We posted about new Teairra Mari material a couple weeks ago, but here’s a new track from her upcoming album entitled “Hunt 4 U.” Even though I haven’t really been digging the way his label has tried to promote him (with all the fake candid photos, etc.), I am actually digging this song for Teairra. Musically, it’s different from what she was doing on the first album, but I actually think the sound is a lot more mature for her. It’s got that pop potential that she needs to be relevant in music today.

“This Is Why I’m Hot” rapper Mims is doing his best to make a splash back onto the scene with former Destiny’s Child bandmate, LeToya Luckett, who is also working on a new album to drop sometime in ’09. Of course, I thought Mims was going to be a one-hit wonder, but it looks as though they labelmates have come together with this new track to begin the promo trail for his new album, which will drop sometime next year. Although it’s not really my cup of tea, I can definitely see this song getting spins. It’s a pretty radio-friendly track. Hopefully it will garner Luckett some buzz too for her new single.

As I’ve stated before, I’ve never really been a huge fan of Plies; sometimes his music is just a little too much to listen to, everything always seems to be really sexually explicit. However, on this track, I can definitely see how people would love it. With Ashanti on this hook, as well as the sample of Babyface’s “Two Occasions,” I can see the clubs and radio eating this new J.R.-produced single up. I can’t really see myself jamming to this song, but I won’t lie, this is another track that will make for good radio play.

Is she serious? I hope this wasn’t a contender for songs that will make the final cut of Cassie’s new album, which is set to drop sometime in ’09. With the failure of her single, “Official Girl,” which surprisingly featured Lil’ Wayne, she needs to come a little harder than this for material. I was interested to see what direction this song would go with it’s minimalist, retro production. It sounds like The Dream is responsible for this as well (you can hear him on backgrounds). Nice try, Cassie, but we’re not buying it…

Im in LOVE!!!! I cant stop singing the hook. “Hunt For You” is one of the hottest songs i heard in a long time. its very catchy and I know once its on radio, it will do well. I have never heard of Teairra Mari before, but im definatley gonna look out for her!!!!

I also liked Ashanti on the other song. I liked the song with Plies about his hands(mostly just because Ima freak! ) uh, hmmm….But no Plies, enough is enough….get another subject please or at least learn a little more tact. His lyrics are a bit much for these teenagers out her…now me Ima grown a** women in my 30s so I can handle it…but tone it down for the kids please. Thanks! Oh, yeah and Teirra’s song is not like any other out here…..the concept sounds all new and I keep playing this song!!! Her voice is addictive on this song! I hope this becomes a big hit for her!

Teiarra Marie-I don’t like the song. If Pleasure was not on it , another verse was added, and the “A” chants were gone, I think I would have liked it. Pleasure didn’t add to the song , and can’t sing to me anyway.H is voice is too nasally. Those “A” chants in the song have been on just about every R&B and rap song for the past few years. It needs to be put to rest. She should have went with “Built For This” as the first single. That’s good comeback song and it’s inspirational. I agree #4 she does sound like Keri Hilson on this.
Mims-It’s actually not that bad, but it’s not something I would bump. It would have been better off an R&B song with just LeToya on it.
Plies-I agree with Brian, Plies’ songs are too much for me also. This song is the same old formula as the others. He can’t rap and he’s always using R&B singers for hooks on his singles, pretty soon he just might run out of them. I hate that he used sampled Babyface’s classic song. He already ruined Janet’s classic “Come Back To Me” as a sample on that awful Bust It Baby remix SMH. Man I hope commercial rap gets better in ’09.
Cassie-Diddy continues to waste money on this girl. I think he’s trying to make her another Aaliyah, but it won’t work. SMH. Just sad. The song is pretty nice though if it’s sung by someone else. This should go to a young singer who actually has talent, such as Ke Ke Plamer, Karina Pasian, or Tiffany Evans.

I give Ms. Mari props for not letting that bull that happened to her stop her from doing her thang. When it comes to singing, she def. has talent and she’s a beautiful young lady. The song is okay but it’s not my cup of tea. I didn’t listen to Piles because he’s another waste of human flesh therefore I would NOT waste my time on him. I didn’t listen to Mims either but that’s because I don’t like rap. I was gonna listen to Cassie BUT I think I’ve heard another jokes today lol.
Also Brian, do me a favor. Stop using “radio friendly” as a compliment. IT’S NOT! The crap on the radio is exactly that… CRAP. If I was an artist and someone reviewed my music to say it “belongs on the radio,” I would be pissed. Maybe I wouldn’t be if the quality of music nowadays was better but let’s face it… it’s just not.

the reason why cassie didn’t stick to modeling is b/c she’s average at that too. yes she’s a really pretty girl but to make it big in modeling and get jobs with ppl like marc jacobs or alexander wang you have to be more than pretty; she used to model for delia’s and that’s a catalog. that’s nothing. i think she should go back to school and get a regular job b/c this industry stuff isn’t working for her

Saw Cassie’s video for Official Girl and they are hyping her as a knock off Aaliyah. She has tried to copy Aaliyah’s style and dance moves, however she can’t pull it off. Cassie doesn’t have Aaliyah’s vocal range nor dancing ability. Maybe they should get R Kelly to produce her since she has the flat chested -boy’s body look that he prefers. I believe he is the only one who can turn this talentless fraud into a hit-maker. Yes, she kinda resembles a Filipino boy.

I’m not gonna lie, Cassie does have a charm about her with her music. Sometimes her songs make me laugh, but she rides this song ok. I must say she is at least improving. And Official Girl took a looonnggg ass time to grow on me, but it eventually did!

Teairra Mari’s ghetto a** friends and or family need to leave this site! Cuz you know that’s who’s praising her on here and calling everyone haters, this doesn’t apply to people who say they actually like the song. The single is horrible and sounds like everything that has been put out. It reminds me of Chris Brown’s Forever. What she’s trying to do this time around is get on females like Rihanna and Beyonce’s level by releasing crossover songs to the TRL audience and it doesn’t work for her at all. The Teairra Mari joint is hot! But Pleasure did kill me with the f bomb. I hate hearing people sing curse words! I love Letoya Luckett but I am not sold on Mims yet although I do believe he has nice flow. But the song sounds like many R&B rap songs before. Nothing interesting.
