I purchased some of these delightfully cute pastry shoes for my seven year old daughter at the beginning of the school year, however the bottoms are now flapping on both shoes. This has never happened before in any of her shoes, as a black business owner myself I want to support black business and give them one more try.
Has anyone else had any experiences with these shoes good or bad? Maybe, we purchased a bad pair?

If their shoes are already givin problems for the consumers - that cant be a good look. I need these black business people to start ensuring they have some quality products - I love me some Kimora but sometimes you ask yourself will she really wear some of those baby phat or even Kls clothes you see in the stores!

Love Angie, and Vanessa is just okay, a bit in the clouds, but thats okay since shes also classy…The clothes are on the rise, meaning I see peop buying and wearing them, but I have never seen a child or adult rocking the shoes. Ps. KiKi Mo, Kimora is that chick, everything is materialistic eye candy and must have.

The girls are not sitting on their ass living off their parents, they are not on drugs and partying hard, they are not in trouble, they have a career that they creative started, yes they had a platform, but we have seem many celeb kids ruin that platform…they were born in that household and that does not make them a product of…what are they famous for?…HARD WORK AND DETERMINATION…EQUAL SUCCESS, RICH, MIDDLE CLASS, OR POOR.

As a consumer…it is my opinion that if celebrities are creating a label, if I don’t see them rock their own ish….why would I be inspired to rock it. Like why would Vanessa be promoting Pastries and have on Gucci boots….I’d rather have the Gucci boots.

38.

History in the making

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 /

Its true they wouldn’t be business owners without the hand of their father, BUT these girls are establishing careers for themselves. Their making their own money! Unlike the Whoredarshians or HoHiltons who milk thier parents fame!

I think Angela and Vanessa are great role models, they carry themselves well and are ambitious girls. Its also a shame that the media give more attention to Parasite Hilton than they do to the girls who at least have some talent/intelligence.

39.

Mel(The Original)

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 /

21,22,23 you two are haters at their finest! That is not an opinion that is just trash coming out of your mouth. You see how some people on the post made valid points as to some things they may be doing wrong, like not having the best quality or not self promoting your brand at these events, that is positive critisim.

but these girls are hard workers you can clearly see that so stop it. Lets be realistic for a moment eveyone knows in Business it is not what you know it is who you know.

So to sum it up….. cut it out

Happy Turkey Day All!

Why would you wear another designer’s shoes to promote YOUR shoes?

44.

OOOOH Nasty

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 /

The Simmons girls seem like great people but to say they put forth ‘hard work and determination’ is a slap in the face to all designers out there who start out with no name, no connections and establish themselves in the fashion industry. Noted: Angela did go to college for fashion. But lets keep it real. Nepotism & the fact that their family was in the business/famous is the reason they have their own business not because of what they did but who they are, thats just stating facts.

May I add I like the girls, but I don’t like the shoes.

But what shocked me was when 13 year old Diggy announced that he wanted his own clothing line, and that he got one after asking Uncle Russell on just idea/concept alone. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Furthermore don’t label others as haters when they’re stating facts. But ultimately, It is what it is.

45.

i luv their shoes. i have a “different eccentric” style so it works for me

as for the person with bottoms flapping. u probably baoght a bad pair cuz i have 4 pairs and i wear them on the regz and they are still good and i bought mine a year and a half ago. and wear them everywhere cuz i cant afford to be buying shoes that i wear twice a year LOL

46.

ash

Wednesday, November 26, 2008 /

oh and the thing about designers not wearing thier own stuff LOL.

even beyonce wears mama tinas creole creations sometimes.

but imma guess that the girls wanted a more professional look and you cant be all professional with kicks.

I gotta support young, black entrepreneurs!! It’s great to see Angela and Vanessa pursuing their own business ventures, and not just being content to sit back and live off Daddy’s $$. (Like so many of those so-called “socialites”). Kudos to both of them.

50.

You’re full of shit. The most popular “socialites” (Paris and Kim), have probably made more money on their own than both Angela and Vanessa combined.

AND WHY ARE MY DAMN COMMENTS ALWAYS “AWAITING MODERATION”

@ 50 - Too bad those socialites claim to fame was a sex tape and being party animals, and one of those socialites’ had to befriend the other, and ride her fame. Yeah, we should all praise and envy their rise to the top.

. Its also a shame that the media give more attention to Parasite Hilton than they do to the girls who at least have some talent/intelligence.
============================================

I agree with this. It is a shame that they are nice girls promoting a positive image and get little attention, yet the socialites with trashy images, the media shoves them down the public throat, and tries to past them off as ’sweethearts’. If the black girls had a trashy image, they would be unforgiven.

But I still behind what I said about the Simmons children riding their. It would have been nice to see them go out ,w/o asking their dad or uncle for help, and make moves on their own. That’s hasn’t been the case, except for Angela’s modeling and acting career, which she was doing before the show. She did not go to Run and ask for her to hook him up with his connections. She was out grinding on her own. Do you really think that if they didn’t have the reality show to promote the line and sell their personalities, that the show line would be successful - or even exist? They ALL use the show as a vehicle to promote their business ventures. And that’s what reality shows have became for all those that have appear in one, and that’s why so many have jumped on the bandwagon.

55.

ALL CAPS WHEN YOU SPELL THE NAME

Thursday, November 27, 2008 /

It’s funny how all the Simmons chitlins are expanding on buissness ventures. Two have a shoe line, one is pretty much living in the shadows of his father “New Age Run DMC”, and the other one begged uncle Rus for his clothing line.

NEPOTISM riding the coat-tails of your families fame. I think maybe that’s why people can’t take them serious.

I know, I can’t. They’re a joke

Setting a positive example would be going to college, receiving a quality education, and utilizing what you just learned to set up your OWN business ventures.

And i see they’ve received some folks who are jealous of them already. They’re under the age of 25 and Have already received success that a lot of people reach at the age of 25.A lot of people have said sometimes its who you know that helps you make it.Well for them its who they are…their upbringing.Their father and uncle…has given them a chance to succeed and whatever they want to do.You can’t hate on that…

When someone is successful in a family such as the father. And to be an unselfish man like Rev Run.He has given his children a chance to succeed.Russell is their uncle and he is the reason. for the upbringing of pastry kicks as well.He OKed it….

#2 Misery loves company.Don’t hate,Congratulate….
They’re two beautiful young black women
who came up with an idea and seen an opportunity and Took it.

Any who who takes them as a joke is a joke.It is what it is….

I purchased a pair of pastry kicks last yr and will be purchasing some more. They’re good quality sneakers…my sneakers still looking fresh.Might I add that they’re very comfortable as well.My favorite Pair!Purchased them from drjays in NYC.
