Jay-Z and Nas teamed up with Young Jeezy for the new remix, which Jay-Z performed during one of the Inaugural events in DC over the weekend. Since then, the radio hasn’t been able to get enough of spinning the record.

Jay Z needs to go back into retirement. That Neighborhood Ball performance was terrible And those big nerd glasses only look good on people with small features. If you have a big nose and lips, don’t rock the big nerd glasses.

Anyways I’m growing tired of these artists trying to gain popularity and more gross off of the president. It was ok to hear 1 or 2 songs, but it’s almost every rapper now. There’s tons of things going on in the world, in the U.S. alone so there’s plenty of things to rap about.

I’ve been said that Jay should’ve stayed in retirement. When you don’t know how to bow out gracefully is when you start to lose your credibility. Didnt listen to the song but I already knew what to expect. I was a bit confused by his Neighborhood Ball performance because he was saying she and I thought he was talking about Beyonce but is was talking about Victory being a she and she is his trophy wife, he just didnt need to be there. I just think Jay is all about self and not really trying to release anything positive to blacks.
Also, I was disgusted because Jay was talking to Entertainment Tonight and the interviewer was asking what him and Obama talked about the night before, and Jay kept saying its classified….then he goes on to say that before we were just friends but now its bigger, or some garbage like that. this is exactly what these white people want us minorites to do, make dumb songs talkin about materialistic ish and not about whats really important. this song is so stupid and if we keep acting and making stupid things like this we will never amount to anything more. we got the oppertunity to have a minority as president and we should celebrate it in a positive way to prove why we are ready to have a black person as president, but these derogatory songs make all these steps we have taken for equality look minimal. as a hispanic i feel we still need to show some more class to prove we deserved this overdue change a very long time ago.
I think Obama was probably trying to show appreciation for a lot of people by including them in history. I also think some people made themselves visable in this campaign for the purpose of inserting themselves this way. I don’t claim to know Jay-Z or how he acts or whatever but I really just expected more from him especially since Obama does recognize him as a friend. You would think he would have reacted better to the situation. I feel a sense of pride being black and finally having a black leader but I also want to make sure that I show some respect for the moment and not jack it up with lots of low class foolishness. There were so many people out in DC on Tuesday and there were no arrest. I am proud that we gather in a crowd for once and didn’t cut up but then u get this song and that video and suddenly that is how we are all portrayed. What’s the point of creating and then remixing a song about such a positive figure, if you are going to defame our race at the same time. Repeated the N word throughout the entire song, way to use your influence in a positive way. I would expect more from Jay-Z but I guess he’s just as ignorant as these other rappers. Do something worth while with your influence, encourage kids to read, or write.
