Every generation has doors opened by previous artists and every generation is inspired by artists who have come before them. I think that it is a mistake to lump Beyonce in the same crowd as Rihanna when Bee has been in and on top of the game for so, so long. If anything, Beyonce (and also Alicia) is an early 00’s artist who has paved the way for all the younger R&Pop tarts that are doing their thing today.
