Originally featuring Lil’ Wayne, Keri Hilson’s second single, “Turnin’ Me On,” from her debut album, In A Perfect World… has been remixed with none other than Busta Rhymes, who recently left Aftermath/Interscope Records last summer, and will release his new album, B.O.M.B. next year. I love the energy of this Polow Da Don-produced track and it’s been getting a lot of play in radio and clubs, as well as air play with the video. I think will definitely give Keri the push she needs to make Perfect World… a success when it drops next year.

I haven’t heard her song on the radio although I only listen to the radio when I am on my way to work and usually that is only a two or three song play esp with commercials. I know she has written some hits for others but so far she hasn’t come out with anything that would make want to purchase her CD. I hope she comes with some better music next year since her album has been pushed back.

It’s funny because the only place I hear about Keri Hilson is on blogs like CL. She aint blow up and only a few hundred people are her fans. I don’t mean to be harsh, but she’s a wacka** artist. She can write and can sing, but her voice is boring and her look isn’t that appealing. I can’t stand females who try their hardest to make it in the industry, that they change their sound to something bubblegum. It aint gonna work and I think that Keri needs to just stick to songwriting.

I actually like the remix better than I do the original. Keri just doesn’t have the “it” factor, she can’t dance, her voice is mediocre, and she’s not beautiful. Intro was good (her vocals) only difference and busta replacing weezy nah added yeah and she should have added more vocals/verses cause intro vocals was pretty hot. The problem here isn’t Rihannas vocals. The problem is Rihanna’s style. Nowadays packaging is very important and when you can’t compensate with one, you would have to do it with the other. If you sound like everyone else( regardless of how well you can sing) you have to compensate with a trademark or outstanding style. I have to hear Keri’s album first before I think she needs to sit down as others are suggesting, because I was impressed with her mixtape from last year. But this year, she disappointed me a bit gearing more towards pop. I thought her music would have had more of an R&B feel like the mixtape. This is the only single I’ve liked from her so far.

Ciara’s song didn’t become a promo single until it flopped and her album leaked. Why would the label put all that money in a video like Go Girl if it’s just a promo single? They were planning on releasing it this month.
