Eric Arceneaux – Honestly
Meet Eric Arceneaux. This New Orleans native is “redefining the term, ‘independent artist’ for a new generation”. As the creator of the Arceneaux Approach, he’s also one of the youngest and most successful vocal coaches in the music industry. Earlier this year, he released his debut album, Audio Emotion, an 11-track self-composed and written blend of R&B, pop and blues with live instrumentation.
When Hurricane Katrina hit, Eric and his family were trapped in an attic for three days in temperatures over 100 degrees. Eric not only lost all of his worldly possessions, but he also lost a very close relative. He began a new life in DC, realizing more than ever just how powerful music could be as a means of healing and a way of release.
He says, “Katrina has really driven the point home to me that you never know what’s gonna happen. So now I feel like this: Screw waiting for people to believe in me; tomorrow is not promised, so I’m making my dreams happen now.” Look out for more of his music in the future; Eric Arceneaux has a story to tell.

I just previewed the album on iTunes….not bad, not bad at all. Infact, I really like: “Already In Love” “Mr. Right” “Honesty” and “Say Goodbye”. Definitely download worthy, he has an amazing voice. In the future, I think Arceneaux should focus on mid tempo song arrangements and ballads, his strength seems to be in the slower songs. I probably would not like him if he had focused on a sound that is too pop or up tempo….his voice is too polished for that. My advice, focus on the grown and sexy sound, keep it there…bring in a live band, some guest appearances and I think you will go further in the public eye. Overall, this artist has more than the average potential, it’s just a matter of him staying in his lane and upgrading the track & sound production .

I watch his vids on youtube. His warm-ups really help my voice in a way I didn’t think! I even purchased his vocal lessons Arceneaux Approach 1 (will be getting next installment soon!) so I can warm up myself while listening to my ipod.
I agree and believe what he believes. Let’s stop waiting for someone to validate us and give us opportunities. Create your own opportunities! Have the mindset of an immigrant and believe anything is possible if you work hard! This is America. Big up to you Eric. I enjoy your vids on youtube and can tell a difference in my voice vocally since I’ve used your “approach”.

Okay I don’t like being a hater and his voice is really great and he knows how to sing.. technically. But he sings with such a poor amount of feeling and he dosnt sound genuine to my ears. Its not just this song but I heard several songs on his MySpace a while ago (cause I loved his voice lessons!) and I thouht the same.

I really like it! I LOVE instrumental music! Beyonce’s HALO couldve been saved if she just stuck to the piano & violin instead of using that harsh beat that overshadowed the instruments.

This is a great song by Eric A. This song is highlights the smooth, clear style that Eric is known for. I have PURCHASED some of his materials from itunes and I listen to them all of the time on my ipod. I think its time that he gets some mainstream recognition. I am tired of these computer enhanced pseudo-vocalists out here trying to dupe people into thinking that they could sing. Ok, enough of that. Support ERIC ARCENEAUX and everything that he’s doing, you won’t be disappointed.
For the singers (and anyone attempting to audition for American Idol) I recommend the Arceneaux Approach vocal series. It is such a big help and soooooooooo affordable.

All hate aside, I thought the song was really boring and off-key. The vocal arrangement and production is not very good at all. I’m also not a fan of an entire song sung in falsetto. Sorry but it doesn’t take much singing talent to sing in falsetto.
On a good note, I did go to his iTunes and he has a few better songs there. This was definitely not the song to peak someone’s interest in him.
