It seems as though fans won’t get the continues Carter albums like they thought they would from Lil’ Wayne. The critically acclaimed and fan-favorite Tha Carter III only came out last year, and is still pushing out singles (“Mrs. Officer” still gets heavy radio spins and club play), and he’s on his huge national I Am Music tour, but he’s already gearing up for release of his next project, The Rebirth.
The New Orleans MC calls the album a “birth of a new beginning.”
“This is something brand new, so we don’t want it to be some experimental thing, ’cause some people are not gonna like this,” he told MTV News. [SOURCE]
The new LP is set to hit stores April 7th. But I’m not sure it’s what people are expecting. Wayne has been saying that he’s a rockstar, and with this new found style (Lil’ Wayne has been rocking a lot skinny jeans, fedoras, vests and flannels a la the newly popularized hipster scenes) and new piercings, I think he’s definitely channeling his inner Kurt Cobain. The new album is said to be an entirely rock album, where Mr. Carter will showcase his newly-found “guitar skills.”
ELECTRIK RED SETS RELEASE DATE
The fearsome foursome known as Electrik Red, signed to The Dream’s Radio Killa via Def Jam have finally set a release date for their debut album, How to Be a Lady: Volume 1. Binkie, Naomi, Lesley and Sarah, who all met while dancing in numerous videos and tours for the likes of Ciara, Janet Jackson and Usher, plan to release their album on March 24th.
The album is produced by The Dream and Tricky Stewart in its entirety. If you were a fan of The Dream’s debut album, Love/Hate, you’ll probably be a fan of the quartet’s album. Their next single, “So Good” is set to hit iTunes on February 3rd.
KERI HILSON SETS FINAL RELEASE DATE
Our girl Keri Hilson has set a final date for her anticipated debut album, In A Perfect World…
After a few set backs and singles, Keri has finally gotten a hit with her Lil’ Wayne-assisted single, “Turnin’ Me On,” which has entered the shot on the Top 50 at #43. The album, which features productions from Timbaland, Polow Da Don and Cory Bold will drop on March 24th.
Meanwhile, while gearing up for the release of her project, Keri is currently on Lil’ Wayne’s I Am Music tour along with T-Pain and Keyshia Cole, and there are rumors of adding more dates after the tour wraps in March.
I’m excited about this. I think that the success of “Turnin’ Me On” has given Keri the push she needs to get this album out finally, ’cause I’ve been checking for Keri for a long time.

First of all, Lil Wayne’s album just came out, it seems like it just came out yesterday! LOL Why in the world is he releasing another album so soon? I think Lil Wayne is overrated and just like every other rapper, he’ll have his time when his fame fades away.
Keri Hilson… that single Turning Me On aint even doing good. Top 40??? That’s pretty bad. I guess since none of her other singles stepped out of the 100 spot, it seems like the single is actually doing good. I don’t even hear it on the radio much. No matter what, she’ll never make it as a successful singer. She doesn’t have the right image, diversity, and she doesn’t bring anything new to the table. No hate at all, just the truth.
I’m not even exicted for Keri’s album anymore. I liked Energy then the album kept getting pushed back and back. I’m not intrested at all and I dislike turning me on. But I hope she does well.

I think Lil Wayne will have much success in ‘O9 like he did last year.The only thing changing is his image and the genre of the music.He can now add a hint of rock to the hip hop which is dope—Keri Hilson is my favorite out right now period and I love how she keeps getting better.She can push the album back to August and I would still buy it lol I’m just a true fan and I love her music.
