My mother graudated with a major in English. She geniunely gets frustrated when she hears Beyonce in an interview where she has to appear educated because it comes off very odd. Not saying she is dumb by any means or questioning her intellect however, she does seem very akward in speaking situations. She needs to take some more public speaking classes and learn to emote through her words. She sounds like a robot with a 500 word vocabulary.

Beyonce is very illiterate. She was interviewed at the inauguration by Robin Roberts I was really embarrassed for her, just as said she never answered the questions. She tried to equate it to her being overjoyed she even tried to make as if she was crying because she couldn’t put together a sentence. I said to a friend of mine that she reminds me of the bum girl in class. I don’t mean to sound so harsh, but she’s definitely not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. Although she is a great performer.

Yes, Beyonce has millions and could build a college, but as I tell people in my own community, why would I want to attend a school where the founder does not have a grasp of the English language, and makes no attempt to educate themselves? Second, she is not illiterate, she is alliterate. Alliterate is the ability to read and write at lower levels, or when necessary (in her case in order to learn a song), but these individuals cannot express themselves (ie interviews). She (Beyonce) even admitted on Oprah that she does not read a book during Oprah’s book club episode. Hello..

Beyonce and members of Destiny Child were all homeschooled because they were on the road alot there is no record of Beyonce graduating for any high school. Hopefully, with her new obsession with the Obamas she herself mentioned in her lastest interview that they make her want to be smarter. I see Beyonce going back to school and furthering her education and maybe majoring in Art since she has such a great love for art and is a pretty good artist herself. Gosh, Beyonce has been sounding a lot better in interviews. I used to hate the way she spoke, but if you’ll notice, she does speak better. She’ll get there eventually with wisdom and age. I think as well, she is just 26 and it will all come in due time. I’ve heard many say she is older, I don’t think so because intelligence also comes with maturity and wisdom. Gosh, Beyonce has been sounding a lot better in interviews. I used to hate the way she spoke, but if you’ll notice, she does speak better. She’ll get there eventually with wisdom and age. I think as well, she is just 26 and it will all come in due time. I’ve heard many say she is older, I don’t think so because intelligence also comes with maturity and wisdom. I have a degree in mass communications and public relations, and let me tell you something…this ad was ingeniously written! I give accolades to the writer! And it fit Beyonce’s slight southern drawl and sluggish vocal pace very well! It was a perfect match!!!

The art of PR is a complex thing! I have never been intrigued by the Dereon clothing line or its urban counterpart, House of Dereon, but this ad makes me want to at least check out the entire summer 09 collection on the website or in the Macy’s catalog. Good job, Beyonce!

I have read every single post up until the one I just posted and I can’t believe some of you have the nerve to say how dumb and uneducated she is when some of you can’t spell or put a sentence together yourselves.

I must admit, I have said some of the same things about her in the past but you know what? It is what it is. She did mention that President Barack Obama makes her want to be “smarter”. Whether it was a stupid statement or not, it really is up to her if she wants to be more knowledgeable.

Beyonce should just sing, gyrate and look pretty. She should never under any circuumstances open her mouth and do a narrative. It amazes me how she can carry herself with such grace and class, then open her mouth and sound like someone who didn’t make it past middle school. Most pop stars are not particularly articulate-many are downright airheads-but, Beyonce sounds damn near illiterate. She has such control and precision when she sings, but she cannot enunciate words properly when she speaks. It’s mind-boggling! I guess she has enough going for her that it doesn’t matter whether she’s a great orator or not, but her astounding lack of fundamental speaking skills puts a huge dent in her “diva” image.

The dresses are ok, I guess. Just about everything looks goo on her, so I can ecide how I feel about the pieces presented in the clip. i have a few pairs of her jeans though, and I couln’t live without them. I love how long Dereon pants are.

On Oprah, Tyra, Ellen and a few other shows that she has done interviews on she seems more comfortable.

Just to let you know, most of the islands were former british territories, and english was the first language, and taught very well in school. When islanders want to put on the queens english, they sure can. What you hear somtimes, is just island dialect, patois, creole and the like, spoken by islanders when they are around each other, or when they want to. Rihanna puts her words together well, and should not be ashamed of her accent or heritage to please people like you.

I have bought two pieces from House of Dereon and I”ma pass moving forward. Please stop saying bad things about this woman. God made her who she is. Everyone is unique. Our vocabulary and enunciation is developed via our enviroment. Along with the curiosity of expanding our vocabulary. Evidently, Beyonce was very sheltered. She may have a disability that we do not know about. For example, Kelly and Tina would say “Beyonce is so sweet and talented”. They were extremely protective of her. And they both grew up in the same enviroment. I feel somewhat “sorry ” for this womean because I feel she is being used by her father mother sister and even her husband. In her movie that is coming out with Idiris, I think its called “Obsessed,” again, she made no attempts to hire a speech coach, and again she sounds unintelligent. There really isn’t much of an excuse of Beyonce speaking like this. She has been in the game for 12 years and still sound like she has not had a speech coach. She sounds like a new artist coming in the game with no guidance. What makes it worst is that she is 27 years-old!! No excuses if she was a regular person sounding like this we all would’ve been clowning her and saying she makes the black race look bad. Because she has money, people want to make excuses. That’s sad and very shallow people.

Anyways I always thought that Beyonce coming out with House of Dereon as an urban line was a mistake. Beyonce is not known for her urban wear, but is known for gowns. I think she should have marketed as such. She should have cocktail dresses, prom gowns, evening gowns, and maybe if her designs don’t come off too tacky, she could get away with designing wedding gowns. Anyways, I do think her dress line should’ve been her first option.

How nice was that I loved that commercial or whatever it was it was beautiful and so was she and the picture loved it!

Yall crazy, there’s nothing wrong with Bey’s voice, WHAT you want her to use that phony, pseudo caucasian accent. Education is important, but there is more than one way to obtain an education than sitting in a classroom. There’s hand on hand experience, and that’s what Bey has. In the classroom they teach you how to be successful in the business world, or in the arts, etc. That’s just to prepare you for the world outside the classroom. It’s how successfully you apply those principles and theories learned in the classroom that determines the outcome in the outside world. Those A’s and B’s don’t mean jack or that degreee, if you can not apply that knowledge succcessfully in the real world. Well, Bey has done that, she is a success, in music, in entrepreneurship, acting and marketing herself for different endorsement.

Some of you keep talking negatively about her designer labels Dereon and House of Dereon, well they are young labels compared to labels such as Chanel, Dior etc., those labels have been around for decades. Give Dereon a chance to grow. Some of you talk about her acting skills, give here a chance to develop that as well. Bey made 4 million on her last movie, “Cadillac Records”, (which she donated to charity), that might be low campared to some of the other actors in Hollywood, but when was the last time anyone offered you 4 mil for anything? Bey is world traveled, have seen and exprienced many life changing expriences. That’s an education in its self. So just because she has not sat in some stuffy classroom for years, cramming for exams and finals, does’nt mean she is not educated.

The whole idea of education is make you a productive member of society, a more cultured person and to provide a means to make a decent living. People spend tons of money and years to become lawyers, doctors, senators, engineers etc, to provide a needed service yes, but they also want to live the “Good Life”. They all make very good money ……………. but none of them make 80 million a year, not even the president. So all you people that keep talking negatively about Bey, well you know what they say ………. talk is cheap, no matter how eloquently stated.

Well she did say the new president makes her want to be smarter, so there is still hope for her vocabulary. For all we know she could be taking on line classess as we speak. I must say that, though I am a HUGE fan of Beyonce (and always will be), why is it that the things featured in the ads and the items offered to the general public are not equal in quality or style? I’ve found that the items are cheap in both look and quality, yet the prices are not conducive to what’s being offered.

I’m very disappointed in the line. The dresses that Bey is wearing in the video are beautiful but I’m sure they won’t look like that in the stores. The detailing on the clothes and shoes are often not as classy and glamorous as the singer herself. Maybe it’s the market I’m in… but then again I do LIVE IN NEW YORK for God’s sake!
