Inspirational. What a truly inspiring and moving concert. The music was wonderful, thought provoking and moving. Every single entertainer did an EXCELLENT JOB!!! It was evident by the smiles on their faces, the passion in their delivery, that every participant was very proud to be a part of the historic pre-inauguration celebration of Barack Obama. The patriotic songs sang at this event, for the first time in my adult life, resonated with me as an American. I really believed and felt every word of these songs. I can only say that I am proud that we as a nation have come to this point and am now hopeful that we will continue on this path as we still have much work ahead of us. We, as African Americans, have not received reparations but I believe that under Barack’s leadership we, as a nation, will continue to rectify the wrong of slavery and we can do this by finding the answer to our public EDUCATION system which is in desperate need of repair. EDUCATING MY PEOPLE IS REPARATION ENOUGH AS KNOWLEDGE IS POWER WHICH TRULY OPENS ALL DOORS.

Amazing how everything can turn into a Beyonce fest. Some people like her, others don’t. Can we move on to more important pressing issues? Anyway, everyone was great EXCEPT Shakira. Good Lord! Anyway, kudos to our new president and beautiful First Family.

There’s a new season and a new day beginning tomorrow when history takes place yet again. I’m so proud of this moment. I know Obama is not God and can’t make change by himself. Hopefully we as a nation will elevate.

  3. JUDAH

I wonder if any black people wonder why the white man pushes an Obama congruency with Abraham Lincoln?

  4. itzzzkimmm

I love the Obamas!! They are so just FAB!! I can’t wait til tomorrow!! History baby!

  5. BEYONCE

Young, professional, hard-worker, attractive, and rich. She needs to just laugh at the haters. Cause the haters will always be around trying to bring you down, lol!

  6. HALCYONC

“I followed Obama for 4 years and I know which celebrities SUPPORTED OBAMA FROM JUMP. Half the celebs there did not SUPPORT OBAMA UNTIL HE WON. Bunch of hypocrites.Absolutely disgusting. Bandwagon coattail riders. You silly posters are so damn gullible with ooh and ahhing over celebs who attending this “circle jerk for their egos and face time”. These mofos are riding Obama’s coattails for their own success. Where were they during the PRIMARIES?
Stevie, Will.I.Am. Bono, Springsteen, Mellencamp, supported OBAMA from jump street. SMMFH @ you starry eyed fool giving big ups to johnny come lately celebs.
And screw Beyonce. This isn’t about her ego, greedy self IT’S ABOUT OBAMA. History doesn’t give a shit about “when I say George you say Bush two face Beyonce. She’s evil, backstabbing, greedy person.”
    **************************************************************

EXACTLY! Are we that simple minded that our attention could not be held by Obama the first black president? It just seems that whenever blacks are involved someone always has to be dancing or singing.

omg why is everyone so fixated on talkin about bey when it wasn’t even about her, in all honesty i don’t even remember her preformance. anywho i said the sme thing about tigger no wanting to be black.

“The celebrities are as much a part of our society as everyone and remember that as wonderful, great, annointed, and chosen as Obama is (and truly believe he is!); he would never have been able to pull this off without $$$.”

Most celebrities live in their own world. They don’t consider themselves “part of society. They think they are better than you. Don’t be fooled.

  11. Dee

Three snaps in Z formation for the fierceness that is michelle obama, and the obama girls r to cute esp that little sasha

  12. vj

Michelle looking fly! I knoooow mary j killed that performance cant wait to see.

  13. kmniles

Here we go with this Beyonce bullshit. She performed…get over it! And if you are gonna spread lies about the woman at least have your lies straight. She donated and attended several rallies and even put her promo tour on hold to participate.

  14. Kat1

Can’t wait for the inauguration ceremony! Also looking forward to the neighborhood ball. Mariah Carey’s going to sing “Hero”.

I hope that everyone realizes that Barack Obama is not going to be the cure for everything that ails America. I think the expectations among Black people especially are really too high for him. There are A LOT of things that need fixing in our country. We all have to ultimately take responsibility for ourselves and our families.

  15. ydfc

#18,,,YOU ARE SO RIGHT! other than Stevie Wonder, where are all the talented black musicians who know and appreciate what this time in our history really means…some Motown legends and such…these people had to endure so much to have their music played on the radio during a time in our history when music was what our people used to sustain their everyday lives…

  16. Greta

Congratulations Obamas !!! Nice Ceremony especially Stevie & Bono

  17. Lisa

I thought Josh Grobin, the duet with Bon Jovi, and U2 had the best performances. I love H. Headley’s voice, I just wish she had sang a different song or had a solo, perhaps even sang the song that Beyonce did. I don’t think her performance with Grobin showed her skills. I must say, it’s time for our black artists to start creating real, meaning music again (I know Will.I.Am is) because their performances was the least impressive and uninspirational. We need some real singers to come back. I wish Whitney had gotten her act together sooner.

  18. nychic

@ Michelle. Yes, Rosiario Dawson supported Barack Obama for a long time and has discussed it publicly. In addition, she has done a lot of great work around some of the issues he cares about. No, she was not a McCain rally! She’s a very politcally active celbrity. Just because she didn’t personally call you and discuss her support, doesn’t mean she didn’t.

Too all complaining about the concert. People have traveled across the world to be in D.C. and most of them can’t get into the inagural balls. There is nothing wrong with giving people are free, star studded concert – it is a weekend of celebration. These celebs weren’t there to legislate, they were there to entertain. Get over it. If you have problems with the people who performed, don’t be mad at the performers, blame the organizers.

Yes Beyonce is overexposed and she will hustle her way into anything she thinks will advance her career. She would perform for the Taliban if she thought it would advance her career. We know this. However, do we need to turn every post into a Beyonce thread? If you didn’t like seeing here there, get over it. And if you think she was the most important part of the show – get a reality check.

Michelle is such a great face for black woman. It’s nice to finally see some class and intellegence.

  19. Beyonceisdesperate

Exactly @ 115!! The Obama’s represent true class and black royalty, not Btrash w/her fame wh0ring and Jayz ex drug dealing self. Some blacks get caught up in Btrash making history, so you know those stans think it’s all about that transparent beeyotch. History cares about Obama, the entire country and world care about Obama’s history candidacy, not some dumb as dirt opportunistic, illiterate, egomaniac pop singer. First Lady Michelle is the true epitome of what a black woman is and history cares about that. LOL @ the stans seeking validation for Btrash making history like she was the only performer there.

  20. SoutherDiva

What is up with the face of Abraham Lincoln? Google his memorial, none of the other pictures look like this

  21. Have Not Thought Of A New User Name

    @ 127. giggles

It’s funny you said that my mom was like if she see Montel Williams she gone fall out. lol

  22. doublecheeseburger

    Number 75

the reason we can’t be one is because of negative people like yourself…

things will change if we put our heads together and work together,,, but we will never go anywhere if we keep thinking like “YOU”

i think the obamas looked great and one thing i noticed is michelle and Obama always have real smiles on their face.. even my racist co worker converted to loving obama because he is so calm and collected and poised. she said he really have a pation to changing the world and thats why she is gonna follow him..

  23. Lady T

    I WAS THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  24. Lady T

Wow I can’t believe with such wonderful things going on people are talking about Beyonce? This has proved to me that some of you have some SERIOUS insecure issues. c’mon people. It’s a New Day

  25. I can’t believe I missed this :(

damn me for being asleep all day yesterday. oh my God…I would of taped it, and I tape EVERYTHING on Obama LOL. Hopefully it will repeat again.

  26. Sybil

OMG, it’s 2009 and we have a wonderful man about to lead our country. Can we please stop the pettiness and complete nastiness toward each other? I love my black people and I love all people, it’s really time we try and get along with one another. I feel like the celebrities and people taking part in this moment were all genuine or at least really trying to be, if not for themselves but for the people who follow them.

Whateva! I’m going to enjoy this time and ignore all the hate.

    Peace.

candy for my soul & she’ll learn available on amazon.com

  27. SIMMONSROYALTY

WHAT AN INSPRIRTION!!!! IM JUST EXCITED TO BE ALIVE AND TO BE ABLE TO WITNESS THIS HISTORIC AND MOMENTOUS OCCASION! MY PRAYERS ARE WITH U PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA!

  28. Beyonceisdesperate

@ Lady T #145, check Btrash for beggin to be in the center of attention at a historic event, while you’re at it, ask her why she’s creole one day, longs to be latina another day, and black when we have a black President. More importantly, why is Btrash and her dry blond weaving wearing, lipo having, new nose wearing, kicking her friends out of the group because she must be the center of attention, throwing friends like Kelly under the bus, fake humbleness, contacts, skin bleaching Btrash about her insecurity issues.

Ask Btrash why Solange and Kelly are fighting?

Stans didn’t know that Btrash was at the Bush inauguration in 2000. Her family supported and voted for Bush in 2000 and 2004 because they’re registered Republicans, yet it’s a secret. Stan, don’t talk to me about insecurity since Btrash is full of them.

    Suck it zombies.

  29. Beyonceisdesperate

To add, why don’t you stans, if this is 2009 and all about “unity”, and celebrating Obama’s victory, then why was Kelly noticeable absent from the party festivities? Ask Btrash about throwing Kelly under the bus. Kelly and Solange are fighting because Kelly wants better representation for her solo career, but the Knowles care about Btrash and baby momma SoSo’s career advancement. Kelly is finally understanding what the other exDC members are going thru. You negroes kill me with this unity crap, all the while Btrash and her family are anything but. She opportunist and grifters.

  31. TRU3RELIGION

LMAO!!! this is suppose 2 be a post about The Coming of Change in America but yet everyone still finds a way to ease dumb ass Beyonce in somewhere…smh. But anywho i actually liked ALL the performances even Beyonce’s. It was SO nice to see all races and different walks of life from different fields come together at a meaningful time in our country’s history but i WILL agree with some people who stated that some stars were only there to promote because that is true and hey what do you expect? Most celebs are just using charities and things like these to show face and remind the media that HEY IM STILL HERE….DONT 4GET ABOUT ME!!! Now as for the Beyonce i will say that she is just doing this for her career. She didnt even sit back to be invited she invited herself. And we ALL know dat is da damn truth. She basically through herself on the Inauguration party and im sure that Matthew found some type of way to get her in there so i think that is why she is there but thats my opinion…i jus cant stand her honestly lol im sorry ya’ll can hate me all u like but its just something about her now that urks my soul lol. But yea lets CELEBRATE our man OBAMA because he deserves it and we DAMN sure as a country deserve it so round of applause!!!!!!! :D

  32. TRU3RELIGION

    ….AND P.S. TO PSHH!!!
i dont usually call peeps out on here but u kinda set yaself up for this one. now tell me this…does the first couple know that that damn dance was stolen?!?! hmmm…..i guess not. I think Michelle meant to say to Obama “You forgot to tell Beyonce you know how to do that dance she stole!” hahahaha im so damn mean but yea sorry for calling u out but like i said u set yaself up 4 it ;)
    P3ACE!!!

  33. Beyonceisdesperate

@tru3religion, FTFO!! I totally forgot to add that Btrash stole her dance from FOSSE and her costume from Lady Gaga!! Btrash is a social climbing trash and it totally shows. She’s so transparent.

  34. Luke W

I was just happy to be part of history.
