Earlier this week, Soulja Boy, 18, sent out a viral video apology to all his fans and anyone he has offended this year.
I’m really happy he sent this video out because I like to support all artists and ever since that “shout out to the slave masters” comment he made back in October, I said I would never talk about him on this site again.
Good look Soulja Boy, I hope this new found look on life is a blessing for you.

I never heard about that comment but I hope he is sincere though.
That is seriously the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard.
don’t believe it…..NEXT
OHHHHHHHHHHHH BOY HERE WE GO AGAIN WITH THESE LOPSIDED RETARDED COMMENTS COMING OUT OF CELEB’S MOUTHS!
The Shout out to the slavemaster’s thing .. we shouldn’t be blaming him … it’s the damn school system … DAMN OBAMA GOT SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH WORK TO DO!
bull. so he sends an apology and promotes at the end? dafuggouttahere….i cant BELIEVE i was one of those grown ass ppl that luved that damn crank dat song…..his statement was ignorant and imho aint no amount of apologies gonna help that…..
lmao
This is what happens when lost souls breed lost bastards. Dumb ass slave boy.
PREJUDICE WHITE PEOPLE ARE TO BLAME FOR ALL OF THIS. THOSE COCK SUCKIN BASTARDS HELD US BACK FOR SO LONG. NOW THAT WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT, WE HAVE NO MORE EXCUSES. LET’S GET EDUCATED BLACK PEOPLE AND START HANDLING OUR RESPONSIBILITIES. ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE IF YOU WORK HARD AND HAVE FAITH.
I mean think about it he is bascically a child, and will say and do stupid stuff that he will regret, his ass would not have lasted in those slavery days, well you know he probably would be a little smarter and learn how to hold that tongue of his.
Larissa everyone already know about your pregnancy and frankly no one cares so please stop announcing it over and over, who ya baby daddy, or do you even know!?!
Soulja Boy needs to site down somewhere. That apology was as fake as he is. His music had been crap, is crap, and will be crap from now til the end of time.
sit*
i saw souljah boi randomly at the mall last week (pg plaza, md). i guess he was there for promotion, but not that many ppl came out. he had the biggest attitude. like me and my girl were looking at him for 5 minutes and he didnt crack a smile. if he wants to set a better example for the kids start with showin love to fans. maybe it was a bad day but it affected my impression of him.
I’m surprised to hear that he said that, especially after how he checkmated Ice-T with his comment about supporting the young black male. Unfortunately, he just said what alot of black people actually believe in their subconscious but don’t realize they believe. Everytime a black person thinks that they want to be “equal” with white people, or that they want all races to “come together”, or that they want to “be respected in America”, they are actually saying subconsciously what Soulja Boy said which is “Thanks da goods masta fo’ takin’ dis plate out my lip and puttin’ clothes on me….”, lol. That’s just as much a slap in the face to the ancestors that were hung, raped, burnt, and lynched as what he said. Then those same blacks will talk about how we need to “kill the terrorists”, lol. Most black people want to be recognized by the white man and have him give them a hug (and a job, lol) so that their own feelings of inadequacy, inferiority, and displacement can be resolved in their own mind. Most black people who think they know black history actually don’t know a damn thing anyway, so they’re no better than this dude.
COON COON COON COON COON
I swear, this ingrate would be juggling watermelons if it meant he didn’t have to be po’ no mo’.
Shut up little boy…school will do you good.
to
SaloneGal:
That must have been a bad day for dude, cause i met him as well at a album signing and dude is madd humble. And big ups to you for admitting your faults and working on em
this is basically what happens when an immature uneducated idiot gets a platform. The problem is a bunch of kids listen to his music and believe everything he says. Souja boy is an idiot.
OK, lets put this video is some context, and lets take Soulja Boy up on his new commitment.
1. Soulja Boy seems nearly illiterate, and age simply isn’t an excuse because several people his age are getting a decent education and can properly put words together in a coherent sentence.
2. Soulja Boy can learn more about his community and get more involved in the black community. Humility towards your fans is not community service.
3. Soulja Boy could learn the history of music, there was folk, jazz, blues and r&b before there was hip-hop, it would behoove him to figure out how hip-hop spawned from these other art forms.
4. Soulja Boy could find a good mentor, someone such as Kanye West would probably be a good idea, esp. since Kanye ran to his defense with the whole ICE-T situation.
5. Soulja Boy could study business so he actually knows what he is doing with his career. Marketing and Public Relations classes might help him to actually have an opinion on how to protect his public image.
There is so much work to do with this kid, lets just start there.
TO SOULJA BOY.. ITS COOL STAY IN SCHOOL.
ANYTHING FOR MORE PUBLICITY, CUZ OBVIOUSLY THATS THE ONLY REASON HES FAMOUS
Can someone fill me in on what he actually said? I don’t follow him
Nevermind you guys, I checked the link…I knew there was a reason why I didn’t like his music. Whoever said he needs a mentor is right on.
i watched the video. not once did he go back to retract what he’d said prior. he apologized for the offense it might have caused. i’m sure people who commit hate crimes regret the publicity they get, but not the acts the earn it. let that marinate.
why didn’t anyone catch on sooner that this was a ridiculous person to be at the front of everyone’s consciousness? or that he wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box? or that these facts combined could prove dangerous?
let’s start looking a little more critically at what’s happening IN PLAIN SIGHT so that we don’t have to be reactive and act appalled at what is really just shameful.
Im lost maybe i didnt hear this comment, can the ppl of cl fill me in, thanks
soulja boy was reading from cue cards hes not smart enough to come up with that apology
i dont believe anything that he just said on that video….next month he’ll have another song out disrespecting females and nobody will even remember his apology….
i had never heard about that comment he made about slave masters, damn he’s ignorant for that one……thats sad
WOW PARENTS ALLOW THERE KIDS TO LOOK UP TO HIM… THATS WHERE THEY NEED TO INTERVENE! OK I CAN SEE LISTENING TO HIM BUT DAMN!
AND HE ALWAYS SAY HE FOR THE KIDS HOW IS SHE GOT A DONK, AND SUPERMAN THAT HOE FOR KIDS LOL
I thought Interscope screwed up on this one. Let Soulja Boy be Soulja Boy and direct all that PR energy on something worthwhile.
Angel, thanks for the link love.
YOU CANT BE SERIOUS THIS RETARD IS OFFICIALLY A DUMMY…
JUS LIKE THE OTHERS SAID I DONT BELIEVE ANYTHING HE SAID…
HOW CAN YOU MAKE A SONG LIKE “BLOW MY BOOTY HOE” ???
AND HIP HOP IS DEAD IF THEY LET THIS LIL DUDE COME AND CHANGE HIP HOP THATS THE PROBLEM NOW ANY AND EVERY BODY IS GETTING FAMOUS!
THIS THE LINK http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc3_mH0GDEg
As long as he keep showing that big ass dick I’m kool
@”Jeff”
What????
Another controversy. First Yung Berg, then Neyo now this fool. SMH. Our black race needs education before there is nothing left of us
@ 32- It is definitely too much!!!
what is going on??? Listen folks, this is not Obama’s job! He has explained that he can only do so much. It’s called parenting! Talk to your kids. You can get a book from a local library. It is not the school system’s job to raise these folks!
I am in shock! What is really happening?!?! Between Neyo and this fool, I feel like we are truly going reverting!
Slavery as we choose to understand it is over, but the slavery that we refuse to admit to still exist. This never-ending slavery is the slavery of the mind. Our ancestors were released from their physical bondage and we ended up in mental bondage. This bondage is caused by our lower desires. Our lower desires being our hatred, envy, lust, and jealousy of one another. This bondage is caused from a lack of understanding ourselves.
What I hate is ignorance, smallness of imagination, the eye that sees no farther than its own lashes. All things are possible …Who you are is limited only by who you think you are…I hope each of us can help one another to change this way of thinking…
Like the late great Bob Marley sung, “Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds!”
Judah! You are dumb as hell!!!! How is wanting equal rights playing Sambo?????? Please tell me you are white or anything other than black! Please.
Do you live in America Judah? Take your advice and move back to Africa! Based on your argument that would be the best way to prevent yourself from huck a buckin with the whites! Right? LMBO!
You are crazy!
I HOPE SLOJA BOY SELLS THAT MILLION HE WANTED TO CELL IN A WEEK.
HE THAT IS WITHOUT SIN , CAST THE FIRST STONE. THIS IS A CHILD THAT MADE OVERNIGHT STARDOM.HE’S LIVING AND LEARNING.GOSH YOU GUYS ARE SO HARD ON HIM.THERE A PEOPLE TWICE HIS AGE MAKING BUTT HOLES STATEMENTS.NOW FROM THEM THERE IS NO EXCUSE.I REMEMBER BEING 18 AND I WAS SOME KINDA LOOSE MOUTH FOOL. MATURITY BRINGS ABOUT A CHANGE. (KEEP YOUR HEAD UP SOULJA)
omg! I love it! good 4 him..he seems so authentic and sincere.
I have a new found respect, that’s maturity…
How convenient of him to release this video when he has an album to promote. I highly doubt this was a coincidence. true he’s making an effort, but I don’t think it’s sincere.
Clearly Soulja boy is without mature guidance – and he previously apologized for the slavemasters comment, but that may have been because the pressure he was getting on it, more than his honestly being sorry he made the comment.
The bottom line, he is still a child, rich and famous, but still a child. He is immature and the people who are peddling and pimping him, don’t seem to care about him as a young man, but only about the money he can make for them.
That is more tragic than his ignorance.
Canadian/Jamaican/Nigerian #34 WOW GREAT REPLY!!! I TOTALLY AGREE
SOULJA BOY (SHAKES HEAD) I DON’T BELIEVE ANYTHING HE SAID.. WAS HE READING FROM A PROMPTER?
supa soak the one hit wonder.
@35
In a society, you are either on the top, somewhere in between, or on the bottom. There is no such thing as equality except in mathematics, and in that case, one thing can only be equal to itself. Black people do not have a ruling class mentality and this is why black people are still slaves. Even under the laws of this land, we are not judged, sentenced, or exonerated equally for the same crimes or infractions, and the laws are the only way to quantify equality. What our people are then left to do is worship money or materialism based on the images put forth on television which is why Soulja Boy has the mentality that he has. He is an 18 year old boy and there are black people on here speaking as if they are more enlightened than him. Most of you; particularly you most of you black women, are dumb as a pile of rocks and could not teach that young man anything other than what he is already doing, that being worship this society and the white man.
At least he is intelligent enough to understand that the whites are the ones that have established these images i.e. tattoes and “bling”, as things that negroes lust after. He’s ahead of the curve and more astute than a jackass like yourself. He has apologized, move on. You on the other hand, and many other black people will be the same monkeys that will say “who are you to judge another person”. Hypocrites. I myself feel more sorry for him than angry because only a truly delusional and defeated entity would say what he said. He, as a man that young to think those type of things, shows that these issues in the black community are cyclical and cannot be rectified on a one by one basis. The adults have to be taught before he can be taught because the black adults are dumber than the children in many cases.
OKAY, SO HE’S APOLOGIZED, NOW LET’S SEE IF HE FOLLOWS THROUGH. CAUSE THIS GOOD BOY IMAGE DIDN’T WORK FOR LUPE FIASCO, BUT I SAY HEY, GIVE IT A TRY.
Guess them checks starting to dry up!
I’m just Kidding. Nah, I give him credit for doing this (regardless of his intention) its more than a lot of rappers would do.
He’s young, got new money, and having fun – its expected that he’ll do some stupid things.
okay, he apologized, so now we can dance to him yelling “superman that ho”…whateva.
it’s funny how this statement offend us, but we’ll still go spend our hard earned money buying all types of offensive music. smh
This boy needs Jesus!!!
I would never support his music I simply can’t understand why anyone would
I hadn’t heard of the comment Soulja Boy made until today. When I read it I had to stop and just shake my head. “…we wouldn’t be here to get this ice and tattoos.” Because you know life is just about getting ice and tattoos. In any case, I’m glad he apologized.
That apology was so written by his label and so not sincere. I’m not beat.
This is so scripted. What is really good??? His 5 minutes were up like back in the summer.
Curious, what did Neyo do???
He is so sad, u can just see the way he was talkin and just sitting there that it wasnt sincere. His record lable is the one that put him p to that and made him do it, we all know he didnt think of apologizing on his own…. He probably wouldn’t have either if nobody twold of told him. In every sentence all he kep say was “the kids love me” and so on. He needs to grow up and watch what disrespectful things comes out his mouth
Whether or not he was sincere, I still say “WOW”! The oldheads haven’t stepping up, but this young man has. I commend him on his effort and hope that he holds true to his newfound credo. If he doesn’t he’ll be slapped in the face by the memory of this PSA.
Judah has a point. His comment may not be targetting specific people on this page, but what about the millions of confused black folks out there? Too often folks go out on a witch hunt against black celebrities who say ignorant things (Soulja Boy and his comments about the slave masters or Yung Berg talking about dark skinned women), yet their opinions are shared by millions of other uneducated black people who think the EXACT SAME THINGS, only difference being they’re not important or famous enough to be heard.
Ask many African American kids about Africa, they’d probably say the same shit as Soulja Boy.
i was happy to hear him say that parents and guardians should be the role model of their children. i’d have a problem with my child (hell, my dog.. )”being in love” and having soulja boy tell em’ as a “role model”.
but good for him. with his retarded ass.
I am glad to see that a celeb is taking responsibility for what they create. Unfortunately as black people, we do not have the luxury of “freely expressing” ourselves because society clumps us in a group. Individuality is not an option for black people, therefore, we have to be conscious of the images that we produce and what effects they will have. You know the saying, when one acts up, we all act up. That is the case for blacks. It’s sad but true.
I know parents should be the role models, but if we are honest there is a break down in the family structure in not just the black community, but in all communities. I am a teacher, and our educational system is steadily reflecting a lack of traditional family values. I have 130 children literally because there are so many parents who are trying to be their kids friends because the parents are children themselves. There are children who have to take care of all of their siblings, no father figure or positive male role model present, and the list goes on. When that happens, children are grasping for anything, and anyone. Our celebs need to understand the awesome responsibility they have whether they want it or not.
Judah and Greatest love hve apoint. most black kids can only go as fr back as MLK. In fact, I bet most of them think that Africa is a country , African is a generic language , everyone lives in mudhuts and walk around like those warriors in Kanye’s video, and that ‘Roots’ is something found at the bottom of a plant. Sad thing is, SB’s comments are probly shared by a lot of blacks. Dunno about here in the UK but it obviously shows the quality of education being received.
His music is crap still though and its convenient he has an album to promote.
what song is that at the end?
Well i always though this boy was a DAMN fool and this jst confrims it, he CANT dance, he CANT sing and he defo CANT rap, ha and whoever said hip hop is dead?
HE APOLOGIZING BC HIS PLATINUM IN A WEEK PROMOTION WAS AN UTTER FAILURE.
