MINI-ROUNDUP: OBAMA & SMITH NAMED MOST FASCINATING / MOST POWERFUL WOMAN IN ENTERTAINMENT
Monday, December 8, 2008

President-elect Barack Obama and Will Smith are among Barbara Walters’ most fascinating people of 2008. Check out their videos below.
#1 MOST FASCINATING PERSON: BARACK OBAMA
#10 MOST FASCINATING PERSON: WILL SMITH
MOST POWERFUL WOMAN IN ENTERTAINMENT
On Friday, Oprah Winfrey was named the most powerful woman in entertainment on The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power 100 List.
Winfrey’s talk show began in national syndication 22 years ago, and her production company, Harpo Inc., made $345 million last year, which includes her TV show, a magazine and an online store.
The 54-year-old media maven jumped from the No. 6 spot on last year’s list to No. 1 this year, and Elizabeth Guider, editor of The Hollywood Reporter, remarked on Winfrey’s “immense cultural influence” and said she could be “the most influential woman in America.”

will and jada have founded a church that accepts all religions!
that is the most ridiculous thing ive ever heard. accepting another religion means that your not accepting your own religion.
chriitians beleive the only way to God and to heaven is through jesus christ and after jesus accesded into heaven it is our job to spread the gospel. acepting hinduism buddism is failure.

Of course my president elect is the MOST FASCINATING PERSON IN 2008 & for the next 4 years for that matter.
It’s a GREAT time to Be AFRICAN AMERICAN. ALL OF THE ETHNICITIES EAT YOUR HEART OUT.
Before anyone jumps down my throat, it’s ALWAYS great to be an Afr. Amer.
But we are running thiings on all fronts.
Politics - Barack
Movies - Will Smith
Music - Kanye West, Beyonce (based on Billboard charts)
TV - Oprah
Sports - Tiger, Williams’ sisters, Kobe
What did I miss? WE dominate but that’s nothing new. Now we just have to EDUCATE.

***Don’t agree with Will Smith being the most fascinating. As for the other choices,
***i.e., the Double Os, Obama and Oprah, I totally agree with.
***If they do make a movie about Obama, Will Smith shouldn’t even be in contention.
***He doesn’t have that much depth as an actor to pull that off. Remember, Obama
***is one hell of an orator. Will Smith sounds average even when he’s doing
***interviews. And before anyone jumps down my throat, Smith himself admitted
***that he’s not that good of an actor, but he has one hell of a work ethic. I admire
***that in an individual that they are aware of their strengths and weaknesses. It
***speaks volumes about their character.

I agree they are the most fascinatating this year!
Yeah we saw this one coming @ Obama! I guess when the President interrupts your tv show for the next four years I’m sure for the first time people will actually sit down and really listen!!
I think Will can play any role he choses because of his work ethic. Also, because he is so focused he makes you believe in him as the character to me that is a good actor/actress.
I find Oprah amazing and again next to my parents whom are equally amazing she is my shero!

Will made a major comment about marriage “divorce is not an option” People things days do not have that sort of frame of mind when approaching relationships, STARTING A FAMILY and even towards their goals. I know the world is not purely crazy when at least one sexy black man can come out of his mouth and say something like that..I LOVE YOU WILL!!!

#9, are you serious? As a black woman, I have to say im disappointed in that comment. We are not the only reason Obama won. Did you even read your stats when Obama was elected? The majority of the votes were whites. We would not have done it without those other ethnicities. Think about that.
