Wyclef is really doing some great things at the sacrifice of his devotion to his music career. I wish his foundation the best and hope it continues to grow in the future.
Thanks for the shout! Been a fan of CL for a long time.

I definitely love Wyclef! I have been a fan from the beginning, and I am so proud of him. My family is from Haiti, and it is some gully sh!t that is going on that island. It’s all about politics, money, and the corrupt government. It’s unfortunate because the people who are in power could careless what is going on in the slums of Haiti; the only thing they are concerned about is remaining in power and making money. Go Wyclef! I support all your efforts in restoring Haiti.

I saw it and it was really interesting. People were treating him as if he was God, placing his hands on their heads.. So sad..

Thank you Wyclef. A lot more superstars like you need to put their names to causes like this. Like many Jews who are a very small population in this country, but have a huge positive impact educationally, financially and are in key roles of industry and government, we to as black people should help bring each other up. Let us stop being on the top of lists collectively of having the least and having the worst. We need to network to bring each other up. Thank you Wyclef, Oprah, Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Danny Glover, Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Sheryl Lee Ralph and those who use their fame, connections and/or wealth to go around the world and here at home to fight for the cause of the poor, sick and homeless. I am happy that many races of people want to help black people of the world, but it is with great pride when fortunate blacks lead the pack.

Yeah I was flippin between this and the Golden Globes. I didn’t know that Wyclef was that respected in Haiti though. I have some classmates that are from Haiti and they tell me how incredibly rough or a country it is. People killing each other and living off of clay? Wow…I have a lot of respect for Wyclef and I hope that his efforts bring awareness and change to his country.

the real issues get few comments……….yet we blame the media. Red carpet stuff get all the attention and comments. arguing on what who wore. we gotta stop blaming the media for what the give us. they only give us what we like.

People don’t realize the importance of Philanthropy!
For him to give back just as much as he was given, is the greatest gift of all!
And all the posts that CL gets about Beyonce, hell if it weren’t for Wyclef, Destiny’s Child wouldn’t have blew up the way they did. He put them on the map..
I would definitely like to see more celebrities doing more for their communities and the world abroad…This is what makes world a better place to live in!!!

Thank you for posting this. I am also Haitian but we all tend to forget where we come from and how bad it is, especially when we were not born from the impoverished country but are US-born.
It made me cry realizing how I had forgotten my own people but made me hopeful in knowing that where I plan to go in life will help Haiti and it’s people.
I know a lot of black people look down on Haitians but how can you possibly see us as less than you when we went through the same struggles as your ancestors and paved the way for your liberty as the first back nation to gain independence?
Please help your brothers and sisters in Haiti. If you don’t, no one will… Thanks!

I’m Haitian and all I can say is he is not gtting paid to do this he is doing this because he loves his country. He has been working hard to get Haiti in good condition it hasn’t been easy, but with Haitian’s like myself backing him up we will someday accomplish this. CL thank for focus on this issue it’s not the first time you’ve talked about Haiti’s condition and I hope it’s not the last.
