MOVIE BITS: “DANCE FLICK” TRAILER / “FAST & THE FURIOUS” BACK / WILL SMITH BRINGS IN THE $$$ IN 08′
Friday, January 9, 2009
Those crazy Wayans’ Brothers are back with another movie spoof called “Dance Flick”. This movie, which hits theaters August 6th 2009, manages to make fun of every recent dance movie you can think of, including “Step Up”, “Save The Last Dance”, and “Hairspray”.
Directed by Damien Dante Wayans, and written by Keenen Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, Craig Wayans, and Damien Dante Wayans, the film stars Damon Wayans Jr., Craig Wayans, Shoshana Bush, and Essence Atkins.
THE FAST & THE FURIOUS IS BACK

Vin Diesel and Paul Walker team up along with the rest of the original cast of 2001’s The Fast Of The Furious, for the fourth installment of the film - simply titled “Fast & Furious”.
Having all the original cast members back builds anticipation, especially after the last two disappointing sequels. You can expect to see lots of action and great cars in this one…which comes out on April 3rd, 2009.
WILL SMITH - 08′S TOP MONEY MAKING MOVIE STAR

Will Smith brought a lot of smiles to movie theater owners last year whenever he released a movie. According to a recent poll, the actor brought in the most money for theaters:
Smith, star of “Hancock” and “Seven Pounds,” was voted the star who generated the most box office revenue for theaters in an annual survey by Quigley Publishing Co.
Smith is only the second black actor to be chosen in the Quigley poll, which since 1932 has asked movie exhibitors to vote on the 10 stars who brought in the most business. Sidney Poitier topped the poll in 1968.
Smith’s superhero summer blockbuster, “Hancock,” grossed $228 million. “Seven Pounds,” currently in theaters, has pulled in a somewhat lackluster $39 million in two weeks. SOURCE
Will is currently out of the country promoting his latest flick “Seven Pounds”.

Yeah Will! I wanna be like him when I grow up. Go somewhere and DIE Fast and Furious.
Dance Flick might be funny. All the spoof movies with the Wayans attached were funny (Scary Movie 1 & 2). After that they went severely downhill.

Will can do WTF he wants to do because he is the MAN right now.
Stupid Movies
Serious Movies
Depressing Movies
Funny Movies
He does well in them all. That shows diversity and we should be glad for him. He is so humble and that is why I will always respect his work. He always gives 100% no matter what and he represents “us” well. Can’t hate on him for that.

—> No one’s “hating” on Will. I love him as an actor & (from what we see) as a
—> person. I’m GLAD he’s getting his guap. I just wish he put out quality material
—> while getting it. Black people always quick to settle for mediocrity, just because
—> one of ours is the one behind it.
—> Hancock was just wack & Seven Pounds was long, boring & with a horrible
—> message in the end. It didn’t even come CLOSE to the horn it tooted for itself.

Wow. I’m gonna have to check Seven Pounds due to the hating on this movie in here.
Complex…Will has done some exceptional work and everyone is entitled to a few mediocre movies in their resume. It’s not like he’s doing Madea movies or Flavor Of Love flicks, so cut him some slack, lol.
31…you act as if Will’s scenes were as graphic as Brokeback Mountain…that was something to raise some eyebrows at, lol. Besides, it’s rumored that he has an “open marriage” and “get’s down” in real life, so what he does on film is the least of your worries.
Won’t waste my dollars on Dance Flick, but I won’t hate on the Wayans for finding their niche (all 36 of them that’s credited to this movie).

did not like Hancock, wasted my $15.00 for the DVD, Seven Pounds was long and drawn out but Will played the role, he really kept you in suspense. He is such a fine actor and deserves an Oscar-he has played sci fi, super hero, to dramatic like pursuit of happiness( one of my favs). He needs to be in a movie with Halle Berry in a role somewhere btw monster’s ball and pursuit, it wld be the bomb.

It’s funny how some of you tear down black women on here. But black men can’t do no wrong if they’re the biggest in their fields. Will is fine with me. But I think that he overacts at times. He also needs to put women that have two black parents as his leading ladies more. Please, Will is kind of arrogant. He talks about being the biggest movie star on the planet or wanting to be all the time. I still support him because as black people when we got one at this level we’ve got to throw our weight behind them. I see that critics have been trying to tear him down his last two movies. That’s why it’s important as black people we got to support all black movies, even if we may not like all the people involved. As long as they’re decent, no Wesley Snipes or Young Berg type comments or behavior. We should support them. Because white society is really trying to limit how many of us achieve this type of fame and success in entertainment. So that means no bootlegging support black artists anyway that you can.

Congrats to Will Smth still making moves and taking the movie industry by storm. I haven’t seen his latest movies yet, but I’ll catch them when I get a chance.
“Black people always quick to settle for mediocrity, just because
one of ours is the one behind it.”
This is so true. I definitely agree with supporting our own, but at the same time if we want things to become better, we should expect better.

Oh and I’m not checking for this Fast and the Furious sequel. I really like th 2nd one, and the 3rd was ok, but enough is enough. The plot has been worn out. I’ll most likely end up seeing this when it comes on TV.

@Danny
Six Degrees of Separation (of Will Smith), lol, is the reason why he is a movie star today. He had to do that film to be allowed to become a movie star. However many white men he had sex with in that movie, multiply that by 100 and that’s what he’s had to do behind closed doors on these casting couches for these movie producers and directors.
