U.S. President-elect Barack Obama and First Lady-elect Michelle Obama sat down with Steve Kroft on CBS’s 60 Minutes for their first interview following the election.
Pres. and Mrs. Obama share their thoughts on the final days of the campaign, what transpired backstage while they were waiting for the official results, how they felt when it was official and what their plans are in the coming weeks before the inauguration. Barack should be an inspiration to us all. I don’t believe George W. would have ever been able to handle the questions about his mother-in-law with such tact as Barack did. That is a beautiful example of a strong black man respecting the strong black women in his life.

everytime i see them i find myself loving them more and more. i agree, they’re so relaxed and laid back. i feel like they’re so approachable – great attribute to have!!
i also have to agree that everyone must keep or continue to keep them in their prayers. the world is progressing towards peace, but it’s still not completely there. sadly, idiots are still out there…

Wow! I nearly cried through the interview. I am so proud and honored to be living in this time and blessed to witness such a historic event!!! God is so good! Not only does he know what he is talking about but he has found a sensible balance within all the hoop-la and his home/personal life! I am happy he made it clear don’t expect miracles to happen..however, I believe that if things don’t get worse that’s a miracle and deep in my heart, I believe things will get better. Not the best, but better.
Michelle Obama is my black Ms.Kennedy. What a wonderful role model. She is not intimidated or insecure by her husband’s strength. She knows she’s a bad woman and has no problem saying, “I’m gonna be mommy-in-chief”. That’s whats up! Now that is a serious woman! I love this. Great interview!
