Just wanna say thank you for your continued support and well wishes! I know its been a while since you’ve heard from me – the past few weeks have been craaazy!!!

ursulabday.gif As some of you loyal Concreteloop/ASK URSULA readers may already know, I had a fabulous birthday party in NYC. It was an amazing turn out. Great people, music, food, and the vibe was nothing but love! Special thanks to Michelle Williams for hosting, and to FHI Heat, Mizani, and Uptown magazine for sponsoring! Shout out to Melka (Mizani), Krystal Thorpe (Epiphany Agency), Troy Monaco, Toni and the rest of the team – Xtra special thanks to my CL fam for holdin’ me down in 2008.

Then it was off to LA for the AMA’s, which was so much fun and star studded! Bitter sweet, as this is the last award show of 2008 but getting Rihanna ready was pretty exciting! I love how we did a flirty fun look for the red carpet and then flipped it to her edgy style for the performance. Props to her stylist, Mariel Haenn. Who designed that sick bustier!- what’s good!

♫ NEW MUSIC: CHRISETTE MICHELE – “EPIPHANY”

chrisette.jpg

Check out brand new music from Chrisette Michele. The new song is called “Epiphany” and will serve as a the first single from her currently untitled second album. Although much information isn’t known about the project, it’s supposed to drop on March 31st, and sources close to the singer have said that she’s worked with Ne-Yo and created some sounds a lot different from the ones that were on her debut, 2007′s I Am, which was certified gold and earned her a Grammy nomination.

I’m interested to see what Chrisette comes up with, she has a very unique and distinctive voice. I think with the right producers, she could really showcase her pipes in a really nice light.

♫ THE NEW MUSIC REVIEW ♫

♫ Keri Hilson feat. T.I. – Turnin’ Me On (Remix) (full) – listen / Ready to to Fall (full) – listen
Check out these two new tracks from Keri Hilson, the first being a remix to “Turnin’ Me On,” which has been being remixed by everybody! I actually like the T.I. remix of it. It’s good to hear Atlanta representing on tracks like this. I think this is actually remix #4 of the track, and it seems like most version of it are getting plenty of spins. The second track is “Ready to Fall,” featuring Ne-Yo. It appears on the Tapemasters Inc. & The Untouchables – The Future of R&B, Vol. 23 mixtape. I didn’t know that Keri had ever worked with Ne-Yo , aside from her appearance in the video for his second single, “Miss Independent.”

♫ The Dream feat. Jamie Foxx – Rockin’ That Shit (Remix) (full) – listen
The Dream offers up a remix of his second single, “Rockin’ That Shit,” featuring Jamie Foxx. The two have been working very closely together as of late. The Dream has a couple of cuts on Jamie’s latest album, Intuition. Although this is just a mixtape track, The Dream is set to shoot a video for the original song in Los Angeles this week. It seems like The Dream’s album, Love vs. Money is shaping up to be a pretty good project, this song has been getting a lot of radio love. The new album is slated to release March 3rd.

NEWS: DRUNKEN NEGRO FACE COOKIES / NEW DEVELOPMENTS IN OSCAR GRANT CASE / HOMELESS VETS HONORED WITH FUNERALS

A New York City bakery has caused quite a bit of controversy as it capitalizes on President Barack Obama’s inauguration.

The Lafayette French Pastry Bakery in Greenwich Village is selling ‘Drunken Negro Face’ cookies — chocolate covered biscuits with large red eyes, nose and lips.

The bakery owner, Ted Kefalinos, claims it’s “just a fun face”. But news reports say he’s used the “N word” when talking about the cookies and made vague hints of assassination.

He reportedly told several patrons: “They’re in honor of our new president. He’s following in the same path of Abraham Lincoln. He will get what’s coming to him.”
