodies are pretty basic sounding, I like her last album better, this one does nothing for me

Definitely picking up this album. Very cohesive and eclectic album. I like the fact that she’s expanding and taking risks with new sounds and not just playing it safe and boring. Being able to step out of your comfort zone and take on new challenges makes a great artist.Good job Beyonce!

I’m sorry, but this entire album sucks ass in my opinion (both discs)! The Beyonce side is two types of BORING (most people like halo, but it’s mad boring to me). The Sasha side is just a HOT ASS MESS (no meaning, no growth, no nothing, just a complete mess)! This is definitely not the best album of the year…sorry beyonce fans, stans, etc.!

@Beyonce Fan #42: Rhianna, Ciara, and others of the sort are Vocalists: people who can learn the melodies/harmonies/lyrics good enough to sing them… and usually have a unique voice. The thing that differentiates all three of these artists and others is their voice.Why would you want everyone to hit the high note ,everyone doesnt want the same singer to be the best singer or make that bird chirping sound.It will be generic and boring the same thing over and over.Its not about the amazing voice,theirs loads of them but it better having someone with the X factor.

Beyonce will always be a tremendous artist, and usually does justice on her albums. I will admit that a good portion of the songs, both on “I am…” and “Sasha Fierce” will have to grow on me. The same thing happened with “B’Day” and after a month, I was hooked from start to finish. She may have to do that Anthology video collection (Which I believe she plans on doing) for this album again, but if it works wonders like it did for “B’Day”, can’t be mad at her! Work your magic ‘B!

I hear you; but Rihanna can not sing, yes she has a different style of voice but she cant carry it past the studio. I’ve tried to be bias with her on some things cause she has had great songs written, produced and the two things that has bought her this far are the ARRANGEMENT and BEAT of the song is what we have come to listen too.

But when you cant pull off simple stuff live and basically that’s what they have given her, Simple Stuff, that’s when the remarks come in about the quality of voice.

This is an amazing album from Beyonce!!!!

Her voice sounds incredible from start to finish. The two discs show versatility in her voice. For those saying she didn’t show growth or doesn’t have great lyrics have you listened to the entire songs on the Beyonce side, as well as some standout tracks on the Sasha Fierce side. Even the fun and upbeat ones don’t have your run of the mill concepts. To me Beyonce shows growth, and vocally she is at her BEST on this c.d. I will definitely be getting this album on the 18th.

Also NOTICE, how the people who claim not to like Beyonce or her album, are ALWAYS ON HER POST talking about how they don’t like her. So people listen for yourself and not these skeptics. No matter what product Beyonce released they still would say the same thing. To me this album is great. Just great, and even the negative people are talking about putting it on limewire. Either way you’re still listening to her and will know all her songs just like the fans. We get it you don’t like her, which I think you secretly do for you to talk about her this much.

You and “Not Impressed” simply come on every Beyonce post, hit refresh, respond back to everyone just to say you don’t like her material. You didn’t even listen to the c.d with an open mind, but with an intent to bash. It was on her myspace page, for fans, let me guess is that what you are now? I agree #85, but people will buy this album based on her name alone (Beyonce knows this). I’m not buying crappy music….no matter who the artist is (fan or not)! I like Beyonce, absolutely love and still bump cuts from Dangerously in Love religiously. However, this cd is trash…she took a year off and came back with this. I understand she’s growing with her music and stuff. But the Beyonce side all of the song sound the same except for Halo. Ego and Sweet Dreams are the only other songs i like and the two singles out. I don’t know i feel like she’s doing too much trying to be out of the box, when it should just come naturally. Her lyrics are still very elementary, i think she wrote better on the first album. I don’t know im starting to think that people aren’t even being honest about her music, just cause it’s Beyonce everyone jumps on the bandwagon. I don’t think this is her best work. but i do like some of the songs on there, but the Beyonce side falls short to me.

i don’t think not writing your own songs takes away from your validity as a singer or performer. what did janet and michael write? not much but they put out several ridiculous albums and they’re both clearly talented. B Day was a helluva lot better. This CD has too much going on style wise. I did like Diva as well as the two singles that are out now and Ego. I will probably download what I like and skip buying the full CD. The only CD I have heard recently that I loved throughout is J Hud’s.

Why do Ciara and Rhianna’s name always have to be brought up? He didn’t write this for Beyonce. Tricky and the Dream wrote this for Jon. Jon dropped the song from the album and it was given to Beyonce. From what I read, she re-arranged some lyrics and got “writing credits” for it. The name of the song is ‘Smash Into You’ now. Love the album. I love the rock in roll folky sound. Its different. beyonce is one of the first black artists to experiment with this sound. I think it is different and special. People dont have to like it. Its art! You dont have to like someone elses art. But no matter what, millions will love it, she will travel the world and its going to sell. It may be because her name, or it maybe because she has alot of great material. I think it is a mixture of both. Beyonce is a world class artist weather you like it or not. She aint never going no where. What separates her from the rest is her vocals and that is the sole reason why she is gonna stay around. Beyonce has been taking alot of criticism since she was 17 and look how far it has taken her. Arguably one of the greatest entertainers of our time. You will never say that about Ciara or Rihanna. They are just not on that level. So haters keep wasting your breath, call her album garbage and say she is done. but you and I both know that she will be around for a very very long time.

Honestly, and I mean honestly, this cd is not beyonces best. HOWEVER, I still do enjoy listening to a few of the tracks on the album. This whole Sasha Fierce thing is quited over rated seeing as that Beyonce has been damn near every where trying to promote the hell out of this album. A few of the ballads are beautiful and even the urban songs are not that bad, but not that good either. I might cop the album and I might just go to limewire who knows. I just want a soulful album from Beyonce. Not something so superficial, and even though she said that this album will give us insight about her, I’m even more confused on who the hell I’m looking at when I see her picture.

I just have comment about our ole girl beyonce, maybe you guys seen her on E news recently but beyonce is coming overly to confident. with her stating that she’s a camilian and that she can she her look from being a nerd to high fashion learn some modesty B, all the shy stuff is BS so is sasha fierce and you know this

I love the album and the growth portrayed on it, especially on the Beyoncé side. The vocals in “Ave Maria” and “Halo” are great as usual. The diva Sasha Fierce’s tracks are surprisingly eclectic; which is something that I wouldn’t have expected. I am not crazy about “Satellites”, but I am sure the entire album will grow on me. I’m sure that the versatility between Beyoncé and Sasha Fierce will add a great twist to her tour.

Beyonce is the only artist that can get this many post on any web site. HA! Obviously she the HBIC!

I love how she takes risk and tries to evolve her sound. I love Beyonce!

I dont like the first half of this CD. I like she took risks. but I’m not feeling the sound. Thats just me though. I LOVE SASHA FIERCE!!! She jams…lol

However I like Broken Hearted Girl…

Well I like some songs like “Diva” and “Radio” off the bat. Not feeling any of the slow songs though. I don’t know when I first heard Bday I hated it took about a week to grow on me thne I couldn’t get enough its now one of my favorites… so this will probably be the same way. I can tell I will bump the Sasha Fierce side of the album way more. I can’t beleive how hood she kept it on this album, she damn near rappin most songs. And she rightfully claiming her title of queen of the game… I know thats right Bey! She’s definitely #1 and I’m proud of her for always reinventing herself and setting the par for others. Haterz can hate but she aint goin nowhere!

Beyonce is fabulous, haters can’t take the heat that’s all.

I like Jon Mclaughlin’s song- Smack Into you & I think Beyonce’s version - Smash Into you is decent. I also like BC Jean’s version of “If I were a boy- Its has a raspy rock feel to it” . P.S: Shanice KILLED her version of “If I Were A Boy- PURE FIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m looking forward to this album and there are only about 3 songs I really didn’t care for. But what’s funny to me is that everytime there is a Bey post people try to go and look to search for things that may be similar that others may or may not have done before. Give it up every thing that is done by any artist has been done before and will be done again and again. Who cares if her album don’t outsell nickelback or whoever else if she never sells another album your favorite singer won’t catch up to her album sales or achievements. It’s fine to not like her music but if that’s the case stay off her post and myspace and go support your favorite artist I’m sure they need it a hell of a lot more than Bey.

i have to admit ive not been that excited by what ive heard, Bey’s voice hasnt moved me the way it used to with these tracks however ive grown to like the mellow songs- That’s Why You’re Beutiful, Satilites, Smash Into You etc- its kinda like Beyonce does Norah Jones stylee who i happen to really like.
BUT my gosh that was until i just heard ‘Why Dont You love Me’ just now on youtube which is DA SIIIIIIIICKEST BEYONCE SONG EVER! finally, a new song that reminds me why i love her voice! she is at her best on this track, kinda on a ‘work it out’ grind ut ten times better cos of the badass lyrics! she branging it home on this song and Solange wrote it so props to her for giving it to her sis cos she done know she wldnt put it down like Beyonce who goes hard like she on some Aretha Franklin tip……go listen y’all, she really ‘makes it so dayumn easy to love’ it!
