1) Michael Ealy is just DAMN FINE!

My favorite is still Single Ladies. I like that Beyonce takes creative risks because she has built herself up enough to be able to deviate from the norm. I don’t think this track does her voice justice. The key is too low for her in some areas and her voice is struggling to reach those lower tone notes. The Halo video I love it. IT’s so simple where you can focus more on her vocals rather than how she looks or dances. Michael Ealy is a gorgeous man. It would be hard to keep my composure staring at him face to face. Love the Halo song. IT’s the only song from that album that I liked and downloaded.

Diva is horrible. Not my taste, it can stay with the hood girls and gay men just like single ladies did. “Halo” is a beautiful song, but that video is dry as toast. Beyonce has somehow lost alot of her shine. People are still obviously interested in her, but Rihanna has upstaged her swag.

I love Halo (the song) and thought the video was pretty lame. Diva had the potential to be a great video, but I wasn’t feeling that one too much either, although if I were forced to choose which video is better I would have to go with Diva.

Hmmm, I’m an avid supporter of the I Am…Sasha Fierce discs, and I have to say I sort of like both videos. I wasn’t expecting much for Halo, but I think it’s really cute, haha. The Diva vid left a little to be desired, a dance break or something, but it’s ok.

Every generation has doors opened by previous artists and every generation is inspired by artists who have come before them. I think that it is a mistake to lump Beyonce in the same crowd as Rihanna when Bee has been in and on top of the game for so, so long. If anything, Beyonce (and also Alicia) is an early 00’s artist who has paved the way for all the younger R&Pop tarts that are doing their thing today.

Thanks for the discussion. We’ve both made some valid points amongst all the crap that has been posted. All I can say is that Beyonce must be doing something right to have 500 posts about her videos the day of their release. Videos are designed to increase popularity and awareness of singles and to me, she is doing that perfectly. I’m not in the mood really for a debate about legends and icons, especially those of the past.
