I real happy for Taraji i hope she wins..
Congrats to TARAJI!!! I hope this opens more doors for her in Hollywood.
Anyway, Slumdog Millionnaire BETTER win Best Picture this year, and AR Rehman for his music. Nothing has comes close to it IMO. Oh yeah, I’d be glad if The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke picks up a few.
love taraji hope she wins.benjamin button was an awesome movie for yall who havent seen it yet…
GO TARAJI !!!! I Pray that she wins, that would be so wonderful.
I think that this is such a great thing for both of these talented black actresses.
Wow, that’s a big deal Taraji. Congrats.
DC’s own making us proud. She better work and the other sister too. They say its the year of the Hispanic but I think its the year of the Black, actually this is the turning tide for us all.
Well done for Slumdog and my black actresses getting recognition.
The Oscars are to political though.
Congrats to Viola and Taraji!!! 2 out of 5 ain’t bad! I haven’t seen either movie, but I hope one of them walks away with it
Haven’t seen the HK movie either! I might check it out
Im soo proud of Taraji; That Segment is deep; i’m looking forward to seeing more of that…
I’m so proud of Taraji, she came a long way since Baby Boy…I hope she wins!! At least she’s a REAL actress compared to *singers who wants to boost up their ego…mad because they got upstaged by a rookie*…oops did i say that?
I’m glad for both ladies, hope Taraji wins though. She deserves it. She’s been doing her thing for a while and I’m glad she’s finally being recognized. And please can we leave other’s name out of this post. Has nothing to do with anyone else who happens to be a “singer” who happened to not be nominated.
Let us just focus on the issue at hand and that is we are being recognized for things other than the negativity that’s mostly exploited/portrayed of us instead of the good. I have yet to see either movie but plan on seeing Taraji’s movie this weekend. Hopefully it’s still in theaters but I’m sure it is.
With that being said, good luck to both of these ladies!!
Congrats Taraji and Viola!
oh and congrats for the documentary nomination that is a truly deserving award!
I’m so happy for Taraji!!!! her career is getting even better!
congratz to Taraji and Viola…i actually saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with Tarajii and she did a good job…im liking the fact that she is being recognize….but i would love to see more black actresses get nominated in Lead Actress category because this is the 81st Oscar and only Halle Berry is the only black actress to win that award…..
Even if she doesnt win Taraji has come leaps and bounds in a short space of time, 09 is definitely her year!, one of my new faves for sure…
1st of all let me say that Penelope is the last bitch i want to see win anything!!!!
Congrats to Viola and Taraji though hope it’s a tie!!!!
Viola has a MUCH better chance at winning than Taraji, though I am happy that both ladies were nominated.
Taraji P. Henson did an awesome job in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button…..She’s a good actress!
With that being said, Penelope Cruz will take the win for, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, with Viola Davis coming in at a VERY close second for her role in Doubt…..As Taraji P. Henson grows as an actress, she will definitely be bound to win an Academy Award (she has the ability to be a brilliant actress)!
Congrats to Viola and Taraji! They deserve it!
Slumdog is one of the best films I’ve seen in a long time, I hope its nominated!
“Trouble The Water” is a good look. I am so very proud of this documentary and my sisters; Taraji and Viola. Stand up my people, AMERICA is watching!
Go Taraji!!!! Havent seen Benjamin Button yet, but I heard she was great in it.

YAY for Taraji, i certainly hope she takes it home..

i’m gonna go see the katrina movie…. looks good!!!
Way to go Taraji! Putting DC on the map!!
Great for both ladies for their nominations. I have seen both of them act but think that Viola is well deserving of the award this time. She also played Fantasia’s mother in the Fantasia Barrino story.
Taraj..has come along way… I hope she wins… God bless her
Congrats to Taraji, I hope she wins. Although the movie was really long, she did a fantastic job!
ooh man I can’t wait to see ‘slumdog millionaire’…. looks so good!
I read the news earlier today. Congratulations to my black women. Ms Viola Davis should take this home. Everyone is raving about her park scene performance against The Legendary Meryl Streep, who’s my favorite actress in the whole wide world along with Cate Blanchet and Angela Basset
viola played the mom in antwone fisher too… both are great actresses…. but Taraji I’m rooting for u… after your performance in hustle and flow i though you u deserved a nomination then… who ever wins, it better be one of these two ladies …. Congrats….
TARAJIIII CONGRATS BABY BOY IS STILL MY FAVORITE MOVIE
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy for Taraji and Viola. Taraji was exceptional in BB, and i am happy that they recognized her. WOOT WOOT!!
I cant choose between the two for the winner, but i do think Viola is overdue.
yyyyyaaaaaaaaaaaay taraji… give credit where credit is due … just being nominated is good … did etta movie even get in …. just asking ….. lol
I was so glad to find out that Taraji P. Henson got nominated for an Oscar! I know she is just beaming from the news! She did a great job in her role as Benjamin’s mother. She’s also just a down to earth person who hasn’t been jaded by Hollywood. It’s a great thing that there are 2 Black women nominated in the same category. How often does that happen?!
This is Great…..Pressline Entertainment is also producing a show which deal with this issue. Mr. Derek Haskell ,C.E.O of Pressline entertainment was in Washington D.C. with Obama, discussing his plans for the youth and Hip-Hop generation. Rapper lil. Wayne is in talks of being on the project with Jay Z, T.I, The Game, Snoop Dogg, Nas and many more…Stay tumed for this major production of 2009. This production is backed by President Obama
They all did good, but Penelope Cruz is gonna win by a landside.
Congrats Taraji and Viola !!!!!!
Taraji deserves to win because her acting is outstanding but it’s already a big deal to even be a nominee.Best Wishes to all the ladies.
Viola Davis is from my home state. I will be rooting for her.

I’ve been hearing that Viola will win, it’s still great that both of these talented sistas are being reconigzed for their work! Work it though Taraji !!

Dc stand up!!!!!!!!! I’m so proud of miss Henson!
I’m so proud of Taraji, she came a long way since Baby Boy…I hope she wins!! At least she’s a REAL actress compared to *singers who wants to boost up their ego…mad because they got upstaged by a rookie*…oops did i say that?
I was thinking the same thing lol.
Anyways, congrats to both ladies!!
