Sade– I think I read somewhere that the company that does that will send you a kit for “X” amount of money and you take a swab of inside your mouth and then send it back to that company. Then they can analyze that in their lab or whatever and let you know what your origin.

I would encourage a lot of you to check out that DNA place. I am African and I have decent sense of who I am but my history narration is disrupted after my great grand father. I want to find out more and leave some history fr my son. So yeah, it is for all of us to explore and consequently write our OWN history. Most of our history was passed down verbally so most of it is lost but thankfully not ALL!

and oh yeah chris. i knew it was him anyway. i think the reason why some ppl talk about their non-black blood is not b/c they want to be less black (like someone else stated) but they want to show that race is not clear cut like everyone thinks it is. most of my white friends (and even black friends) make assumptions about people’s racial background based on coloring. you might be able to make general guesses but at the end of the day, you never know. most people aren’t fully anything.
