Singer Ashanti took part in the Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC on Thursday afternoon. The singer who has a bunch of ventures coming up next year (new shoe line with Kelis and a book) recently took part in the one-night-only Broadway performance of, The Yellow Brick Road Not Taken. During which she was a main singer who closed the show with, “Defying Gravity.”

I’m not an Ashanti fan, but I think she looks nice with or without makle-up. She needs to get rid of the fake eyelashes though. Not really feeling the song either. She could’ve choosen a more age appropriate coat. Her and her mother should have switched coats.

People really get on my nerves. First, ya’ll said that she was a nobody and untalented back in 05-06, now since she’s flopped once again and there aren’t really any new and talented females to listen to, y’all want to miss her again??? I’m glad ashanti finally shut up. She’s so wack and is extremely untalented. Remember that this is the female who always had to try to prove she could sing live. Also, ya’ll bash Cassie for sleeping with Ryan and Diddy to get into this industry but remeber Ashanti did the same thing with Ja Rule and Irv Gotti??? I don’t mean to sound mean, but she’s one of those singers who deserve to be bashed. That’s what she gets for selling sex, computerized songs, and acting like a total DIVA when she was big. BTW, I think she is so unattractive. She looks like Miss Piggy! Why does she always wear those fake eyelashes?

Haters r alive… I saw her at the macy’s day parade and she sounded good singing wise… Way better than rihanna… And I luv my rihanna music. I think most of the hate r coming from the earlier years when she was successful and I have to admit I didn’t see what people saw into her until I got her album recently. Her first album was really good, her second album I will pass, her third album I liked a lot and the fourth one I’m really feeling a lot. If this is what she has in stored for future albums then I’m good. At least I know rnb isn’t dead since we have artist like keyshia cole and ashanti n brandy n monica n jill scott n jazmin sulivan.

Ashanti looks cute in these pics. For those ppl suggesting that she looks “fat,” it’s obvious that she has on several layers of clothes under her coat. (Her face doesn’t look any fuller/chubbier than the last time I saw her). From the reports I saw on TV, it was pretty cold in NYC on the day of the parade. Would y’all prefer Ashanti to pull a “Mariah” and wear hot pants and a short leather jacket in the freezing cold? *SMH*
As for “Crime,” the song didn’t blow me away, but it wasn’t that bad, either. Sounded pretty much like all the other stuff that the young divas-in-training are putting out on the radio these days. (At least Ashanti can sing, which is more than I can say for some of the others). Let’s be honest – the fact that so many people are on here beating her down shows just how fickle music audiences are. 5-6 years ago, Ashanti could do no wrong … everything she and the rest of the Murder Inc. artists touched turned to chart gold. My, how times have changed. Now, the same ppl who couldn’t get enuf of Ashanti have moved onto new “It” girls like Rhianna, Beyonce, etc. Best believe that in 5 years, ppl will be on here dogging them too, and will be onto the next big thing. I’m sorry there is nothing wrong with how ashanti looks, she’s older than some of these singers and still look like she’s in her early teens. Most of these comments r straight hate. Ashanti’s declaration album was a very good album (content and all). People just don’t like her and really slept on a very good album. It was one of the better album in 2008.
Ok all you haters. She look big because she was wearing 5 layers of clothing to keep warm. It was a cold day and she was going to be on a float for about 2 hours. She is wearing heavy make-up because she had a interview on T.V that morning before the parade. If you don’t like the song then that is on you. The coat that she is wearing is Mark Jacob. It was hot and I told her that. The black boots that she had on were also banging. And another thing it is the holiday season red lipstick is appropriate for the time.
