Actress Taraji P. Henson (pictured above at an ‘Benjamin Button’ screening in NYC last week) received three nominations on Thursday for the upcoming Screen Actors Guild Awards. Two for her performance in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (best supporting actress and ensemble cast) and one as part of the “Boston Legal” TV series ensemble.
Other notable nominees included, Phylicia Rashad for Best Actress in a TV Movie for ‘Raisin in the Sun’ and Viola Davis for Best Supporting Actress in a motion picture for ‘Doubt’.

@6 WHY?!!!!! WHY did you have to take it THERE?
I feel you #1. In my mind, she will always be Jody’s old lady, Evette..lol
It’s been a long journey for Taraji P. Henson….She’s been in the game for a very long time…happy to see her finally being rewarded for her hard work….congrats!!!
@ 11 I’m not sure what you are talking about. I just know she has done well in Baby Boy, Hustle and Flow and each character that she plays is different. All I am saying she is truly a good up and coming actress and I glad to see her playing different roles.
Congrats to Taraji! It’s about time. It’s really astounding the number of projects she is involved in. She really plays in ALOT of projects and most people don’t realize it until after the fact. She reminds me of almost the Lil Wayne of acting–She in EVERYBODY’s movie. lol.
In any case, I love Taraji so more power to her. Congrats to the other nominees!
She looks so beautiful lately. And I LOVE her hair!
I agree she has come along way! Good for you Taraji!
Love the hair and make-up!! Not feeling the dress though. . .
@14, I was referring to your comment:
“I bet they weren’t going into the movie like I’m gonna get nominated for this or that.” Which is a flagrant insinuation that there are certain actresses out there (whose name I won’t give mention) who have mentioned they wanted accolades for their work, without giving too much of a damn about the craft of acting…we all know which actress you were referring to…
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about” my a*s…
I’d always love this woman ever since “Baby Boy”. Her career is now about to be jump started. Plus she’s from Washington DC.
Hey I’m just saying I never really heard any actress blatantly say I want to win an this or that. I’m just saying most are humble and let their work speak for themselves.
Congrats Taraji!
She have good movie roles and her and Jamie in Just Like You video was HILARIOUS!
Keep doing ya thang mama!!! U look WondeRful!!! True ACTING Talent unlike those wannabes.
HARD WORK PAYS OFF. CONGRATS!
I AM KINDA PISSED SHE DIDNT GET NODS FOR THE GLODEN GLOBES THO.
BUT HEY ITS THE BEGINNING.

Some people are nervous about recognizing a character that some might say paints a stereotypical portrait of us…You know, those were the roles black actresses played back in the day… HOWEVER, I think people will come to their senses and get over their apprehension because she looks to have done a remarkable job in the movie…. I don’t think people should fear what she’s done…if it’s artistic and brilliant, she should be recognized for her work. You know, women like her character lived and had heart and determination…she shows us all that…it’s nothing to shun or avoid. I’m proud of her.
I have always liked Taraji since baby boy too! I think she is so talented and beautiful she reminds me of a female Terrance Howard (i know a lot of people don’t like him) He caught my eye back in the day when he was in Mr.Holland Opus and throughout the years I have watched him in movies and wondered why nobody was giving him his props like Taraji!
Congratulations! 2009 is gonna be big!
