I appreciate Beyonce’s desire to be a triple threat, but acting is not her strongest attribute. I’m a little bothered that producers could have used any other actress (Taraji, Sanaa, Nia…whomever) and created a quality movie, but instead settled for someone who was more famous but with less acting credibility.

Beyonce’s acting doesn’t come across as believable because of the lack of talent when it comes her acting. From Carmen, to Fighting Temptations, to Pink Panther, etc., I always feel like I’m seeing the same character in each movie (i.e., I’m only seeing Beyonce.) I have yet to see her really transform into a role. I think as a start they could at least change her hair up to give her a slightly different look. I wish people would stop casting her just because her name will help carry the movie.

I AGREE. SORRY I WON’T PAY FOR THIS MOVIE. THIS CONCEPT IS CONSTANTLY REPEATED ON LIFETIME AND HONESTLY EVEN IN THE PREVIEW BEYONCE’S ACTING SUCKS. I THINK I WOULD GET INTO HER ACTING WHEN SHE LEARNS TO PUT HER ACCENT ASIDE LIKE HER CO-STAR IDRIS. IDRIS DOESN’T LOOK AS NICE WITHOUT HIS FACIAL HAIR EITHER.

Beyonce just needs to either get a really good acting coach or throw in the towel. I think when people who try to transition from one genre to another, they should not assume that just becasue they are good singers or actors that they will be able to conquer the other area. i think they are to many good unemployes African American actresses who could have easily done this role. people will be to focused on the fact that Beyonce is trying to act instead of the whole film and the other actors. I hope they did not make to much of an investment in this movie since it is most likely not going to make its money back.

I like the concept of the movie. I’m also glad that Beyonce isn’t singing in this movie, she needs not to do any of those types of movies for a good while if ever again. It feels like she overthinks her lines, overly dramatic.

If this is somehting she wants to do she needs to go all in. Invest her time in an acting class, she has gotten better over the course of her career but thats my opinion. I wonder how an actress like Sanaa Lathan, Nia Long or other talented black actress might have done in this role.

I thought the clip was pretty good….no it’s not Titanic, but I think it will be entertaining. What happened to ppl just wanting to be entertained. Beyonce is a great entertainer. No she’s not the best actor, but she is great entertainer. I really enjoy her on the big screen.

On another note: Have you guys seen “When the earth stood still” Jaden did such a good job, he almost made me cry. And Seven Pounds was good.

To be precise “ENOUGH” was about a battered wife living with a possessive husband, so technically they we’re not the same movie not even to compare. “CADDILAC RECORDS” wasn’t exactly the best movie, but Beyonce is slowly breaking out of her typical singer roles. “OBSSESED” to be exact reminded me of “THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE” without the baby. Every actress should be given a chance Halle Berry played a ghetto black chick in “BAPS” and that wasn’t her best movie either. I am a big Beyonce fan but I must admit that she has very little acting talent. She is the best singer and performer but her acting is much to be desired. I believe she need to focus more on what works instead of trying to conquer it all that’s like Angela Bassett trying to sing and perform.

I am not a Beyonce’s fan,but I do like some of he music. As for the movie, I may watch this movie. This is probably the only movie of hers I would watch. I think she did much better in this one than the others. She was very pretty in the movie!
However, I was not happy with her new cd ( don’t care if it ’s platinum). It didn’t move me at all. I like Brandy and keshia’s cd. Brandy may not sell as many but she had a good cd. I think that Beyonce’s cd has to be for the young people.

the only reason Beyonce was in the movie because she is one of the producers. Beyonce will see her day, when the white folks will throw tomatoes at her and the black people will be laughing right along with them. Maybe if she would be an artist, and not worry about being famous or the richest then she could have a genuinely successful career, and not successful based on million dollar endorsements.

People keep saying Beyonce can act just because she is not singing in this movie hmm let’s go through her movies from Carmen to Dreamgirls she’s being the pretty girl/ singer. In Cadillac Records she wasn’t the pretty girl, but she still sang. In this movie she is not singing, but she is still playing a pretty role so until she gets more challnging roles like how Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson, Sanaa Lathan, Halle Berry and all those other “real” actresses had gotten and not just pretty faces who will get people to watch their movie because their talented not because their popular, but instead are very naural then she can’t be called a “great” actress!! This movie is predictable so I won’t pay $10. For the person who made reference to Jennifer Hudson’s family that was uncalled for. First off Beyonce has been doing this music thing for over ten years so ofcourse she is more accomplished than Jennifer in that. But in acting Jennifer’s got it, first off she has something Beyonce doesn’t have and that is an Oscar, also Jennifer gets roles that don’t involve singing, she is also acting in movies with well established actors which would lead to bigger stuff. She is in a movie “Winged Creatures” with Forrest W. and other great actors.
Yes Beyonce plays music icons in film, but she also produces the movie so I am suspect as to whether she really fought for those roles, which is all part of being a great actress.
p.s. Beyonce did seek out to play in DreamGirls, Bill Condon was not searching for her.Beyonce would be taken more seriously if she got a speech coach, i bet you that character lives in New Jersey and her character still has a southern accent, makes no damn sense.
Lastly Beyonce limits herself because she rather play the pretty glamorous woman than someone who struggles, like someone said she should have played Ali Larter’s character.(but i doubt she could pull it off) Hollywood doesn’t take ger seriously.
