I heard the entire CD and there is some good stuff on there “Disappear” and then she rode into whackness trying to rap and curse. It’s miss mash of too many different styles - pop, rock, acoustic, hip-hop, bubble gum. It kinda made me take one listen and go - “ummmmkay” and pick up my Jazmine Sullivan. I like her but it’s way below the quality I was expecting. Just like Mariah - I will be buying singles on itunes.

I like B and all but I am already suffering from overexposure and her album hasn’t even dropped yet.

OK I am confused is this the full album cuz were are the songs “Scared of Lonely”, “Smash into You” (wish is my jam), “That’s Why You’re Beautiful”, “Why Don’t You Love Me”, “Hello”, “Ego” (which is supposedly her nxt single so why is not on the album) or is that the Deluxe Edition only going to have those songs.

I think B’s taken a big risk with this album… I’m not sure it’s working for me but I am sure it will sell well anyway

I like Beyonce, but I agree with #3 it has too many different styles that don’t flow together and some that are just plain bad. I’m sure her cd will still sell well, but I don’t know if her target market is going to feel the album. It is definitely one of those I would only purchase singles from.

There was too much going on. I was stressed out trying to keep up with all the stuff. Maybe one CD with 18 songs - 9-Beyonce/9 Sasha - but all this boom shakalacka with a sundance twist had my head hurting. And I still listen to her first solo CD. It’s the best she’s done. I think on this new thing she is trying to hit every markert at once and it’s too much. “Ava Marie” is a beautiful song, but where in the hell does it fit in? I am suprised there was not a country version.

As long as Keri keeps popping up in other people’s video’s that she wrote songs for…and showingher face with Timbaland and Justin T, she’ll be OK. She just has to stay away from the “Due Drop In status such as Michelle and Kelly, who weren’t widely seen everywhere with all demographics.

She did it like all other artist do - she added an “oohh” or and “aahhh” and she gets co-wrote creds.

I am waiting, patiently to hear Keri’s album.

Beyonce is amazing, and it shows in these few tracks that have leaked. Instead of giving everyone all of the same ol’ stuff you on the radio she’s actually digging deep to deliver something that is incredible. This only supports the notion that she is a force in the music industry, not a wavering thought like some of these “come and go” artists (Not Keri or Mario, because I do love them too). What I will say is that I hope this leak was a calculated move by her camp, and that it wont be pirated before its release.

Time to think outside the box people.

I AM…. has a good variety of songs on both discs. I like how Beyonce is experimenting with different styles, and not staying in that urban-pop area. I agree some people wont be feeling this new sound, but it dosen’t hurt to experiment. She is taking risk, and knows what can happen with this new release; good or bad.

Overall I’m excited to purchase the new CD, and hope she sells well.

#20 thanks for clearing that up looks like I will be purchasing the deluxe edition I hope they don’t have a limited number of deluxe edition in stores come nov 18, because I remember way back buying Kingdom Come the deluxe edition of the album the one that had the DVD sold out the quickest.

And oh I can not wait to get the Keri album and I always support Mario.

I keep comparing these artist to their best and I get dissapointed each and everytime. Maybe this is another Alicia Keys last album (wait before you state I am not comparing detail) at first when I preview Keys album I hated As I am but after a few listens its my favorite. I want to be able to do the same with Mrs. Carter but I can’t get past her first solo album that will always be my sheet. Brian knows that she didnt cowrite all the songs on the album, he should have said “beyonce is claiming cowriting credits on all songs”! I feel sorry for BC jean who naively thinks she is being given full credit for the song. As a songwriter no amount of money would make me give up writing credits for a song I wrote out of a personal experience, when it means that much to me.

On the song Diva she states that she sold 50 million, wtf! That must include destinys child sales which were a group effort, she wasn’t a solo artist then. Realistically she may have sold 10-15 mill maybe. Mariah has sold 160 mill plus but she doesn’t boast about it! Someone is in need of a humility pill or two.

Omg. I am so tired of oversaturated Beyonce. She is just doing way too much for me. And before you all start: I AM NOT HATING. I am simply a person that loves music, and is tired of the garbage that she is putting out and labeling it as “music.” This song is ok, but “Single Ladies??????” She could put out ANYTHING, and people will still flock to it. So the girl is pretty, can hold a tune, and can dance. How old is she now, and most of the time she still sings songs about looking sexy, being single, and whatever else. A true musician and entertainer shows growth and depth within their music, and to me, it really just seems to all run togther when it comes to her.

What does Kerry mean? I don’t understand why she doesn’t get that she’s a boring artist? She should stay behind the scenes indefinitely, I think. But I have been wrong recently - Brandy, who I counted out, had a phenomenal performance on BET the other day. I was channel surfing and saw her. She did an amazing job. So, maybe Kerry can come with a nice sound…I don’t think so as most of her stuff leaves you wanting a visual… It’s standard pop fluff that fits into a pop formula - sexy singer + sexual clothes + a party scene. All that has to work for her stuff to work…

As for Mario, he has a phenomenal voice but he just can’t fly…I always thought he should because he’s clearly got the best voice of any of the young singers. I think it’s a combination of two things: He clearly can’t dance (and should stop trying) and his voice is too soulful, too good to be believable on the sorts of pop songs that are successful for other non-dancers (like The Dream).

And Beyonce - the album is worse than B’Day only because it’s longer. It’s pseudo-intellectual and incongruous. It’s bad and only she could sell it. But she probably will.

Ok, at first I was like uhn uhn B needs to go back to the studio with this album and think about what she just did. Then I gave it a second listen and it wasn’t that bad. The song “Ave Maria” is B’s attempt to show her audience that she is cultured. But, as her audience, and fans, we know B is cultured from all them darn pictures we seen over time of she and Mr. Carter on their private yachts in the South of France, walking the streets of Italy, diving off boats in the ocean. We get it B, you are more than a bubble gum pop artist! ; )

VOCALLY - this woman has traveled lights years from where she was in the past and it is blatantly obvious. Songs like “Halo”, “Dissappear”, “IIWAB”, “Radio”, and hell even “Single Ladies” (give me another artist that could’ve done that track justice!) all prove that.

IMAGE - wise she has found the BALANCE. She has toned down the make-up, the drag queen like effects and picked up a more natural tone thats beautifully accessorized with her now “euro-glam” ensembles. But you guys also have to remember that songs grow on you. When Beyonce released Single Ladies and If I Were A Boy, I ligit gave up on her, I claimed myself as NOT a fan anymore. And we all know how much I stan for Bey too. But now I absolutely love them. Her songs tend to grow on me after while. Like right now, this album is OK. I’m telling you, I absolutely adore Beyonce but some of these songs are not great at all. But they’ve been getting better the more I play them.

I think Dangerously In Love was her best solo album BY FAR. I hate cd’s that I have to skip songs constantly, I like them to just play. B’Day, I was like ‘NEXT, NEXT, NEXT, NEXT”, I wasn’t impressed at all. DIL, However, I skipped probably two songs, Hip Hop Star, and Signs. But regardless of her cd’s outcome, I will be buying it, no doubt, that’s my gurl.

BTW:The best CD I’ve EVER purchased regarding Beyonce was Destiny Fulfilled. Ohh LAWD, I loved that cd. There was not one song on there I didn’t love. I still listen to it now….I really loved DC.

Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this album. I did buy her first two, but I’m not 2 sure about this one. IMO, this album is just too mixed up. She’s damn near singin opera on one song then she’s talkin about shakin it and saying “ERRRday” on another track. It’s like she’s having a battle between being classy and being hood…and personally I’m confused. Now, I don’t think disc 2 is terrible. I can see myself rockin to a few of those songs and I really like a few tracks on disc 1.

However, while trying to appeal to mainstream pop and hip-hop, she has completely FORGOTTEN about her R&B roots. There is nothing on this album for those that fell in love with Beyonce’s R&B tracks! I co-sign with everyone on how great of an album DIL was…but she has really forgotten about us R&B folks on these last two albums. If I could’ve heard just ONE song that sounded something like, “Me, Myself and I” or “Be WIth You” I would’ve been cool. I completely understand Beyonce challenging herself by doing something new and I truly respect that. All I’m saying is while you’re trying to step up your career game, don’t forget about those who helped start your career in the first place.

im not really sure what to make of beyonces album. i mean, i love if i were a boy and single ladies (its my ringtone lol) but these other songs, i dont know. i like disappear and a couple others on the beyonce side, but i feel she went too far with sasha. at first it was like, ok this is her stage persona, but now that shes actually trying to record songs “as sasha” its a bit too much. beyonces trying to solidify herself as a legend, but i think some of the sasha songs are a step backwards for her (diva anyone?). now im a straight up beyonce STAN, and i’ve already pre-ordered the deluxe edition of the album, but i think it’ll take some time to grow on me. i guess im just used to the heavy baseline head bangin crazy in love beyonce.

Ok folks….lets be real without attacking the person… The album i am.. is hot… especially the entire A side (the beyonce side)…… Halo, disappear, Broken hearted girl and satellites show growth and are amazing songs not only writing wise but vocally. As for the Sasha Feirce side… Radio, Sweet Dreams and Diva are great songs. The one thing that people must understand is that for a person to grow sometimes they have to stray away from what they usually do. I think this album is one of the most daring and progressive albums that she has done and i dont love everything that she does. I mean of course some of the tracks on the sasha feirce are “fun”, “bubble gum”, whatever else u wanna call them.. but thats sasha fierce, so u should have expected…. what u shouldnt have expected the great slow tracks because for the first time there is an album with 9 ballads that someone can play from cover to cover because their all good songs. Out of 10 i give beyonce a 8 1/2 and trust ego and halo (her next singles will shut ppl up..)

P.S. how can you steal a song from someone when they 1. didnt have time to record the song…2. felt the song was too much like her first single to want to take that risk….3. never stepped in the studio or signed off on agreeing to recording the song. 4. I heard the I Am album and as a Bey fan, I was HIGHLY disappointed. The tracks on the Beyonce CD all sound the same and the Sasha Fierce CD was mediocre. I felt insulted as a Bey fan, and what’s up with the track “Diva” - it’s like c’mon Bey…you can’t give us BDay and then follow with this. But hey, I guess she thought it would be well received, but I think she may want to consider going back into the studio.

I really like Halo… originally it was meant for Leona Lewis but there wasn’t enough time in her schedule to record it so Ryan Tedder gave it to Beyonce’s camp… how Bee gets a writing credit for a song that was floating around the industry is surprise to me but hey, amazing track so what do I care. That said, the rest of the album is incredibly weak and uninspired, the girl has nothing to say from the soul. So busy trying to have a finger in all pies there ends up being a total disconnection of spirit on her material. Three strikes and you’re out IMO; if Beyonce still hasn’t managed to deliver a solid, real and genuinely insightful album by this point in her career then it clearly shows she’s incapable of such a thing and lacks the creative intelligence to do so. It’ll never happen and at this point after trying so hard to feel her as an artist on the basis of ‘I Am…’ I’ve just straight given up.

Both disc’s could have used better production, like all albums these days. Beyonce’s production was always SO detailed, but I think all these songs needed more dimension composition wise. They dont match her voice which is so clear. She is murdering the vocals, BIG TIME. She needs to work with some real instrumentalists on her next album to complement her voice better. Alicia Keys does it like no other.

I liked may 2 songs from this list…..Halo and Broken-hearted girl…….and I kinda like video phone………some of the other songs would definitely have to grow on me….to say this girl is so popular her albums are just so–so…..I guess it’s her performances and videos that make it better. Bey’s latest album is definitely an improvement from B’Day. Some will say it’s a bit ‘mish-mash’, but I say good on her for making an effort to get out of the box of Pop RnB…she said she wanted to be iconic, and no longer a Pop Star. I think this album helps, although not completely.
My favourite tracks, from the ones that have leaked are ‘Halo’, ‘Disappear’ & ‘Ave Maria’. All from the ‘I AM…’ Disc. The ‘SASHA FIERCE’ disc have a few odd songs, that have grown on me, the past couple of days. ‘Radio’ and ‘Diva’ a quite cool. ‘Video Phone’ however is quite lackluster.
Beyonce co-wrote all of the songs on the album, and not all the words are exactly the same as BC Jean’s original version of ‘If I Were A Boy’…things like this happen in this industry…it’s normal.
Yes, Beyonce is very commercial in her approach and her song choices, but why do people complain when it’s Beyonce…her originality may not be the best, she is a very easily-inspired artist lol…
There are a million artists out there, who are very commercial, and they have to be if they want to stay in this industry…it’s game. =]

I listened to the songs posted here, OMG, it’s worse than i thought. Same juvenile lyrics, diva antics on the tracks (all the while claiming to be humble, where reality shows you there’s not one humble bone in her body, it’s all a game).

Every last song is GARBAGE, just straight garbage, and the only reason someone would not call it garbage is because she is singing the songs….if a rookie singer put them songs on a demo, they would get laughed out the studio.

People just need to admit and realize and come to grips with the fact that beyonce’s day is over. She’s repeating the same crap music, with lil girl lyrics, something teenagers can identify with, instead of grown women. IT’S LIKE SHE NEVER GREW UP…We grew up listening to her, and it’s like we all grew up, and she didn’t and just stayed right where she was.

Beyonce’s biggest problem is her fans. You mofo’s are crazy.

Why is it so hard to understand, that there are people in this world who don’t find her impressive - no matter how many albums she sells, concerts she has or magazines cover’s she’s on. Why is it not possible for you to say you enjoy her album without having to put down every other artist or people who are not fans? You make it hard to even like her, because it’s almost the equivalent of joining some kid of cult. It is possible to like Beyonce, as I do, but also give my honest opinion of her music. Doing so does not make me a hater, it makes me sain. Some of you guys outta try that.

I listened to the album and the only song that has grown on me is Halo. I like the vocal techniques she uses in some of the other songs, but overall the album is as impressive as I was suspecting, considering all of the hype around it. I think the alter ego thing is very stupid, played out. I think the last person to do that successfully was Eminen/Slim Shady/Marshal Mathers and even then, it just comes off as very self absorbed. The songs on the Beyonce side sound very generic and the appear to be deep, but when you listed to them they’re really not. The Sasha side, just sounds like noise. I know Beyonce prides herself on writing songs for women, but IMO, any level headed, intelligent, self respecting young woman would have evolved past her songs years ago. If I Were a Boy sounds like something Miley Cyrus should be singing and Diva is just an anthem for hoodrats. Ave Maria is a pretty song and I like the production and Melody on Video Phone. For some reason that song reminds of Santagold.

And i really wish people would stop bringing up the fact that a black man is now president and comparing that to people’s opinions on here of beyonce. Beyonce is just a ghetto ass, fat ass, childish minded, country talking, fake ass, master of illusion, lying, stealing, delusional, wack ass, swagger jacking, woman.

If anything, the fact that we now have a black president should actually make us more sensitive to listening to crap, and worshipping people like beyonce. She is not worthy of worship. She is confused! She wants to be looked at as wholesome and slutty at the same time. She wants to be admired for being deep, yet everything she puts out is shallow.

Beyonce is wealthy because there are alot of low self esteem people in the world who worship her simply because of her money and fame. People want to feel empowered, and they feel beyonce is very powerful because of what she has, her line of work, her endless money, and because so many woman and men look at her as if she’s the second coming. So many people on here got no money, no man, get no respect, and they look at beyonce and think she has it all. Because of this, and this alone, she made millions.

She’s not a good role model, and if i had a daughter, i would be horrified if they wanted to follow in her footsteps. I don’t want to see my daughter on stage poppin and gyrating for money, entertaining people like a show monkey. Now some people wouldn’t agree, cause for them it’s all about the money, so of course, if their daughter had to get on stage and wear next to nothing for money, so be it.

The worship on here is scary and pathetic at the same time cause it shows the mentality of most on here.

I previewed the album on another site. It only had 30 sec snippets, but for most of us that’s all we need to know if we like it or not.

Only Halo was good. However, I don’t think it’s as strong or as good as Irreplaceable. Unless some of you forget, B’Day was not selling that hot. Yeah, the first week they had her at over 500K, but for those of us who have some knowledge of the music industry we know that they count presells with the total. B’Day presells were from July until her birthday release which is also my birthday, but I’m older…….hahahahah. I digress. If an album is out for 2 whole months with someone like Beyonce of course it’s going to sell 500K. But if you look at the bigger pix, it took her 2 whole months to sell that.

The album went on to sell 3 million. This is Beyonce and 3 mill ain’t jack for an artist of her caliber. DC did better than 3 mill. B’Day did worse than DIL. Yet, Irreplaceable saved that crappy album. Halo is a good song so is If I Were A Boy. I like BC Jean’s version better. IMO, there isn’t another song on that 2 disc CD to put it over the top.

Like others have stated, it will sell. She does have her fan base, but again IMO it won’t do as good as DIL. That was her best album and still is.

Keri-I’m not surprised her album would be pushed back. Energy and the other song aren’t great. Those songs are generic. She’s got to come out with something odd yet exciting. People won’t be interested if her songs sound like everything else.I’m still rooting for, because she has talent and is working hard to make a name for herself. Hopefully she can pull it off.

Mario-His last album was alright, not bad. He can actually sing, and can do well if given the right songs. Best of luck to him.

Beyonce -The only songs I like on the album are Sweet Dreams and Halo so I won’t be buying it. She claims her sound has grown and evolved, but I don’t hear it. I actually love the Beyonce part of the double album. I only like Radio, Sweet Dreams, and Diva on the Sasha part. When she says she “co-wrote” all the songs that doesn’t mean she wrote the whole song, she just may have tweaked it a bit to suit her more….all artists do it…she’s just smart enough to get credit for it…

One of the issues I have with the “I Am…” theme of this album is that Beyonce looks the same for both personas. “I Am Beyonce” looks like Beyonce without makeup, and “I Am Sasha Fierce” looks like Beyonce with makeup. If Beyonce wanted to show her dichotomy, she should have shown “I Am Beyonce” with her natural hair, curled up in bed with a book and a dog at her feet (you get the message). She should have shown a distinct difference in both persons.

Secondly, a person has to naturally have depth and soul in his or her voice; you cannot force or fake it. Beyonce, tries to sing and act deep; however, her soul is not quite there yet. For some, they have to go through romantic hurt or family tragedy to deepen their soul. Hopefully, Beyonce can find her true soul without having to go through these experiences.

Last, Beyonce’s rendition of “At Last” does not sound like a blues song. Even though one may argue that Beyonce’s voice is more technically sound that Etta’s, Etta’s voice is deepened with the blues; therefore, Beyonce cannot touch, reach or imitate Etta’s signature version. She needs to make a blues song sound like the blues.

I would suggest that Beyonce doesn’t try so hard at reinventing herself for the sole purpose of trying something knew. She should let her soul tell her what to do.

This album’s sound is really different from DC’s sound. The first time I could feel when I listen to Beyonce’s songs without the feelin’ as if I was listenin’ to DC songs.

Beyonce…I’ve been saying some pretty stupid shit over the past few weeks on here bout “hater this”, “hater that”. But for real this album sounds so bland. Aside from a few hot tracks, everything else sounds the same. The pace of the “Beyonce” side of the album has too many slows and midtempos and no real variety. I like B’Day and DIL too cuz each song had a distinct vibe. Alot of this sounds recycled. As much as I love Single Ladies too, it sounds like something from B’Day. Even though I dont like the nasty comments people make about her…I’ll admit that I was wrong for sounding like a fool when I kept “stanning” for her. I can safely say that this album won’t be on my birthday/Xmas list.

Okay I MIGHT AS WELL GIVE MY LITTLE CRITIQUE ABOUT BEY’s NEW ALBUM.

First off let me say that I was a little worried because for one I didn’t think it was the right time for Beyonce to be putting out new music being that her last album ran for about 2 years! B’Day was definitely dragged out for too long. I felt like it was too much Beyonce and she had to give us a chance to await her arrival back into the music game after taking at least a 2 year break. But we all know that when Bey comes out, she goes hard, and I guess because her movies and all that are coming out soon, she decided to put her music out now as well. But whatever. Then the concept behind this album to be honest I really did not like at all. Then hearing If I Were a Boy and Single Ladies, I was still pretty disappointed. But from just hearing the album preview, I must say I am very impressed with Bey. I can honestly hear some Dangerously in Love elements in there but also some B’Day elements there so it’s her mixed with all that she’s done. So here is the breakdown.

Sasha Disc = Fire!!!!
1. Single Ladies_least favorite
2. Radio_international smash
3. Diva_hood anthem *didn’t like it the first time I heard it but after a while it was hot*
4. Sweet Dreams_good song and would have a hot video like Rihanna Disturbia
5. Video Phone_this is the type of song I would grind to at the club *ringtone music*

Simon Cowell is fuming as a song written for Leona Lewis was given to Beyonce for her ‘I Am Sasha Fierce’ album, say reports.

The track is called ‘Halo’ and was penned by OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder - who co-wrote Leona’s smash single ‘Bleeding Love’ with Jesse McCartney.

Insiders claim Cowell and Tedder had agreed to let Lewis sing the song for her second album, expected in 2009, but the R&B star has since recorded it for herself.

“Leona’s diary is so rammed it didn’t look like she could record it until next year.” A source at SonyBMG is quoted as saying. “Ryan didn’t want to hang around so he gave it to Beyonce”.

As much as I love Bey, I’m not loving this CD. I had high hopes that she would be returning to her Dangerously in Love style, but no such luck. Fortunately (or unfortunately if you hate the state of music today) it will still sell–just on her charisma and videos alone. You have to give her props for being able to sell $hit like its sugar. This is what I meant by singing with natural depth. When Shanice sings, “If I Were A Boy” the song sounds powerful and give full meaning to the intent of the song. However, Beyonce’s delivery is empty. Beyonce needs to find her own voice, what songs really moves her, instead of singing for the sake of a hit record.

Many of the songs have a European/ Int’l Vibe to them.

Although many of the songs on the Beyonce side are similar , the Sasha Fierce side isnt so FIERCE, more hood and just pop songs. I think its a great album for Beyonce. Better then Bday. It will be a classic for her and I wouldnt be surprised if this is her biggest week opener. Potentially her best seller.

Also why bring up other artists ONLY to demean them! Like Ciara and Rhianna. Please stop the hatred. I view all of them as super artist and are the force of POP/RnB of Black women now.

Halo I believe is her stand out track. The best on the album and one of her best ever.

I havent listened to the album in full but unlike everyone else I dont like Halo it is waaaay to Leona Lewis-esque , but I think her vocals on Ava Maria and Dissapear are amazing. Although I am a Beyonce’ fan I can admit I dont love every joint on the album but with most of her albums like DIL and B’day I didnt love every track on them either but when I do like songs on her album I absolutely love them . I think its good she is tryna move out the box and mix genres and Im not surprised with people’s reaction to her album, like the saying goes you cant please 100% of the people 100% of the time if she did straight up R&B people would say she hasnt grown and now shes swtichin it up people are saying she lost her swag. Im just hanging to hear that ‘why dont u love me joint’ that sounds like it should be good!

First of all Beyonce is the shit no matter what yall think. Second she did co-write all of the songs. She put her own special twist to it so it would sound just like BC Jean. I LOVE Beyonce’s new album. She always brings it and raises the bar for her replica’s. She’s hitting amazing notes and her voice is like syrup. It flows effortlessly from up-tempo to pop to bluesy jazz to opera to whatever. This album is just off the chain.
