Check out the official inauguration poster from the Barack Obama Inaugural Committee commemorating January 20. Designed by famed street artist Shepard Fairey, the print was created especially for the 2009 inauguration.

It is now available for sale as an Inaugural Collectible. The limited edition poster can be yours for $500.

OBAMA MEETS WITH OTHER PRESIDENTS

On Wednesday, President-elect Barack Obama met with President George W. Bush, former Presidents Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.

All the gentlemen here understand both the pressures and possibilities of this office. For me to have the opportunity to get advice, good counsel and fellowship with these individuals is extraordinary,” Obama said.

Bush added:

One message that I have and I think we all share is that we want you to succeed, whether we’re Democrat or Republican we care deeply about this country. All of us who have served in this office understand that the office itself transcends the individual.

BOLDEN IN AS NASA HEAD

Former NASA astronaut and Marine Corps officer Charles Bolden is among the top candidates to head the space agency under President-elect Barack Obama.

If chosen, Bolden, 62, would be the first black person to serve as NASA administrator.

Bolden flew into space four times, piloting two shuttle missions and commanding two more between 1980 and 1994. He left the agency to return to the military, having previously served in Vietnam and as a naval test pilot, and rose to the rank of major general in the U.S. Marine Corps before retiring in 2003.

In 2002, Bolden was nominated to serve as NASA’s deputy administrator, but the White House withdrew his name after, the Houston Chronicle reports, “the Pentagon objected to civilian agencies drafting high-ranking officers during wartime”. At the time, the U.S. was at war in Afghanistan.

RICHARDSON OUT

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson announced earlier this week that he is withdrawing himself as President-elect Barack Obama’s nominee for secretary of Commerce following a federal grand jury investigation in his home state.

I have concluded that the ongoing investigation also would have forced an untenable delay in the confirmation process,” Richardson said in an e-mailed statement issued by the transition.

The grand jury has been investigating “pay-to-play” allegations concerning a New Mexico state contract award to a California firm which has contributed to three political committees formed by Richardson. Although Richardson thinks the grand jury will turn out in his favor, “There are too many unanswered questions and he doesn’t want to distract attention from the administration,” a source close to him said.

Obama accepted the withdrawal with regret, saying in an accompanying statement that he looks forward to Richardson’s “future service to our country and in my administration.”

Richardson, who had sought the Democratic presidential nomination himself, was the highest-ranking Hispanic in the prospective Obama administration.

I am soooo excited about Bolden! I work for NASA - JPL and it would be fantastic to have him. Additionally, the current Administrator Griffin is a mess.

Concrete Loop we need to start some change by posting ideas of how we can serve our community. Any thoughts. I would love for people coming to the city for inauguration to donate 5 to 10 dollars what a difference it would make.

The lunch is the smartest thing he has done since being elected. No matter what you think of the Bushes, along with the Carter, they are the only living presidents that have had success in the Mideast and latin American. ( Clinton attacked Iraq but it didnt go so well, people tend to forget about that) Not to mendtion that the Bushes and Carter have a understanding of milltary action by serving the country. And even if you deny the fact that Obama really has no idea about foregin policy. You cant deny he never sreved. He’s doing what Clinton Should have done. He’s trying to get in front of the GAZA. thing and if he’s smart and learn from the mistakes of Clinton and the Afgan issues with Bin Ladien and Russia he get behind Israel and put Hamas in there place.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson no surpise there. Saw that coming . People really need to listen to what people say in relationship to what they do.

Judah, Obama just appointed another black man. What you got to say about that? Never mind, don’t answer that. I’ve got no time for bullshit!

It looks weird, to me, seeing all of them together. And just to think Obama took on George Bush Jr and Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary. Jimmy Carter was the only one who really had his back. But I’m convinced they like each other. It’s politics, they have to play against each other sometimes.

Don’t really like the poster too much either. So I’m drawing my own portrait. Go ahead and laugh! I’m quite the artist.
