Please don’t compare Brandy to ANYONE else right now. I don’t remember how old she is (late twenties or something) but clearly her music is about some GROWN woman shit. She’s been through some rough times since her last album dropped and is one of few artist that I feel are sincere when they sing. Look at her face in this video. She didn’t have to go to acting bootcamp for that emotion. Brandy also doesn’t represent the current industry standard of “beautiful” either. Image unfortunately is everything, but when you can do you and be satisfied…THAT is everything!

I’ve already pre-ordered the CD on iTunes. I like the end of the song and video the best. I remember when “Have You Ever” had to grow on me, now it’s one of my top 5 Brandy songs. “Long Distance” is headed there too. Brandy executes beautifully, and she’s grown into a beautiful woman.
I absolutely hated this song when I first heard it, but after hearing over and over again and seeing the video I love it. It almost made me cry on about the twentieth listen because the words began to resonate. This is the single of the year for me now.
