Alicia Keys got down on stage during her concert at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand on on Saturday, December 6th.

# 59 It is absolutely amazing how you can say let this post be about Alicia when you just spent half your comment talking about Beyonce and being negative about Alicia. Maybe Bey (who has told you people that are not close to her she doesnt like it when you call her that) can learn something from Alicia. If and when the day comes that Bey can quite shake like she does now, what will she do then? Because when she just stands still, she becomes quite “boring”, as you claim Alicia is now. And how do you know that she sits at a piano for two hours? It’s amazing how shaking, oversinging, adding ad-libs and changing 2 or 3 words in already-written songs and jacking from other people makes you an icon/legend. You don’t shoot to become a legend/icon. You just are. Show me where Aretha or Patti or Gladys had to make that statement. Beyonce used to wear braids too. Nobody is questioning her about that. And changing styles? One minute she’s trying to sound like Celine Dion with these power ballads and the next she sounds like she’s straight hood? Please. And she’s always getting “inspiration” from somebody. Can she try being original? And these rumors. If Alicia is gay so what? Whatever is going on with her and Swizz, if its true then she will have to answer for that. It’s been confirmed that Beyonce has had abortions. Plus her and her sister were promoting abstinence when they were both clearly having sex at an early age. And taking 8 years to get married to a known male whore does not make them black royalty. But she does it better right? Whatever.

1. Why is it everyone’s Business if Bey sings at My Presidents inauguration? I hate to bust anyone’s bubble but almost 2 years ago (Jan 2007) Bey was at a fundraiser for Barack at LA Reids house (I think the plates were 2,000 and some change) anyway Barack went up to Bey and told her that he doesn’t normally do this but ‘CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH” (EAT YOUR HEART OUT) & he told her that his daughters LOVE HER. After they were photographed Barack told the photographer ‘I NEED A COPY OF THAT”.
2. VHI has announced that Bey will perform at the inauguration. Sorry guys. But what’s more disturbing is that whenever Bey opens her mouth it’s a media frenzy. Unfortunately she had the nerve to say that she was excited about Barack winning and if he needed her to do anything she would do it – anything from volunteering to performing. She unfortunately said the same thing about wanting to do 3 things before turning 30 – marriage, kids, oscar. OMG why did she say that. Lastly w/ this new album Bey is shooting for becoming a legend, an Icon, instead of just the It Girl. Now in every post people are calling all of these other entertainers Icons and Legends. People need to stay out of Bey’s mouth and stop being critical of everything she says and does. & stop wishing all of these other people were like Bey!
Now since I spoke on that let’s talk about what some people do
3. A-keys is no way shape or form a better entertainer than Beyonce. No way hands down. Yes she can play the piano & yes she has a beautiful voice. But that’s it!. I’m not ever paying to see her sit behind a piano for 2 hours or stomp across the stage off beat. Not interested.
4. A-keys stole angies Stones vision for the Diary of Angie Stone. Angie Stone confirmed that Clive Davis stole that from her and gave it to A-keys. Yeah that’s classy!
5. Home wrecker or not A-keys is not an inspiration to young women where she is prancing around w/ some married man, plus she is a lesbian. One of my best friends mother is a lesbian and confirmed that about A-keys. Hell they hang in the same circle. At least Bey was with Jay for 5 yrs before they got married now that’s an inspiration – Black Royalty.
6.I agree w/ another blogger, she changed from braids and beads – very afrocentric. That NEVER goes out of style, BRAIDS?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME. AKEYS lost her black roots to cross over – no inspiration in that. Stevie wore an afro all his life until he switch to braids and he’s an inspiration to all
7. So from now on let’s keep Akeys posts about Akeys and leave Bey out of it. B/c someone changes into different wardrobes while performing does not make them less classy then a person who sits at a piano for 2 hours. Maybe Akeys could learn alot from my girl Bey.

@63 I’ve been to an A Keys concert and she doesn’t sit behind the piano for two hours! She spends maybe about 20% at the piano. The remainder of the time she is dancing and working the stage. I could care less if she performs at the inauguration or not. She’s not going to be the only one performing anyway..

I absolutely love Alicia Keys. Her music is phenomenal and the fact that she composes the instruments along with orchestras is amazing to me. I’ve been to her latest concert and enjoyed every minute of it. Glad to see her going hard for her charity and I hope she does perform for Obama. I know it will be amazing. Glad that she is also intelligent.
Tyra didn’t make it about her because she’s intimidated of really smart women (the men she thinks she can reduce to flirting with her)…I’ve watched her and she tends to embarrass herself with accomplished women. She either kisses their butt or is weird…
