According to Sam over at TheGrapeJuice.net, Music World has confirmed reports that singer Kelly Rowland has split with her manager Mathew Knowles. They both released statements:

“After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship. My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost, and as a dad I only have love for Kelly.”

“Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance — both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects. Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family.”
No word on who her new manager will be. But rumors from a couple months back mentioned American Idol’s Simon Fuller and his company, 19 Entertainment.

She should have done this a long time ago, even though I don’t think that Matthew is entirely at fault. Her past songs have been boring, especially the ones that were released as singles, with the exception of the duet with Nelly. Still In Love With My Ex should have been the second single from her last album. I just hope she works with better producers and song writers for her next album, and receives more promotion because she has a nice voice. She just need to find the right music style that suits it. I wonder if Michelle is next..

First of all, because many of you only listen to American music stations you do not even realize how successful Kelly is overseas. I always liked Beyonce, it was her dirty father that caused hard feelings between those girls. I’m not saying that Beyonce is not a good entertainer, but Matthew had enough sense to make a difference between Beyonce and the other girls. Matthew like most sorry business men did not understand he could have been managing three successful careers under three different genres versus only one, Beyonce’s. Beyonce unfairly became the recepient of most of the criticisms (just like the criticisms you read on this blog). For example, when DC first came out, no one knew Beyonce from the other girls, but Matthew created a look, and made sure that the first and last notes were sang by his daughter, Beyonce. He pulled a “Three’s Company” by making sure that Beyonce always stood in the middle, and it was on. Psychologically when you look at an image, you always start in the middle, not left to right or right to left. I also want to dismiss those who will say the other girls could not sing. That’s a lie because Beyonce’s solo career (minus endorsements) does not equal the amount of money she made while she was a part of that group. Also, Matthew would not have had those girls around if they could not sing. Those girls could sing, Matthew just had a plan. Now, I’m not crazy about Michelle’s sound, but Kelly can definitely sing.
Can’t say I’m surprised. She’s released 2 or 3 albums and I haven’t heard much about any of them. Without proper management, promotions, & etc no one’s career has a chance. Partnering with Simon’s not a bad route. Leona’s hot because of him.

long time coming, dont ge time wrong, i Love Solange and think she brought out a good album, but did you see how much time they put into her, how many BIG shows she was doing as a new artist, Daddy Knowles was making sure she was everyone including big events with Beyonce, but Kelly just gets pushed to the side considering she been in teh game 4 long they invest half the stuff they did in SOlange, she needs a manage who gonna tailor 2 her needs and put her first not behind all the knowles girls, she doing BIG thingsin Europe so if she gets Simon Cowell hopefully he can elevate her career in the USA
This makes me smile inside. I love Kelly. I have been a fan since the beginning and I still rock to her first album Simply Deep. I hope that with this split she can get the attention and recognition that she gets in the UK over here in the states.

Personally I think it’s a wonderful professional decision for Kelly. Perhaps now she’ll get the promotions etc that she deserves. I’m not going to attack Mr. Knowles because I know nothing about him and how he handles business; however I will say that naturally he’d spend most of his time ensuring that his daughter is successful and I’m sure in that process everyone else kind of lands where they fall. So, congratulations Kelly.

But I honestly dont think Matthew is to blame for her lack of success, Bey took off for 2 years and Kelly had her chance to shine with the album “Ms Kelly” she worked with Tank, Eve, Polow da Don, S. Torch, Brian M Cox, Rodney Jerkins and Robin Thick!! I mean DAMN she had good producers and her CD was actually pretty good “WORK” was my jam, but THEN at the BET AWARDS in 07 she did a dreadful performance and I think Kelly messed it up from then on…She re released the album along with a damn DVD but still no press, so honestly I dont think Kelly has that “IT” factor that Rhianna, Beyonce and some others poses. Kelly did very well in UK regardless of what the US success was. Matthew know is very partial with beyonce. Obviously shes his daughter and he fauvourtised the whole group He could of had them all successful number 1 international artists but chose beyonce out of all. I love vee and i cant wait for her tour in may.But Matthew Knowles had the sense to make the idfferenc ebetween Beyonce and the other girls.
