The date for Keyshia Cole’s release of her new album, A Different Me draws closer and closer. She and fan-favorite Lil’ Wayne took a stab at covering Mary J. Blige’s 1994 hit, “I Love You.”
Personally, I’m not really digging this at all. Keyshia sounds a little off on this track to me (kind of like her National Anthem performance this weekend). It’s definitely not her best performance vocally. Something about the track just sounds a really sloppy to me. From what I’ve heard so far, I have really liked the material that I’ve heard from Keyshia’s third studio album, which drops next week, on the 16th. I’m glad she decided to just put this out for the fans.

I’ll be the first to admit Mary is not the greatest singer of all times. BUT, no one sings with as much conviction, soul, and passion as she does. With this track all the Keyshia and Mary comparisons should come to a screeching stop!! There is and will only be one MARY!!!!

I listened to this song twice and i think she should NOT have done that song over… her voice over that beat was definitely not the look … if I was Mary I would have cleared that song… and I dont know about everybody else but Wayne is starting to be a little MUCH…

I agree that Keyshia looked waaaaaaay better before she had the gap fixed. I understand wanting to have a perfect smile but SOMETIMES those little imperfections actually look cute I think. For example, Nas looked fine with the chipped tooth (as does Fabolous) and Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds) doesn’t look right since he had his teeth done. He could have just had the bottom teeth straightened (because they did look like piano keys) but doing his WHOLE mouth was too much I think. (IMHO)

When I heard Keyshia Cole was re-recording this I was so anxious to hear it.Now it’s finally here. I donno, of course im gonna keep listening to it but its not wat i expected. I LOVE YOU is my favorite song by Mary J. Blige for the melodies and the beat. this song has too much hip hop going on. I LOVE YOU was one of those songs where Mary didnt do too much, it was calm and you could feel it. I cant feel this but i love Keyshia Cole and cant wait 2 get the album next week.

I have to agree with posting #8 as well!! I like Keyshia and all but this was one of those classic records that should have been left alone!! I see where they were trying to go from a marketing aspect but I don’t think it worked out too well. I hope the rest of the album is better than this and the other single b/c I realy like her and would like to see her go far as an artist.

i said it once last week and got verbally attacked but im still gone say it again this week. keisha cole cant sing.just like i been saying anyone can get a deal now and days when they got this super cool technology tweeking everybody voices.then when they charge us $25-$50 dollars to see them live we find out the horrible truth..they cant damn sing!!!!!! mary aint no better than keisha.they both make good music we can relate to.but they dont have the voices live that matches the ones on them cds. keisha definitely need a good vocal coach,cause im still trippin off homegirl from her performance at the bet awards.
