Here are President Elect Obama’s choices from his new economic team:
New York Federal Reserve Bank president Timothy Geithner (upper L), Treasury Secretary, Christina Romer (lower L) as Council of Economic Advisers Chair, Lawrence Summers (upper R) as director of the National Economic Council (NEC), and Melody Barnes (lower R) as Domestic Policy Council director.

MICHELLE COVERS NEWSWEEK

First lady-elect Michelle Obama is featured in the December 1st issue of Newsweek, available on stands now.

According to editor Daniel Klaidman, “Michelle is about to become the most visible African-American woman in the world. With this exposure, as Allison Samuels observes in her cover essay, Michelle has a real opportunity to alter the world’s image of black women—and to knock down some ugly stereotypes.”

I am so confident that they will get the job done. I only wish my secret lover (lol), Barack Obama could be inaugurated right now so we could get it done. Hopefully, everyone has the best intentions in the new administrations, cause we need some help.

The world has yet to see what Michelle is about! She could be the first woman president in 2012! I think she pulled back when the media took her out of context with the statement about “the first time being proud of my country”! “…But after January 20, 2008, she’s gonna unleash. Jeremiah should have pulled back too until after the election!

    He’ll be back!

I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE OBAMA GETTING A TEAM OF THE BEST PEOPLE, AND NOT A GROUP OF HIS FRIENDS. THIS HAS BEEN THE DOWNFALL OF BUSH AND OTHER PRESIDENTS, OBAMA HAS THE GOOD OF THE PEOPLE IN MIND AND NOT WHO CAN HE HELP IN HIS INNER CIRCLE, WAY TO GO BARACK

its amazing how a beyonce post can get 200 comments in 10mins or less and michelle obama,a woman who is about to become the first black first lady EVER gets so little comments.that to me shows how hard and how long it will take to break the image we black people portray to other folk.we spend so much time talking about being looked down on and assigned to a stereotype yet we do nothing to prove them wrong.so sad…

Michelle O is the business. When I look at her and Barack, I feel so much pride. She, indeed, is a role model for all women. As far as Michelle tearing down negative stereotypes of black women, she can’t do it alone. We ALL have to contribute our part in that. That’s just too much for one woman to bear.

    .HELLO!

its funny that you see hundreds of ppl commenting on the least important articles and when it comes to issues like this, theres never more than 30 comments posted.

at first i didnt like how everyone was liking obama JUST because he was black. I think i was trying to hate him just because of that. But more and more he is really making me love him. he is super intelligent and even if i dont no him personally, i feel he is really genuine or maybe hes just a really good politician. all the moves that hes making is making me come down more and more with the obama fever.

@25 –> I agree with you….I know this is an entertainment blog but damn!! people care more about what theur fav celebs are wearing and what they are doing.

I’m excited about the next few years in America. From what we know about Michelle she’s already shattering sterotypes about “the black woman”. Its just crazy that the media is acting like there aren’t already positive black women in the world spotlight shattering myths about us (Oprah, Condelezza Rice). Nevertheless……I’m proud of Michelle….and her role as a modern day Superwoman.

I’m so proud of Michelle already lol! It is so true, I said it the other day. I think the black woman is the most hated persona in America today. I think Michelle has the power to change that! All the power to her and her husband!

I love seeing this woman. To hear her speak is incredible. I just saw a clip of the interview that Barbara Walter’s did with her, and Barack that airs tonight on ABC (so dont forget to watch it)….anyway I love when she started to speak and Barack just looked at her like he was so enthralled in what she was saying. You can tell that he respects this woman , and he recognizes how intelligent she is. Black women its time to stand up and be the queens that we are. Leave the grinding to single ladies all over the floor to Beyounce who wants to be nothing more than an overexposed, sexed -up blow doll.

A wise man once said “The only safe ship in a storm is leadership.” The American people realize this and that is why we are so fixated on Obama, his message and his plans for our future and our children’s future. That is not to say that everyone is aboard the Obama ship. There are hate mongers and “Hard To Believe Thomases” out there; but then again, great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocrities. The latter cannot understand it when a man does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses his intelligence.

And she’s already doing a good job of knocking down the stereotypes. This is what you need to force on your readers so they can stop all the comparing nonesense. They need to see and hear Michelle.
