MTV STAYING ALIVE T-SHIRT LAUNCH

CL favorite Kid Sister recently hosted MTV’s Staying Alive Foundation T-Shirt Launch. The organization partnered with designer label Trovata who designed a t-shirt currently selling at Urban Outfitters and the MTV Store with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Staying Alive Foundation, which gives grants to young people around the world working on AIDS/HIV prevention.
CORNEL WEST HONORS BIG BOI
Dr. Cornell West, one of the most prolific minds of our time, honors Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, one of the most prolific voices of our time, with the 2008 Renaissance Award at the 20th Anniversary of the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta.

LEXUS’S ARRIVING IN STYLE EVENT

Holly Robinson Peete and fashion designer Kevan Hall co-hosted “Arriving in Style,” presented by Lexus, at the Reagan Center in DC. The cocktail reception preceded a private showing of Kevan Hall’s 2009 Spring Collection and benefited hollyrod4kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for underserved children.
Cathy Hughes, founder of Radio One and TV One, and Dr. Michael Eric Dyson were both in attendance to help support this great cause.
