I LIKE THE SONG

Letoya, kelly, beyonce and solange all sound so similar vocally, perhaps its a houston thing.

The song is okay, nothing groundbreaking. The lyrics aren’t that great considering Neyo wrote it and he’s normally a great songwriter. Sounds a bit like Tshirt by Shontelle or Tatoo by Jordonsparks.

@6 if you want to hear more interesting music perhaps stop listening to the radio and check out artists like amel larrieux, santagold or kevin michael. There is talent out there but its not on the radio.

As far as attaining Hot 100 success, i can’t forsee it.—I do believe Letoya will definately break through on the R&B charts.—Unfortunately, the industry is extremely tough these days, the competition is tough as well. If you are comparing Letoya to the amel larrieuxs, and jill scotts of the world then hell yeah it would sound weak. Amel and Jill are on a different level. I am not sure what people are expecting from Letoya but Beyonce, Kelly, Rihanna, etc. are her competition and she needs to put out songs that will appeal to that particular audience AND most 13 to 21 year olds are not listening to Amel or Jill.

IT’S A GROWER

I give her props for coming with her sophomore album.

But how does this sound any different than Tierra Marie’s song “Hunt for You”, and Christina Milian’s sound on “Us Against the World”. I mean it is all starting to blend together and sound the same.

No distinction and no growth artistically to me. But how will this song make her stand out from everyone that is in the industry already? It’s not distinctive and Neyo’s songs are starting to sound the exact same that he writes for female artists.

Are u tryna say she’s copying off of those Artist’s? Is this not how LeToya made her Debut, while everyone else was doing booty shakin music LeToya came out with a ballad. This and Mid-tempo’s are LeToya’s lane, yeah she’ll have some songs to make u dance but this style is her signature. HAS anyone else noticed the new trend for female r&b artists lately?…Id say Rihanna started it, correct me if im wrong. But im noticin that ever since she started singing on traditionally “white girl” love ballad pop tracks all the others have followed suit. Examples of what im talkin about:
Rihanna puts out songs like distrubia, take a bow, S.O.S, etc all with very Euro-American instrumentals but VERY hot
then now we got Christina Millian Us Against the World
Teairra Mari Hunt for You and Holla Back, and Finding My Way Back.
All of these songs either sound EXACTLY alike or have the same white girl beat backdrop trend thingy goin on.

Although all this stuff is hot now, i see it gettin played out and dry real soon just like this vocoder thing.

Tpain drops the vocoder, RIhanna put’s “urban” vocals ontop of white pop dance tracks and ballads and the entire rap game and female r&b singers follow suite.

If there was an award for most influential male and female artists of the last few years Id hand it to T Pain and Rihanna easily.

I love her voice, some how I think she can do even better, don’t hold back girl! I tend to agree with what some of you are saying in terms of the same old thing with these love songs; that’s why I prefer to hear the artist who put a different spin on it, Rihanna, even though she isn’t a real singer, Jill Scott, Jazmine Sullivan, these people bring something different, unique anyways i like the song and wish her the best of luck.

i love her voice because she doesn scream, too many people think all good singers are the ones that have to scream as if they are posessed or suffering from pain.
