VIDEO/POLITICS: IRAQI JOURNALIST THROWS SHOES AT BUSH
Sunday, December 14, 2008
Watch as President George W. Bush ducks two shoes thrown at him by an Iraqi reporter during a press conference in the Iraqi prime minister’s office to mark the signing of a security agreement.
“This is the farewell kiss, you dog,” the man shouted in Arabic.
Bush wasn’t hit, and announced “I’m okay” after the incident. He added, “All I can report is it is a size 10.”
According to CNN, Hurling shoes at someone, or sitting so that the bottom of a shoe faces another person, is considered an insult among Muslims.

This would have been funny if it was an SNL skit, but in real life it’s extremely disrespectful and dangerous. I detest Bush as much as anyone, but he’s still the President and that guy was out of line, period. His security detail needs to reprimanded if not fired. What if it had hit him and seriously injured him? That was a dangerous situation, wtf were they all doing in the back room? This really makes me fear for Barack’s safety. He’s going to be subjected to as much hatred if not more, as Bush just because of his race, so we shouldn’t be celebrating when BS like this happens, because it encourages this type of ignorant and dangerous behavior. And that’s real.

Why do some of you feel sorry for Bush?
Shoot, he don’t feel sorry you, lol.I mean he’s not the one who’s facing an economic burn down.
Secondly, he spent millions of money in a country who wasn’t a target.
And the man who probably threw the shoe probably had a family member(s) who was killed during this whole stupid war.
And you feel sorry for him?
LMAO.Someone give me a rock.

I dislike Bush as much as the next person. However, I feel that the American people are primarily to blame for the disaster that is Bush’s presidency. We elected this man to lead us not once, but twice. He could have never made some of the mistakes he has made if we did not let him. Of course that does not take accountability from Bush as an elected public servant. I think we as a nation look foolish, no, outright stupid for re-electing Bush. After all, we are the nation that tried to impeach a man who was doing a pretty damn good job for having an affair.
Anyway, I’m surprised this even happened. With an approval rating as low as Bush has I would have expected his security to be tighter. Sucks for him…

i notice a lot of people keep commenting about how slow the secret service reacted. You all have to realize when that press meeting was going on that was prolly the most secure place in the world at that time. Those people have to go thru all kinds of shake downs and machines before they are even admitted into that room. So the last thing the secret service was expecting was for this man to take off his pumps and hurl them at the president.
It coulda been a camera fa real..lol..a pencil..but it sure wasnt gonna be anything that could seriously take him out trust me on that..they are not stupid lol

I am choking on my own words, and I know that this does not include the people on the CL, but you know what, I don’t feel completely sorry for this country. President Bush had a POOR record of leadership going into the White House. Every company that he every lead, he ran it to the ground just like he did this country, and yet he not only received the electoral vote in 2004, but the popular vote too. In this country’s arrogance, the citizens wrote their own obituary putting their trust in a white man. So, hey, I’m not made at President Bush, I’m mad at the people who re-elected him.

@ Urbanchick…
I feel you sis…Bush won the second term because John Kerry did not mobilize the masses, mainly African Americans. Kerry quickly lost people’s support and he made himself a pariah among the Latinos when he said he would deport illegal aliens. As wrong as it is, whenever you hear illegal aliens in this country, everyone starts pointing at Hispanics. Hispanics aren’t the only ones here illegally. So he lost their vote. Black people were not moved by him and they basically felt that they did not have a choice in the election. It was either vote for the devil or one of his disciples, and many black folks, like me, chose not to. Frankly, the first ballot I ever casted was for Barack Obama.
What I am saying is, Bush won by default because at that time the fear monger, blood thirsty, racist white people…um, I mean republicans, were flying high in 2004 and Bush won. Now I am glad, the world has seen the ugly offsprings the people who were in bed with the Bush and Cheney administration have produced: Recession, record jobless claims, foreclosures, 4500 plus soldiers dead, countless innocent Iraqis lives lost (I had to fight myself to say that one: no one in Iraq is innocent) and Americans are detested, now more than ever, in the global community.
Sadly, all we can do now is pick up the pieces and try to rebuild our lives.

IT WAS DISRESPECTFUL YES, BUT IT DEFINITELY HAD A REASONING BEHIND IT.

Lol, that man Bush has reflexes like Muhammad Ali used to have. I like the fact that he bobbed the shoe and then popped back up smiling. I gained some respect for him off that but it’s consistent with his mentality that he absolutely does not give a damn how he is perceived by the masses, nor should he because the masses are idiots. The masses are “mobilized” by the depiction and propangandization of a candidate in the mass media, not based off their own merits. Bush winning the (s)election in 2004 had nothing to do with black people not mobilizing, lol. It had to do with the fact that he followed his orders properly and he was allowed to retain his position. That is all the presidency is and all it is about, following your orders and playing your position. Bush has done it better than most and he’s done it with a smile because he has no conscience. When you get rebellious to the Federal Reserve and the international bankers, you get your head blown off like Lincoln and Kennedy because the presidency is nothing but a glorifed administrative assistant to the bankers and the state of Israel. The systematic demise of the American, and world, economy is exposing and will continue to expose how powerless the presidents are.

Yes that includes your beloved Obama who did nothing for that cause and few others in which he promised.

Lol, are you serious? Thanks to Bush, that man can “throw two shoes”? What does that mean? Do you really think that Afghanistan or Iraq at it’s worst under their worst dictators was anywhere near a fraction as violent as it’s been since the Europeans, and the sellouts of the other races that follow them, invaded those territories? Everyday I read about suicide bombers and roadside bombs that claim anywhere from 20-200 lives. Everyday. Then you have the nerve to be indignant at this Arab man, lol? This is why I laugh at you so-called “war veterans”, and it is also why I asked that question about no Iraqi being innocent to Dukesman because I know how you demons think. Everyone of you people that went over there to the Middle East in order to destroy their culture and way of life are guilty and you dumbass black people that signed up to fight in the white man’s army try to use the excuse that you did it for educational purposes. Those people need to kill every last one one you black devils and send every last one of you back to America maimed or in a damn bodybag for being nothing more than modern day Nazis.

Hahaha…I know you would catch on to that one. Forget rules of engagement and the Geneva Convention, or if the war is just or unjust, I am just saying that every Iraqi would love to kill someone wearing a US uniform. When I was there in the beginning of the war, it was that mind set that allowed me to make it back home in one piece. I made up my mind to be court martialed even, because they cannot hold court martials on foreign soil. So either way, I was coming home. Sad to say, but that is the reality of that war. US soldiers are fighting with their hands tied behind their backs.

In regards to who I would be going against on this site if you were dead, that’s a sacrifice that I’m willing to make, how about you? I wonder why every Iraqi would love to kill someone in a U.S. uniform? Just the fact that you made that statement shows how mentally incompetent you so-called U.S. “soldiers” are. If someone were to invade your house, kill and rape your family menbers, and tell you how you are to dwell and live in your own house, would you want to kill them or would you want to “work with them”? F*ckin idiot, lol. You may get another chance to rape women, kill people indiscriminately, and run for your life through the desert as Arab men try to bust a cap in ya ass after your man, Obama, OFFICIALLY invades Pakistan. You should sign up again for your christ and request service on the front line. Amerikkka been bombing Pakistan for the last six months but the so-called white man’s media is not convering it. This was long overdue. I applaud the journalist for having the cajones to do it, but I can’t help but wonder if he’ll face charges. Here in the USofA, threatening the life of the president is a felony; just a mere VERBAL threat on the life of the POTUS is enough to land your behind in jail. This guy actually took action - he attempted to PHYSICALLY harm the POTUS. I realize that the incident didn’t happen on American soil and that most of the world has been sitting on the edge of their seats just waiting for this moment, and that laws in the Middle East are different. Still, I feel it’s unlikely that this journalist is going to get off with a just verbal warning or a slap on the wrists. America’s too arrogant to just let this slide, knowing that Dubya had it coming, and, love him or hate him, George W. Bush is still POTUS and still currently the most powerful man in the world.

So true at Dani #161….Your response was short and to the point! People will sit here and make mockery of things that aren’t even humorous, and then turn around in the same breath to scream aloud, “CHANGE and PEACE for all”, everytime Obama makes a ” rehearsed speech” lol. I’m wondering if President-Elect Obama thinks this is amusing? I would justifiably say no, since he’s such a strong advocate for peace and prosperity for all….Right?
@ Judah….Respectfully so, you are one of the few bloggers who speak intelligently, and I actually enjoy reading your comments on political issues (you’re spiffy when it comes to politics; so attractive lol). However, I disagree with your analysis of men and women of the Armed Forces. Stating that ALL African-American men and women of our Armed Forces are, “house negroes”, is just asinine to me! People join the armed forces in their own right (for whatever reason they choose to do so), and furthermore, I don’t think it’s right to group them ALL in one big category. Are their some soldiers commiting these heinous acts of which you speak?…Yes! Is it going on as we speak?..Yes! You and I both are aware of this! But the operative word is “some” babe. And yes, I agree that those who are guilty, should be punished! Just my small synopsis…..

I am glad that the owners of this site at least put the information down in a factual impartial way. I am never going back on the YBF website because I was completely disgusted at how the owner of that site presented it. Im Canadian and a flight attendant and I have travelled to many countries. I often meet people who hate Americans. When I saw this video I was upset but when I saw the reactions of Americans I was shocked. So many Americans think it is funny, I have to wonder if these people have any idea what their country is facing. When someone tries to injure the leader of your country, they want to harm you. The biggest American symbol for freedom, justice, democracy etc is the president, not the twin towers, the statue of liberty or any monument. These people want to harm him, your soldiers, your family, your friends and you. They hate you. Its really not funny. After this happened people were in the street burning American flags. The brother of the journalist was making comments that Americans have killed and insulted Iraqis and they deserve this. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that the world only hates your president. After Obama comes to office much of American foreign policy which protects Americans, Canadians and many other democracies will still be the same. Those people who hate America still will. Whenever I go through the American security screenings, I see the signs that say that they are your country’s first line of defence. There are a lot of things that Bush put in place since 9/11 and partially because of these rules I feel safe going to work everyday.

@140 CLEAR
Who the hell said anything about the majority of anything? What are you talking about? I think that you’re one of those negroes that just has an issue with my commentary and is just looking for a reason to argue. Keep it moving please. There should not be ONE black, hispanic, or native american in the white man’s armed forces or police force. Not ONE. There is no excuse, and the vast majority of the ones that are in those institutions are bugged out of their minds. I have articles that detail how destitute the black soldiers that have come back from Iraq and Afghanistan are. Then the ones that go abroad and fight with an for this devil stand idle as these white boys with swastikas tattoed on them rape, kill, and pillage all these people. When the Nazi soldiers said that they were just following orders, no one felt remorse for them when they were hung by the so-called Jews and the American soldiers should be held to the same standard.
@Jayla
I understand where you are coming from sis, but there is such a thing as “guilt by association”. I didn’t say that all the black soldiers are bad people, but if you are a part of an entity that intends to do evil, that makes you evil by association because as a member of that body, you must fulfill the wishes of that body in order for the goal to be achieved. If a “good” black soldier is given the order to shoot children, he must shoot those children or he will be brought up on charges of insubordination, at best, or caught up in “friendly fire” at worst. That is what war is about. This is why Dukesman was running through the deserts of the Middle East in a zig-zag trying to avoid that hot lead from those Arabs, lol. He committed heinous acts. Mind you, war entails the death and killing of anyone that impedes the goal. I understand that, and moreover it is necessary. My issue is not the killing, it is the alignment with the oppressor and the enemy. The white man does not fight for freedom, he fights for power and to force his ways on others. There is not one war that he has waged where he fought for freedom. The Civil War wasn’t fought to free the slaves, so I don’t want to hear that one. It was fought because the government could not economically afford to lose the cash crops created by the plantations in the South, so they had to stop them from seceding. Lincoln regularly called black people ni*gers on the Senate floor.

@140 CLEAR
@Jayla
Lincoln regularly called black people ni**ers on the Senate floor.

Please don’t even get me started on corrupt politicians. Who is more corrupt than Bush and Cheney? I guarantee you if you were to come up with a list of known corrupt democrats the list would not even come close to a list of corrupt republicans. Examples are below:
Mark Foley
Bob Barr
Parker J. Bena
Ted Kulongoski
John Bolton
Oh even your beloved President Bush (was accused in a criminal complaint and lawsuit of raping Margie Schoedinger, who later died in a questionable case of suicide. Bush was also accused by Tammy Phillips, a former stripper, who was quoted in the National Enquirer in 2000 saying she had an affair with Bush that had ended in 1999. Another serious question involves statements from the wife of Red Blount, whom Bush campaigned for, while possibly A.W.O.L from the Air National Guard at age 26. She stated that he was “all over their 14 year old daughter.”
Neil Bush (G. Bush’s brother - great family, huh?)
Matthew Glavin
Neal Horsley - he had sex with mules
Lewis “Scooter” Libby
Bob Packwood
Strom Thurmond
and many more….
Hey if you live in a glass house, please, do not throw stones.

lET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION…HOW MANY AMERICANS SAID THEY HATED IRAQIS? I HAVEN’T REALLY HEARD ANY AMERICANS SAY THEY SPECIFICALLY HATE AL QUEDA. IN FACT AMERICANS BECAME SO PREJUDICE WHERE IF YOU WERE MUSLIM YOU WERE ULTIMATELY CONSIDERED A TERRORIST. IF YOU DRESSED LIKE A MUSLIM AMERICAN AND WAS GETTING ON A PLANE YOU WERE TAKEN THROUGH EXTRA PRECAUTIONS OF SECURITY, LOOKED AS FUNNY, AND EVEN HAD PEOPLE REQUEST A SEAT CHANGE OR REQUEST THAT YOU’D ME REMOVED FROM THE PLANE BECAUSE THEY FELT UNCOMFORTABLE. YES THAT’S WHAT AMERICANS DID AND STILL DO THIS DAY. I’M NOT MUSLIM, BUT IT WAS EASY TO SEE WHAT IDIOTIC PEOPLE WERE DOING.
IF IRAQI MILITARY WERE TO COME OVER HERE CALLING THEMSELVES “STRAIGHTENING” OUT THINGS HOW WOULD YOU HONESTLY FEEL? THERE’S PLENTY OF COUNTRIES THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THEIR LEADERS EVEN THE US. SO EVERY TIME A BLACK MAN IS WRONFULLY KILLED BY SOME OFFICERS, SHOULD OTHER MILITARY COME BARGING OVER HERE BLOCKING OUR STREETS, RAPING OUR WOMEN, KILLING CHILDREN, WHILE THEY KILL OFF EVERY DIRTY OFFICER THEY CAN FIND? THERE’S A REASON WHY COUNTRIES ARE SEPERATED, HAVE DIFFERENT BELIEFS, AND LAWS. TRUTH IS I’M SURE THE US CAN CARE LESS ABOUT “IRAQI FREEDOM” WE ARE OVER THERE FOR OIL PROTECTION AND TO STEAL. REMEMBER WE WERE IN DARFUR TO STOP “GENOCIDE” BUT THE NEWS REPORTER WAS SO QUICK TO CUT OFF THEIR PRESIDENT AS HE WENT ON LIVE TV COMPLAINING ABOUT THE AMERICAN TROOPS STEALING NATURAL RESOURCES WHICH THEY USE FOR TRADING?

@Judah,
you know based on your comments I can tell you’re an intelligent brother. However, when you start speaking about a lifestyle that you know nothing about I have to correct you. It’s people like you that make others call my husband a murderer. My hubby just finished a 15 month tour in Iraq, so does this make him a house negro, or a slave” or a murderer”. As Jayla so eloquently put it, not everyone who wears the uniform is any of those above things. Sometimes people sign up for the military as a way of paying for school, or to help their families financially. So are they wrong for wanting that? I mean in this current economy, having a job where you can’t get laid off, the healthcare is free and your rent is paid for, sure sounds good to me! So, look here’s my point: you spit out all of this rhetoric on the history of america/military/and black men/ Sorry to say Boo, but that argument is stale. I’ve heard it a million times before. It just sounds like you’re spitting out old gibberish and you present your argument like its religion. What you don’t take into account is this, the military, like anything else is a job. When soldiers get sent to Iraq it’s not as simple as saying ” I don’t want to go” or “No sir, I’m not going to invade that Iraqi’s house.” They take orders. Just like your boss at your job tells you what to do, their bosses do the same. It always irritates me how people love to talk shit about the military but they have no idea about the day to day ish that we go through, or just the intimate details about our lives. Look, I’m not an electrical engineeer, but I can read all kinds of articles detailing what they do, and the history of their chosen profession, but does that make me an expert in their field? Does my liberal arts educated opinion matter…ummm no. So all I’m saying is, you’re very adept at looking up articles to back up your own point of view, but to be a true intellectual you must see things from all different sides. So next time you want to argue against the military do you research, talk to someone who lives that lifestyle and maybe your opinions would change. Though I doubt you’ll do it, you can hit me up,anytime at m.nic.stephens@gmail.com.

No disrespect to you sis, but not only did you not correct me, you agreed with me. Furthermore you don’t have a leg to stand on in regards to this issue because your entire stance is based on your personal relationship with your husband. The issue is the war, not your husband. This is why I referred to the American troops as modern day Nazis, and I stand by that premise because they follow orders based on a belief in their leadership. This is why people have the nerve to call these men “heroes”. A “hero” is a man who leads, not follows. When the Nazi soldiers told the Jewish tribunals that they were “just following orders”, they were still found guilty by association and hung or gassed. The whole premise of “I support the troops but not the war” is retarded. That’s like supporting the bullet but not the gun.
If you, as a man or woman, do not understand or cannot justify why you are sent on a mission to kill, and you still do so, you are more culpable than the man who gave the order. The U.S. military is voluntary, for now, so you blacks that choose to be the white man’s sword are just as much to blame as him. If I’m given an order, it is up to me as a man to follow through on that order assuming that it doesn’t go against what I know to be wrong. In addition to that, I shouldn’t even be a member of an organization or body that I know has never been anything other than evil. If that line of thinking doesn’t strike a cord with you, you must be 1) a sellout 2) amoral 3) In agreement with a wicked order, which makes you wicked. America is an amoral society, so the real issue is, do these soldiers even know right from wrong? That is the question. I mean please, even Dukesman, as obtuse an ass as he is, was forced to stand down on this issue once he realized that he exposed himself as a mass murderer who killed indiscrminately out of fear. Now, if a black man signs up for the armed forces and says that he felt like he had no other option and just killed to survive, and he realizes that this society is off kilter, then it just is what it is. He has to take it up with the Most High. I can’t judge him on that. Just don’t come at me with this, “He’s a hero in a uniform” bullsh*t. Again, the fact that you justify the mass anarchy that has been spread by U.S. (Roman) forces because the “rent is free” shows the mentality that you’re dealing with, and why I made the comment I made earlier about MOST black women being good house negroes. Whoever supplies your bread is who you will serve because many of you will follow whoever is in power. I’m not mad at that because that is the essential nature of the woman, to follow the provider. The real issue is, unfortunately, that the black man has taken on the nature of the woman here in America because he has been mentally destroyed. That is another topic.
As far as black history being “stale”, lol, history is only stale to one who enjoys being ignorant and finds it too laborious to examine the past to understand why we’re in the situation that we’re in now. Again, that’s more for the brothers to stand up, examine, and do, so I expect a comment like that from most sisters. Sis, I’m not interested in knowing the “in’s and out’s” of army life. I know who and what the armed forces are about based on what they’ve always been about and what the scriptures tell me they are about. It’s 2008, and even the white man cannot quantify nor qualify why he is in those lands, so I know that no negro can. You all take your cue from him and regurgitate the nonsense that he feeds you. Nations have standing armies and spend billions of dollars per year on weapons to START wars, not bring peace.

JUDAH

@Daisy
Lol, most of the Nazis were so-called Jews, but that is another topic above your “pay grade”. The Nazis were always bad, as are the U.S. forces, and particularly zombied out ni**ers like yourself that blasted children based on the orders of that “good white commanding officer”. Now, as I’ve said, I have no problem with the killing. War is about killing to achieve your goals, and I don’t have a problem with war either. Thirdly, I also don’t have a problem with the white man waging war. This is what he was put on the earth to do. Wage war and cause confusion. My issue is with negroes that 1) fight for him 2) try to justify it 3) actually try to paint themselves as “heroes” when they have no idea why they are there when even the white man doesn’t have his story stright. He’s not as slick a devil as he used to be.
Joshua’s prowess as a warrior, as well as David, Samson, etc. is predicated on why they killed, which is the issue. You have no idea why you killed; and you were, and still are, brainwashed into thinking that the Iraqis are “your enemy”, lol. They are the white man’s enemy because everyone is the white man’s enemy unless he can rule them. It has nothing to do with “religion” because “religion” is philosophy and has no historical relevance or base. The word religion comes from a Greek word which means to “hold back or restrain”. Now if you had any knowledge and stopped selling wolf tickets, you’d see that the people in the church system (as well as you) practice “religion”, because the entity that they worship has no historical relevance as a deity. That’s another topic. The Bible on the other hand, which is not a religious book, is the most accurate historical treatise in the history of mankind and is used as a primary resource in all archaeological digs. The same reason why the Lord ordered his soldiers to kill the Canaanites is the same reason that America will be destroyed and the people who have that mark of the Beast on them. America approves of all the same things as the Canaanites and the ancient Egyptians because those kingdoms are America’s spiritual forefathers (Rev 11:8). Sodom was a Canaanite (African) city. This is why you front like Malcolm X on one post and then you want Obama to bring everyone together and your god is a god of “all love” on another post. Then on the next one, Obama is going to send whites to the cotton field, lol.

Do I really need to explain to you, again why I and every black person, who did, voted for Obama. I have explained it to you more than 3 times already, but you still haven’t grasped the significance. Every time I try to raise the level of discourse, you resort to your cesspool tactics of ignoring the facts, so you can lean on your own misunderstanding and make yourself think you are espousing something insightful or Zen-like. You never heard me praise myself as a hero on this or any post. I do not front like I am Malcolm X but yes I am not afraid or ashamed to let it be known that I am student of The Right Honorable Minister Malcolm X’s teachings. Maybe you should leave your cult of “butt pirates” and do some research on Malcolm X’s work. I am more than happy to loan you some of my books and research material, because it seems like the only book you read is the Bible. However, man shall not live by bread alone; you have to broaden your horizon. It is then and only then you will be transformed from the ideologue that you are into a pragmatist.

@ Everyone.. but mainly Judah and Dukes.
Ok seriously, all of you are bugging the F*CK outta me. Mainly Judah and Dukesman. The both of you are arguing in circles. Dukesman, clearly you can not argue with judah, your losing the battle and you keep hopping from one subject to another so much that your not even arguing. Your trying to appear intelligent and its not working. Im sure your not a stupid dude, but intellectually your no competition.
Now for you Judah, for one you are saying the military is an evil entity and any black person that works for it is a sellout. Why is that so? You hinge so much of your argument on history so what about this tidbit. Why did newly freed slaves work in the military? They fought to free themselves. Were they sellouts? Were they evil by association? they worked for the white mans benefit as you say since the civil war was a political move they had to stop the south from ceding the union because they couldnt lose the cash crops. That actually makes a lot of sense and i cant fault that logic, however does that make the blacks that fought in that war evil? they fought a two front war. (liberty and the white mans profit) They followed orders, and did what they had to do. That makes them evil by default even though they fought for reasons that had nothing to do with the white man, with your logic they are evil period because they fought in the white mans army. Now moving on to draw analogies with now.
The “War on terrorism” I fully believe is front for lil bush to fulfill daddies legacy (the whole goal in my opinion was to get saddam, as big bush tried to do when he was in office) but anyway the correlation is that the black people over there fighting now, are there because of orders. They are not fighting for the white man, but rather the ideals. The idea that terrorism should not be allowed to pervade and that justice and peace should be spread by any means neccesary. Yes there are ulterior motives, name one war were there werent ulterior motives. The main idea of this war though, is that terrorist in the middle east attacked the U.S. and they need to pay (not the iraqi people and its wrong that so many innocent are dying but that is war and terrorist are located there) I like to believe that soldiers fight for a symbol that is freedom and justice, yes the people in power skew that for their own personal gain(oil in this case and my personal belief for saddam as well), but that is not what soldiers become soldiers for. They became soldeirs to uphold and defend a symbol, not to fight for the white man and his desires. Even though that is what they are used for at times. Fighting for a symbol of peace and justice cannot be evil. No matter the soldiers skin color.
But to agree with a part of what you said, name one military action that wasn’t for wealth or power or dominance? I dont think anyone can. The main thing i disagree with that you brought up is this: “I understand where you are coming from sis, but there is such a thing as “guilt by association”. I didn’t say that all the black soldiers are bad people, but if you are a part of an entity that intends to do evil, that makes you evil by association” That statement contradicts itself, you say you dont think every black person in the military is evil, but go on to say that they are all evil by association. They are not, as I pointed out before they are not fighting for the white man and his evil ways, but the ideals that the U.S. stands for, justice and liberty.
P.S. THIS IS FOR EVERYONE THAT LAUGHED.
The reporter throwing the shoe at bush was disrespectful. The reporter was not throwing the shoe at bush as a person, but the office he represents. Bush is the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. That office holds power and throwing a shoe at that office is disrespect. Not just to him but to every american. Bush was a bad president by most peoples standards, but that does not negate the fact that he is a political figure that deserves respect if for no reason other than that. If they could disrespect his position like that, then they can easily do the same to Obama. Yall would not have found this funny if he did that to Obama.

Young college student,
I read through your post and I really don’t feel like typing what I did earlier, but I’m guessing you may have read it. If not you should check it out. Just a few points….
-Are U.S. troops now considered terrorists? We are doing the same amount of killings if not more than what Al Queda did. Check out pics of the pits of women and children’s bodies.
-Why are the U.S. troops in Iraq when Al Queda is not even there? Who are the U.S. troops shooting at? Perhaps that’s why there’s so much “friendly” fire claiming lives.
-Can you blame Iraqi citizens for suicide car bombs when they have lost their innocent families? They have nothing else to lose.
-Ever stop to think why Al Queda chose the U.S. and not any other nation? Why our allies felt no need to go into war with us?
Just a few questions I had. Before you assume that he cursed America as a whole, look for the translations of what was actually said and why American media was so quick to cut that part of the video out. Also check out what they had to say about our U.S. troops in Darfur. There’s no terrorists there.

Lol, I don’t need you to explain anything because you don’t understand what you think you believe, so what can you possibly teach? Obama is a hackneyed topic and it’s beyond redundant. I brought him up in regards to what you said concerning caucasians, to highlight your duplicity and simplicity. The “significance” of his (s)election has nothing to do with the topic. You’d like to make it one because that is the only subject that you think you can draw out into a retort. What makes you think that I haven’t researched Malcolm X, lol? What he is taught to have represented is not complex at all and it certainly wasn’t fulfilling, because if it was, he wouldn’t have waffled back and forth between doctrines at the end of his life. He realized that he did the same thing with Elijah Muhammad that you do with him, that being worship a man. If Malcolm X was so “right and honorable”, lol, why did he recant his stance on whites? Either they are the devil or they are not. It’s not “American whites” or some whites that are bad, as he claimed at the end. He said he “went to Mecca” and saw caucasian muslims in fellowship and brotherhood with black muslims, which is a damn lie because muslim arabs are amongst the most racist people in the damn world, particularly in that region. What happened was that he no longer had the backing of an organization like the NOI and he tried to endear himself to a certain, erudite segment of caucasians that he thought he could subvert with his rhetoric and it didn’t work because white people, unlike blacks, don’t forget or forgive perceived injustices or insults. At the end of the day, he was a wildcard that could no longer be controlled and monitored by that agent, Elijah Muhammad, and he had to go.
No disrespect to you; but like I’ve stated before, you couldn’t debate me on one topic, certainly not black history. You’re better off staying in your place and staying simple. You should pray to you “love god” that he forgive you for all the children you raped and men you shot for no reason. Damn hypocrite. “Pragmatism” is based on your perceived reality, so that has no relevance to me because we’re not thinking on the same plane. You are a two-dimensional thinker with a yearning to be deep; as “young college student” touched on, but it’s not happening, lol. Honestly all your pragmatism jargon is a cover for the fact that your driven by your lusts and you do not want to be bound by any laws other than the white man’s Constitution. This is why you fabricate the “love god”, lol. One of the tests of an intelligent man is when he’s smart enough to know when he’s not smart enough. I don’t care how many times you claim you’ve read the Bible. When you understand one verse, we can converse.

@ dukes, ahaha see my point? You can’t keep up intellectually. I have no doubt that you are intelligent, but your intellectual and argumentative skills are not up par.
@ judah, I did not see you refute any of what i said.
@ Honest critic…
“-Are U.S. troops now considered terrorists? We are doing the same amount of killings if not more than what Al Queda did. Check out pics of the pits of women and children’s bodies. ”
I understand that we are doing worse to iraq than what terrorist do everyday. I said i personally believe that this war is bush’s personal war. My argument is for the soldiers though they are following orders. This is not what the people want but rather one mans wishes.
“-Why are the U.S. troops in Iraq when Al Queda is not even there? Who are the U.S. troops shooting at? Perhaps that’s why there’s so much “friendly” fire claiming lives.”
Again thats a result of the corruption from bush, this isnt just a war or terrorism in my opinion but bushes personal vendetta.
“-Can you blame Iraqi citizens for suicide car bombs when they have lost their innocent families? They have nothing else to lose.”
I do not blame the people. I said that its not fair that they are paying with blood for things they arent guilty of.
“-Ever stop to think why Al Queda chose the U.S. and not any other nation? Why our allies felt no need to go into war with us? ”
Al Queda chose us because we are the most wealthy nation in the world (or used to be) and we were poking our noses in affairs we had nothing to do with. I understand their reason for attacking us but that does not justify it.
My arguments were not to justify the war, but to address the fact that our soldiers are not in the army just to kill and hurt. They are in the army to defend a symbol.
“Just a few questions I had. Before you assume that he cursed America as a whole, look for the translations of what was actually said and why American media was so quick to cut that part of the video out. Also check out what they had to say about our U.S. troops in Darfur. There’s no terrorists there.”
Ok so maybe the reporter did not curse america as a whole. He did however disrespect OUR president. Ignoring all other aspects of the situation, he threw at shoe at the president of the united states of america. That is an insult to all americans. Im sorry but I do not see any way out of that.
As for there being no terrorist there, I am repeating what i said previously. Bush has his own personal vendetta, and this administration is corrupt. I have no doubt about that, and I do believe this war is going no where. There very well may be no terrorist there and the people are suffering for no reason. My ONLY point is that our soldiers are not there to defend bush and his ignorant war. Despite it being wrong, our soldiers are there under orders and must defend the U.S. and respect the presidency. This is not to ignore the fact that there is injustice in doing so. Our soldiers are in the army defending a symbol and ideal.

The slaves that fought for the armies, both North and South, in the civil war were not “evil”, per se, but they were dupes. That situation has nothing to do with the Iraq war because the slaves were fighting for themselves, allegedly. Blacks in Iraq do not know why they are fighting, and no black soldier can tell me that they know because, as I’ve stated, the good master of the house doesn’t even know. Nice try though. I don’t think that what I said concerning the U.S. troops is that deep an issue. There are “good” people in every entity, but that entity is what determines what your actions are, and your actions determine who you are. A better analogy would be to compare the slaves to the Iraqis who are fighting back to retain some form of freedom, not to the modern day blacks that are part and parcel of the oppressor.
Now sis, no disrespect but your second paragraph and attempt at a point was kind of scatter-brained. Is terrorism real or is it fabricated? That seems to be something that you need to decide before you claim a side. Saddam Hussein has been on the U.S. payroll since 1959 believe it or not. The intent of this war is to 1) accrue the oil 2) conquer the Muslim countries, break down their culture, and destroy the family structure 3) Install “democracy” and puppet leaders that will make sure the people remain subdued 4) use those countries as markets for trade and as outlets for the American economy. It has nothing to do with Saddam or Osama Bin Laden. Those men are James Bond villains. The white man needs villains to put on TV for the simple-minded so that he has a pretext to invade, and alleged “justification” for the violence and death that will ensue. Forty years ago when he invaded Southeast Asia, he used the excuse of the “Domino Effect” and the spread of communism, when in actuality the point of the Vietnam War was to bring the heroin out (which was brought out in movies like “Lethal Weapon”, “American Gangster”, etc.). Do you really think that they cannot find Osama Bin Laden, lol? It’s been 7 years. There’s no cave that damn deep. Now, look at what you just said, lol. You said, “I LIKE TO BELIEVE that soldiers fight for freedom and justice.”. Lmao, are you for real? I can tell that you’re a black woman with that B.S. you just tried to shovel. So, hypothetically speaking, I can put a gun in your hand and tell you to bring something back for me and use whatever means to get it, as long as I tell you that the intent is to “bring peace”? Unfortunately, 90% of Americans think just like you, which is why Americans are the most hated people on planet Earth.
You said that the black soldiers are not evil because they are fighting for what the U.S. stands for. What does the U.S. stand for because it certainly does not stand for freedom or justice. Do you know what justice is? I already know that you don’t know what freedom is. You’re predicating your entire attempt at an argument off of what believe the U.S. stands for, which has nothing to do with what it actually stands for. When has America ever been just to the people who built this country? You think probably you’re free because you can wear tight pants, get tattoes, and tell a black man off, lol. This is why those Iraqi and Afghani men are fighting so hard. They haven’t been bitched out like the black man and they understand that freedom and justice starts with order and the family structure. This is why I mentioned earlier how I cannot see how these American soldiers can be trusted to enforce right or wrong when they don’t even know what right and wrong is, nor do most Americans. For example, look at you. They’re not fighting for the white man and his evil ways but they’re fighting for ideals he fabricated in a country built on the blood, rape, and death of our people. You sound ridiculous.
Bush deserves respect as a “political figure”? How about Hitler? Would you say that he deserved respect as a “political figure”? Saddam was a “political figure”. Did he deserve respect or did he deserve what his fate is alleged to have been, which is death? You’re beating around the Bush, lol. You’re just another patriotic negro that is trying to front like you’re for your own. Stop the madness because you don’t have a leg to stand on with me.

@ Judah…..I’m not fortunate enough to be blessed with a lot of time to actually respond to blogs in a timely manner (My life revolves around my Spelman College students), so please excuse my tardiness……Oh the agony of grading and revising papers is killing me sir
What i want to add is this……You state that “guilt by association” is the plague of the “good” African-American soldiers, correct? I don’t quite grasp the fact of what you’re stating here…..You’re right, I agree that the majority of soldiers, if not all, who are fighting over in Iraq have no earthly idea of why they’re even ther. What you must take in consideration, is the fact that society plays a major role in brainwashing our youth also (such as coercing students to join the military after they blatantly state they have no interest, feeding them stories of how they can’t get accepted into college because of low test scores which is all a bunch of balogne… the military should never be an “only way out” option). Are these soliders to be blamed? No, because they have no choice once they’re in to follow orders. We hear of plenty of soldiers who disagree with this “poor excuse” for war, but they simply have no choice….It’s either fight or be court-martialled for going AWOL. It’s a sad situation, but those “good soldiers” of which you speak, have no choice but to fight. Does this make it right….No, but what are you and I to do?
WOW! (Judah) comment #209, this is why i enjoy reading your posts….With that statement and history lesson, their is nothing more needed to say on this thread….Despite some of your “black female views” lol….Can we intelligent black women get some love from you lol?…..We are not all against the black man! I digress.

@181 and 217 AGREE!! Some idiots are thinking it is fun and games, but worse would happen to them if they were in Iraq. Did we forget the hostages and that Berg guy that was decapitated w/a small knife? These people are sadistic and they have killed their own people and raped their women and many other atrocities under Sadaam’s reign and not to mention Bin Laden. We think its funny now but Muslim cells are here in the US, look around you and open your eyes, been to the doctor lately? Have you ever been told about the end times in the Bible? What nationality are you seeing around you and in healthcare, many americans? You need to laugh at yourself for thinking it is funny. These are the same people that went ballistic over a cartoon they felt was disrespectful, but this is okay? You are not dealing w/people w/integrity here. Now what would have been funny, if Bush would have thrown the shoes back or came over that podium at the guy. But we all know the fallout from that would have been protest and suicide bombs and mayhem when they are disrespected. Its all about fear/terror w/these guys. Not funny when you see the whole picture.

Alright sis, lol, you got to drop your line about how you’re a teacher at Spellman. You happy now? I have no idea how that is relevant or pertinent to the conversation other than you feel it may validate your intelligence, which it doesn’t. The ability to perceive and relate your perceptions validates intelligence. “Education” is just indoctrination and the ability to regurgitate what you’ve been programmed to think. There’s nothing wrong with conventional education, but lets’ not confuse it with intelligence. Enough of my spiel on that, lol.
Sis, I’m not going to continue much longer with this issue concerning the black soldiers. It’s obvious that some of you are taking this personal, which means that you cannot execute a constructive argument. A person always has a choice, so that is a cop out. As you’ve said, this society deals with brain-washing from the youth upward, but that is why it is so integral to know and understand history to combat that. If you are a black or hispanic man and have even a mild familiarity with U.S. history, you should never have joined any branch of the armed forces and once you do, you have put yourself in the position to have to carry out the orders of a regime that has always been evil. There are no excuses. When we put on the television, we are bombarded with violent shows, movies, and music videos. Does that mean that I can rob a store, shoot the owner, and blame Snoop Dogg in a court of law? No. We know for a fact that the black man cannot do that and the majority of us are raised in environments that foster violence.
As far as the intelligent sisters and me giving them “credit”, my credit has nothing to do with anything. I qualify my statements by saying “most”. If you’re not one of the “most”, then you have nothing to get offended about. There’s an old saying that when you throw a rock into a pack of dogs, the only dogs that bark are the ones that got hit.

IT’S OBVIOUS HE WAS ON OUR PAYROLE.

fififj123,
CHECK OUT THIS MOVIE CALLED “THE RENDITION” CAME OUT IN 07 I BELIEVE. IT WAS ABOUT HOW THE US HIRED ARABS TO TORTURE AN AMERICAN WHO WENT ON A MISSION THERE TO FIND OUT SOME THINGS. THEY DID THIS SO THAT OUR POLITICIANS WOULDN’T LOOK BAD. IT WAS BASED ON A TRUE STORY.
SOMEONE SAID EARLIER ABOUT HOW THEY RAPE THEIR WOMEN AND KILL INNOCENT PEOPLE ALL UNDER SADDAM’S REGIME? THAT’S SAD TO KNOW, BUT I LIVE IN THE U.S. AND IT SEEMS LIKE WE HAVE A BUNCH OF RAPISTS HERE, COPS KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE, RACISM STILL, SCHOOL SHOOTINGS, AND NOW IN AN ECONOMIC “CRISIS” ALL UNDER BUSH. SO SHOULD WE SAY IT’S OKAY FOR TROOPS FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY COME OVER AND REGULATE OUR COUNTRY FOR THE BAD THINGS THAT’S BEEN HAPPENING OVER HERE?

@ 233, WE KNOW ALL THAT ABOUT RAPE,ETC IN THE USA BY INDIVIDUALS IN THE COMMUNITIES, BUT ITS A DIFFERENT ANIMAL WHEN ITS THE GOVERNMENT DOING IT. GO OVER THERE AND LIVE. WHAT ABOUT IRAQ’S THREAT TO DESTROY ISRAEL AND THE WHOLE REASON FOR THE PERSIAN GULF WAR IN THE 90′S. WHERE THE US, WHICH INCLUDED MY BROTHER IN OPERATION DESERT STORM, WERE STATIONED IN SAUDI ARABIA TO DEFEND IT AGAINST POSSIBLE INVASION AFTER THE IRAQIS INVADED KUWAIT, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE THERE THAT THE IRAQIS KILLED? YEAH, POOR IRAQ. THE WHOLE REASON FOR THE IRAQ WAR IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS TO PREVENT IRAQ FROM ACQUIRING WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION! NO ONE WANTS TO BELIEVE IRAQ IS TRYING TO GET ITS HANDS ON NUCLEAR POWER, BUT THEY ARE. HOW CAN ANYONE SAY THAT THEY ARE NOT AND HAVE NOT GOTTEN THEIR HANDS ON NUCLEAR WEAPONTRY AS IF THEY ARE HONEST PEOPLE AND WILL JUST FESS UP. WHEN THESE TERRORIST GET THAT POWER, THERE WILL BE A NUCLEAR WAR AND WE WILL SEE WHAT WE THINK ABOUT BUSH THEN. AND AS FAR AS OTHER COUNTRIES COMING OVER TO THE USA B/C OF THE BAD THINGS IN OUR HISTORY, WHICH AGAIN WAS NOT THE REASON FOR THE IRAQ WAR, I’M PRETTY SURE THAT SLAVES WOULD NOT HAVE MINDED IT, BUT THE US EVENTUALLY TOOK CARE OF THAT OURSELVES.
