The cover of the Dec. 8 issue of The New Yorker features President-elect Barack Obama vetting the First Puppy. The term “vetting” actually means “to submit an animal to examination by a veterinarian”.
Barry Blitt drew the cover and is the cartoonist responsible for the controversial terrorist fist-jabbing cover earlier this year with Obama and First Lady-elect Michelle Obama.
Regarding their pick for a pup, the Obamas have stated they want a mutt, but that it needs to be hypoallergenic and won’t be a girly dog.
RICE TO BE UN AMBASSADOR
Dr. Susan Rice – no relation to outgoing Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice – is slated to become the U.S. face at the United Nations.
An ex-National Security Council member and former assistant secretary of state, Rice worked as a top foreign policy advisor to the campaign of President-elect Barack Obama.
In 1997, Rice became one of the youngest assistant secretaries of state. She was a Rhodes Scholar in 2000, and was honored with the NSC’s Samuel Nelson Drew Memorial Award for distinguished contributions to the formation of peaceful, cooperative relationships between nations, and U.S. security policy for global peace.

REPLACING RANGEL
Charles Rangel, chairman of the Ways and Means Committee, is under investigation by the House ethics committee, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she will wait for the investigation to be completed before taking action.
Earlier this year, news broke that he allegedly failed to pay federal taxes on rental income from a Dominican Republic villa he owns.
Pelosi doesn’t want Rangel’s problems hanging over House Democrats and said a decision on Rangel is expected early 2009:
“In September, I called on the House Ethics Committee to look into issues raised by news reports on Chairman Rangel. This followed up on the chairman’s own request for an investigation by the Committee. I have been assured the report will be completed by the end of this session of Congress, which concludes on Jan. 3, 2009. I look forward to reviewing the report at that time.”
MCCAIN RUNNING AGAIN?
John McCain recently held his first press conference since the election. When asked if he would ever run for president again, the Arizona Senator seemed to find the idea so funny that he could barely get out any words. Finally, he managed to say, “I do not envision a scenario that would entail that.”

An American Citizen
Obama is definitely focusing on having a staff with a balance of experienced and fresh young minds. In this way he can learn from the veterans and also teach and empower the overly ambitious young people around him. Good move if you asked me.
As for the dog of choice, I agree with Obama. I own a Rottweiler and before him, I had a German Shepherd. My dog is the scariest thing to those who is not used to him, but at the same time, he is the gentlest creature you’ll ever come across. I cannot stand those so called “lap dogs.” They can’t protect shit.
As for Charlie, you cannot put the fox in charge of the hen house. This is the guy who wrote the tax laws and he isn’t paying his taxes. This guy needs to go.

First, there are many reasons why Obama is considered black. But I’m not going to go into that because it’s just plain ridiculous to do so.
However, he is considered to be the ‘first black president’ because out of all the other 43 presidents he is the first one to be mixed with at least 50% of black. That is enough to make him the first black president.
And saying that him and Michelle are the first interracial couple is straight up stupid b/c from my understanding, interracial dating/marriage is between one person who is fully one race and another who is not of that same race. For example, Obama’s dad (African) and his mother (white).
