Teairra Mari is making her splash back onto the scene next year with a brand new album, slated to be released some time next year. Here’s the new single, “Built For This” that she debuted via her MySpace earlier this week.
You may remember Teairra (formerly the ‘Princess of The Rock’) from 2005, when she released her debut album via Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam. Now, after being dropped from the Roc, Teairra has inked a new deal with Fo’ Reel Entertainment/Interscope Records.

I have always loved Teirra Mari and it’s a shame she fell down and out of the game, because she was a good artist and I loved all her songs.
Remember when her (Teirra Mari), Rihanna (pre-hair cut) and Ameri performed a DC tribute at the AMAs? Ahahahaha… Rihanna couldn’t sing then and she can’t now… Poor Tierra, it was the wrong time to come out. Like, her performance and Rihanna’s performance was no comparison- go check it out. Talented and being a artist with a career with longevity have nothing to do with one an other.

I don’t know. I’m really rooting for her after how they did her but I find the song a little boring. The beat’s nice but after listening to it for a minute or so, I stopped listening…while the song was still on.
I hope her other material is good. Her first single from this album wasn’t bad.

Rihanna became the success story because her sound connected with Middle America. Pon De Replay, If It’s Loving That You Want—all them from her first record and from then on…they had enough crossover appeal for white people to jam to. Teairra is the better singer, but she was using way too much profanity on that album and she was like 17!!!!!! That’s crazy.
Wouldn’t be surprised if T was bitter of Rhi, especially when she was being groomed by Jay as the next hot thing, only for your album to flop and get dumped the label.
The record was just a competent first effort. I don’t know if America will give her another shot. Does she even have a video out?

That picture is ugly! She looks so weird. I never thought she was cute, even when she first came out. I always thought that she looked like a bratz doll/alien. I’m surprised we actually heard some new music from her. This chick is another wackass untalented female trying to make it in the industry. Her stank attitude is what got her in trouble. I remember I had a friend who lived in Detroit and told me how everybody was talking about how rude she was. This single is horrible. I stopped it after 30 seconds. She can’t sing. She sounds so deep and flat.

This song sound like some copy cat ish. Yes it does sound like the Jordan Sparks song. I hope this is a song just to let people know she’s still alive and nothing else. Girl is young, pretty, fit, and vocally talented. But of course it’s more than that. It’s having the the right team that know both MUSIC and business (promotions, etc.), and to get that, u need a miracle. Anyhow, we know why Rhianna surpassed her former peer. We know her and Jay had a “special” connection.

This song fits her experience over the last few years. I think it’s the PERFECT comeback single and I know ALOT of people can/could relate to it. She sounds beautiful and it’s a more mature record. Rico Love and Teairra works really good together. Can’t wait to hear more of their collaboration.

I bought her first album and I instantly like a few songs. I just believe she picked the wrong label to sign with in the begining. Her star didn’t shine so bright cause the marketing people groomed her to be this hardcore chick from the hood while the other female singer on the same label was groomed to be the sweetie pie with the sugary fun lyrics. This time I hope her people get it right and myabe she’ll find a lane to be successful in.

This is the problem now! So many people think because they have watched making the band and read a few blogs that they know the business! What happened to actually just listening and taking in the feeling of a record? The first comment made was about her press photo and nothing else:( but that will be the same person that when another artist is posted, will talk about how a artist is only respected because of the look and how unfair it is. Lol this is why everything in music is so distorted. Somewhere along the way people started expecting artists to be everything but….musicians.
