A New York City bakery has caused quite a bit of controversy as it capitalizes on President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

The Lafayette French Pastry Bakery in Greenwich Village is selling ‘Drunken Negro Face’ cookies — chocolate covered biscuits with large red eyes, nose and lips.

The bakery owner, Ted Kefalinos, claims it’s “just a fun face”. But news reports say he’s used the “N word” when talking about the cookies and made vague hints of assassination.

He reportedly told several patrons: “They’re in honor of our new president. He’s following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln. He will get what’s coming to him.”

Moments before he was killed, Oscar Grant was punched in the face — but not by the BART officer who shot him.

A new cellphone video shows another BART officer punching Grant just before he was shot by former BART Officer Johannes Mehserle, who was arrested on murder charges nearly two weeks ago.

The Poitier Funeral home helped transport the bodies to a ‘state funeral’ for the four homeless military veterans.

“Needlessly, veterans are dying in our streets, and we need to provide intervention for them. Although we would love to see the entire homeless community helped, we as veterans have a solemn duty to address the needs of those who have served our nation through military service. We will leave no soldier behind, no matter what the battlefield may be.”
