On November 6th, Brandy shot a video for her second single, “Long Distance,” the follow-up to “Right Here (Departed).” The two singles come from Brandy’s forthcoming studio album, Human, which hits stores December 9th. Even though I was a little unsure about Brandy releasing this as a second single, I think the Chris Robinson-directed video looks pretty amazing.

The song is beautiful, its so meaningful and had me nearly in tears because im away from home.
I cant even fathom how Beyonce can be mentioned in a post about an artist who is the total opposite to her, Brandy has been making great music for years. i grew up listening to her, her music is touching. Its not about the typical nonsense that so many other artists sing about. I really hope this album does well because its a shame that the industry is dominated by just a few people, which means that great talent is over looked in favour of more marketable artists.
I used to think CL was full of intelligent young people but clearly not, only 14 year olds stan about one artist and can’t listen to more than one type of music.
And we can’t complain about the quality of music deteriorating if we refuse to support talented artists. If you like Amel larrieux, brandy, A hamilton, then buy there stuff and support them then at least they can still keep making good music.

WHAT THEE HELL HAS GOTTEN INTO YOU? One day you’re stanning for Beyonce the next day you seem like you joined club JSCENE. But whatever, we all have opinions I guess. But you’re acting pretty psychotic if you ask me. No one does that. I don’t like Beyonce like I did in the DIL days but I’m not bashing her either. You can support that Brandy album all you wan’t because she definitely will be needing your support. Both you and me know that this cd will flop, it will without a doubt. She always comes with fresh concepts and a more mature approach (lyrically and vocally) each time she releases. She’s not worried about current trends because she’s been creating and mastering her brand since 1994. If it aint broke, don’t fix it!! Brandy is true to herself and her fans — everything else will fall into place.

I dont really like this song to be honest. I love Brandy’s songs, their always so different and the production and vocals are always on point, but this is just boring IMHO. I wish she came out with porcelin doll that song is amazing. On a more positive note though she looks great & I love her weave.

Let’s all remember this one important thing: to each his own. Plain and simple. With that in mind, there is no reason for the back and forth comments about who said what and why this artist is better than the other. We all have our reasons for supporting certain artists and the beauty of it is that no one can tell us what we can or cannot listen to.
Since this blog was tied to Brandy’s pics, I am going to comment on Brandy. My Bey posts will be in the Bey section, out of respect to both of the artists. I liked Brandy when I was younger and found that as I grew older, her music seemed to grow with me. I won’t say that I’m a fan of every song that she’s made, but I will say that she has delivered some timeless music. As a mother of a teenage daughter, I can agree with what a few other posters have stated about Brandy’s music being suitable for all audiences, in addition to the positive female image that she displays. Unfortunately, she’s one of many talented female artists who don’t get the recognition that they deserve for providing good music with a clean image. I do hope that this CD does well and puts her back in the limelight where she belongs.
