I am so glad that I’m above the age of 21 and can make an unbiased opinion. I am an 80’s child so I know real music when I hear it. I don’t believe that just because you like an artist, you should automatically like ALL their songs. With that being said, I like Ciara’s version better. Beyonce has a country “twang” to her voice and it sounds awkard. Ciara has the personality to match with the song and her “voice” sounds better on the track. This track is not about “singing”. It’s about the beat and the lyrics (like most current songs nowadays….). Beyonce should stick to the pop songs about dancing and looking fly, shaking her behind etc….Ciara is a more dancing hard, hood type. She definetely killed it. Beyonce even messed the video up with all that hair shaking and booty bouncing choreographed nonesence. I could just see Ciara dancing in the warehouse to this song-FREESTYLING with just jeans and a tank top like Janet did in pleasure principal. And for the record, I wouldn’t buy a Ciara or a Beyonce album. I like real singing like Erykah Badu, Anthony Hamilton, Jasmine Sullivan, Jill Scott…..ah, you get the picture! LOL

I don’t think these artist are intentionally trying to walk in Beyonce’s footsteps, I just think they get caught up in the “Beyonce hype” and feel in order for them to shine they have to somehow play catch up to her instead of staying true to themselves. This is why an artist like Alicia Keys will always shine no matter what because she is focused only on Alicia and artist like Kelis will be innovative because she truly is unique but people don’t give her the opportunity because she don’t conform to the norm…some consider Kelis and her type of music to be too weird! Kelis 2009-this chick is gone to rock! Solange’s album was a good album as well but people want to label her only as Beyonce’s lil sister and not recognize her as a good song writer. So what she may not have the voice of Beyonce but Solange’s album definitely proved she is more than the lil sister of Beyonce with this album!!! CIara focus on promoting yourself not Beyonce….and even if the people still try to compare you at least you know that you are secure with being yourself …with that knowledge you will always be a winner and a boss!!!

Let’s say Diva was done by ……Mary J Blige or Jazmin Sullivan…it would be no questions that their version trumped Ciara’s. But because its Beyonce, some of you will not admit Bey’s is better. As someone mentioned , this song is from the Sasha Fierce side. It fits her because when I think of Sasha, I think of a “hood, dancing, talented ” chick. As far as the song appearing on a mixtape, I have no qualms about that. RAPPERS do it all the time, but not so much singers. Still, its not a good look in my opinion…this song only highlights how awful Ciara’s vocals really are! Ciara reminds me of Mya! She’s pretty and she can dance. Mya even had a leg up on her as far as dancing. I see Ciara’s moves at any given strip club. 5 years from now, Ciara will be a distant memory.
