I am tired of black folks getting caught up in political corruption. When they get in office they need to be trying to set examples and support the legacy of those who paved the way so they could take those seats. This shit is getting old!!! Quick as hell.

I’ve read about The Sheila Dixon in the Wall Street Journal, her story sounds very unfortunate. It would be a damn shame if the baltimore mayor gets charged over some “holiday gift cards.” You always have to watch your every step when you’re in a high profile position…especially in politics.

It looks like their trying to find a reason to bring a sister down just when she was making progress, bringing Baltimore out of the gutter. This is an expert from WSJ:

“The indictment comes just as the city is witnessing a tenuous turnaround. Baltimore’s murder rate fell 17% in 2008 from the year before. Many credit Ms. Dixon, who brought in a new police commissioner and directed the force to shift focus to the most-violent repeat offenders and away from petty crimes.

The city recently registered a small population increase for the first time in four decades, and its middle schools reported improved test scores last year.”

As a Baltimore resident,I am really disappointed in MAyor Dixon,yet im not surprised.

This is why I laugh at the black people who think that Obama is going to change things or that he is somehow on the up and up. To be a politician, you must be a liar and a thief. The higher on the political totem pole you ascend, the better a liar and a thief you are. There’s nothing new or even wrong about Blago selling the Senate seat. From the time of ancient Greece and Rome; all political seats are bought, especially Senate seats, because the “vote” (opinion) of the average “citizen” (peon) doesn’t count (Ecclesiastes 10:19). If the opinion of the masses was relevant, why did the mass media feel the need to contantly report how much money Obama’s campaign generated? It was an obvious subliminal message. Blago just happened to get caught on tape talking reckless and now he must be hung out to dry by his compatriots, so that the facade of democracy can be perpetuated over the masses. There is not one good, black politician. Not ONE. If there was a black politician that actually wanted to change things, they would die in a “car accident”, “plane crash”, be forced out of office, or what have you. These black devils just snort coke, and have bisexual toga party orgies with their white masters behind closed doors. Those are the perks of governmental office.

First off too me, mostly all politicians(which are human beings) are corrupted and crooked, 2nd nobody is perfect and Blks are not the only ones in office that get caught up in some drama or something shady. The charges against Ms. Dixon are just that: CHARGES. They have to prove that she did what they allege. As a recent transplant from Baltimore, I can say that the city never did better than when she took office, and the ONLY reason these petty charges are surfacing is cause she’s a Black woman, doing what ALLLLLLL those old White men couldn’t/wouldn’t do when they were in office. I won’t believe any of it till it’s proven.

I agree with #1…all these political scandals that are unfolding one by one is sickening!!! On a lighter note, in the midst of all this corruption in politics I’m proud to say that our future President is a man of integrity. I know that the economy is in bad shape and that Obama has a tough job ahead of him but I do believe he, and his team can take this country to new heights. As he already stated, a miracle is not going to happen over night, but we all must be willing to put forth the effort and strive to bring this country back to the top, where we belong!!!

Hey Judah, I respect you, because you write your opinion and facts with bible verses as references. I have not seen to many that represent in that way. I also enjoy you because you are convicted about your beliefs and you don’t let the women on here apply pressure or lean on you in any particular way (I am a black woman as well). However, I have looked at Ecclesiastes 10:19 and some of its surrounding verses. I humbly ask, what does it have to do with your statement?

It’s amazing how people’s opinions are so DIFFERENT! I’m just reading these comments and I’m like where do people get their logic from? These are truly the last days. This facade of “justice” that is being strewn across media outlets is absolutely laughable. So America is NOW catching on to the fact that these “elected” officals are corrupt! and NOW we want to act as if democracy is what we stand for by “calling out” corrupt officials. Hm where was this “calling out” when Bush and his administration was is office huh?

Beware people, this is just all a ploy to make you all think that you have your beloved “America” back in your hands. This is all part of a greater plan. They are simply scapegoating a few politicians here and there to keep you from the truth.

At one point, I too felt that perhaps Obama could be that change but I quickly realized that he is just an extension of the greater plan to decitfully subdue the American people’s anger. After seeing how he said he had no knowledge about National American Union (NAU) on TV. For a future national leader or any politician for that matter to not have any knowledge of this is shocking. Which convinces me that Obama is either 1) Liar, 2) Dim, 3) Great actor with a hidden agenda.

After watching Lou Dobbs story on CNN about Obama’s knowledge about the NAU I was able to eliminate choice 2 but know look what I’m left with…

Most politicians are given this false sense of power. Power yields greed and corruption. Whether you’re black or white doesn’t matter. Politicians get sucked into the “system” which is bulit on lies, immorality, lip service to the public and sycophancy to the higher offices.

Obama is untested, but as far as past history goes, I don’t remember a single 100% honest, transparent politician who made it high in US politics.

This is sad and she is an embarrassment to the black race.

I use to work for both Democrats and Republicans and for people to come on this site and unfairly clump all politicians into one basket is outrageous. The honest politicians who really are making a difference do not get ratings therefore they are not covered. For example, a new GOP hopeful named Schock is only 27 years old and has done alot of good for communities in Illinois. Instead, who are you hearing mostly about…Gov. Blago because drama sells. Let Schock get into trouble with a prostitute or is accused of stealing money, and I guarantee that you will hear about him.

The change that Obama was talking about comes over time, it does not come overnight. The American people continually re-elected the same losers therefore its going to take years to slow down corruption in Washington. As far as the black community goes, we need to stop asking ourselves what has a politician done for us, we need to ask what are we willing to do for ourselves to bring about change. Obama cannot do this thing alone.

The book of Ecclesiastes is written verse by verse, independent of each other. Some of the verses have a continuation of thought into the next verse or from the previous, but many do not. It was just Solomon giving his thoughts on the dynamics of life and what the motivations of man are. Money answers all things as in, it is the key mover of man in his carnal mind. This is why it links up with Blagojevich auctioning off the Senate seat to the highest bidder and Obama’s campaign generating the highest funds. The government and how it is run has nothing to do with the will of the people. It is the money, and who can generate it. That is why money answers all things. Even today, there is a saying, “Money talks”.

Also, Dixon does not represent me as a black person. She represents a culture of corruption that has been allowed to flourish by the people. See, when I see corrupt politicians I don’t just blame the politicians, I blame the people who continue to elect them without question. Trust me, this isn’t the first time Dixon has displayed questionable behavior, this is just one of the few times she has been called on it.

I am also from Baltimore and I have to tell you the reason why we are so drug ridden is that politicians and drug dealers are very much alike. And in our city the two lines blur so much. Our politicians have been paid off by drug dealers for years. So if you break down the mentality of a dealer and that of a politician they are very much the same.

And I just had this discussion, that in fact I agree that all politicians are the same black, white, or Hispanic.

When Barack Obama was elected it was very inspiring to the best human part of us who want to believe that things will change. But I implore people to take it for face value and don’t become disillusioned to the fact that Obama may be just another president with his own agenda.

But also Judah, don’t persecute him either. Because we don’t know his true person so we go on hope and faith and that all we have. But we also must deal in truth and reality.

I have my opinions of George Bush and many events in his term that if white people new they would be devastated because they don’t deal in truth. But we must hold that same ideal to ourselves.

i remember back in the 70’s when they had a jobs program /incentive to get employers to hire blacks with a tax break or tax credit was nothing more than a bait and switch. i was hired under a similar program and it was just a matter of time after they got the tax break i was out the door thur hassrassment ,tourment and down right bigotry . the man was mad cause one they had to include black males and them jobs were meant for their family ,friends and relatives. and they did all in their power to run us away. this relates to the story of struggles in steel the hbo docu on how the black male was treated in the 70’s. i was a product of that painful period in time. the scars are permenent. but now i look and see progress some 50 million strong see it to, the baton must be passed i am so caught up in the past and what it seems like the more things change the more they stay the same i passed that baton that night in grant park to a young white child who we embraced in joyous celebration and when we let go he seemed stunned cause he seen an ol man tears running down his face as i turned and walked away. he didn’t understand but i did that night nov 4 i had just passed the baton…. we are bigger than the axis of racism and bigotry and fear mongering were a winner now go ahead obama w/ your bad self.

Man, Obama is already hard at work, trying to be transparent with his plans and his policies. I do not remember an incoming president giving weekly addresses. He has already done more in a matter of months, what George Bush did in 8 years. However, that is nothing new, in America; the Black man has to work twice as hard to be considered half as good as his white counterparts.

If you people believe politics is sport that is played fair, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you. Everybody in this game of politics plays flagrant; it is only illegal if and when you get caught. “Pay to play” is as American as apple pie. Why do you think a politician will spend millions of dollars on a campaign to get a job that will only pay him/her hundreds of thousands? Power. Putting yourself in the position to get the “gifts.”People and organizations have to pay these politicians so that the incumbent will look out for their interest. A person will donate 10 thousand dollars to a campaign so that “little Billy” will get an internship in the governor’s office. Or the construction company will give money to a campaign in order to get the contract to fix the roads. The construction company that’s working on I95 must have donated a decent guap, because they’ve been fixing that f*ckin’ highway for years..lol. It is all about you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours type of thing.

Now, my detractors may say, “Then Dukesman, if you know these things, why are you such a staunch supporter of Barack? He is a politician, hence guilty of the same crimes.” That is a fair question..lol. Nevertheless, I believe Obama is cut from a different cloth. Yes, he might have turned his head whenever he saw unscrupulous acts being carried out and he might have dabbled with some of these corrupt politicians. I believe he had to, in order to move up in the position to change it. Whoa, it seems like politcians are getting caught left and right these days. Serves them right for abusing their positions. What happened to Mayor Sheila Dixon reminds me of what just happened in my home town. The mayor here was just indicted for bribery. They allegedly have tons of evidence that he has been accepting bribes and purchasing expensive gifts with the taxpayers dollars ever since 2002. I personally wasn’t surprised that he had done shady deals, there was always a supsicion and word of mouth that he had done it for years but was never caught and no proof had came out yet. I think the authorities probably knew from the time he started doing it, they was just waiting for him to keep setting himself up so deep so that they could build a strong case against him and guarantee jail time, most likely the same thing happened with Sheila Dixon. What’s done in the dark will eventually come to light.

These charges are frivilous and made to sound all evil and sinister like she was a plotting thief or something. Bogus! and I bet they want to lock her up for 10 to 15 years for Walmart cards and you got drunk drivers like Lindsey and Paris that just get a slap on the wrist. She should just be made to pay back the crap and do community service but no time. Always trying to put people in jail over the least offense without any mercy. Some of these sentences are evil and don’t fit the crime.We have to watch these laws and protest them because for every new law, we are more likely to get the maximum sentence or close to it. They should go after the people that gave the cards also as if they were trying to bribe her to give them contracts/unfair advantage instead of just targeting her for taking the bait. Call out all the wrong not just one part of it.

So Sheila Dixon took some “gifts” and didnt properly disclose them. What are these gifts? Is it a car, a house, a trip, a plane? She supposedly misused some holiday gift cards to buy items for her self and staff.. R U kidding me…. ** People has always questioned her credibility. She has always been associated will controversy and accused of shady dealings.

** Although these charges are not proven, the fact that gift cards for needy families were used for luxuries for her fam and staff will be forever linked to her to me and many others. You best believe I wont vote for her to get a job at Walmart. Baltimore murder count seem to be on average 1 body per day and the news already said that body count is way higher than this time last year under her admin. Those “good” numbers sound fishy to me. Because of her removing overtime for the police to police the streets because of budget cuts (doesnt make sense), Dont worry Baltimore will get its reputation back.

Bob, I am so tired of white folk (other races period) trying to preach to us about raising our children. I work at an “integrated” school, and trust me, the statistics do not even begin to reflect the problems of the white community because many of the statisticians want to reflect the dominant cultures false belief of superiority (excessive drug use, depression, sexual perversions, suicide, etc.). How can 13% of the population make up the majority of all the nations problems? Either someone cannot do math, or someone is simply lying. If whites make up the majority of the population, which they do, then it stands to reason that they make up the majority of criminals, STDS, abortions, etc. Blacks need to stop digesting false statistics that paint us as “evil” and consider the sources, people like Bob.

Second, blacks are one of the few groups in the US who understand hard work. We have to jump higher with qualifications in order to be taken seriously for the same job, and that’s racism. For example, Christ Rock’s joke about the C student is the perfect example. A white C student can be president, the black C student cannot even be a manager at McDonalds. I have 2 master’s degrees at a job where my white co-workers barely have undergraduate degrees now that’s racism, me just having to jump higher just because I’m present as a black woman.

I starting to believe that it would physically hurt you to ask a question, so you just make assumptions. That’s a sign of a proud individual. There is only one truth. I have found the truth. It’s just not the truth to you… yet. This is why people are so drawn to my comments, because the truth stirs up emotions in people that they cannot contain, whether those emotions be admiration, hate, indignance, jealousy, whatever. The term “monkey” (as is very applicable to “Why”) is used in symbology to represent a mental midget and a mimic, i.e. “monkey see, monkey do”. For example; if you ever pass by Yale University you’ll see on the archways of certain campuses, animal sculptures that were put there to subliminally represent different levels of learning. The monkey and the parrot are sculpted adjacent to each other on one of the archways because they both represent the weakest, lowest level of learning, a human being that can only regurgitate what they were taught. That is where most blacks are at, which is why they extol “education”, particularly the sisters. Another sculpture there is of the toad, which represents a being that can only learn to a certain level and refuses to go beyond that, even when forced. The toad is reknowned in nature for it’s stubborness. Then you have the serpent, or dragon scuplture, which represents infinite knowledge and wisdom amongst all cultures. This is why the scriptures speak of the “serpent” of Genesis that beguiled Eve, or the “Great Red Dragon” of Revelation which manipulates the world with his doctrines until the return of Christ. My point being that black people need to raise their mental acuity. That creature, “Why”, is a mental monkey.

As far as the sisters are concerned, I can only point out the obvious. I don’t know any real black male, or black female for that matter, that doesn’t see the same thing that I see for the most part. Let it be known, the issue is with the black man. He is the crux, because once he gets a mental backbone, all these other things will fall into place. As a Baltimore resident and a political science major, i’m not surprised that sheila Dixon has been indicted. Baltimore politicians have always been corrupt and are only involved in Baltimore City’s local government system just to make a name for them self and make money. it never seems to fail. What do I do for a living? I live for a living. Where was I educated? I’m still being educated and will continue to be for as long as I live. I don’t mock people that don’t know. It’s not just gift cards, Sheila Dixon has been under fire since she was Council President under (slick willy) Mayor now govenor Martin O’Malley…… first it was about her giving city contracts to a company that her sister works for….. Than it was about her voting on giving a particular company not only city contracts (projects) but giving same said company certain tax breaks. Oh did I mention that the company was owned and run by her boyfriend at the time…….. That same dude is why she got caught up this time, she is said to have accepted gifts (fur coats and expensive trips from him) while still voting on contracts that his company was bidding on for the city……. Yes the murder rate has been said to be at an low, 17 % for last year but so far this year, 12 days in we are already at 13 bodies. Plus it has always been rumored that the city aint counting all the bodies, they fudging the numbers……

Knowledge is not “relative”, it is either understood and applied or it is not (hence your jibe concerning “useless information”, lol). Knowledge will still be there and exist whether someone chooses to accept it or not. Our position or our standing in this life is what is “relative”. When you say “consciousness/awareness” is necessary to live in one’s surroundings, are you referring to blending in to one’s surroundings or accepting the status quo for the sake of appearing “sane” or “acceptable”? The most conscious people are the ones who stand out and rebel in an unjust society, not blend in (particularly in a society contrary to their existence). I don’t want to assume that I know what you’re saying, so please explain. I’d hate to think that you are trying to propagate the weak mob mentality that entails that the majority are the sane ones because they make up the majority.

Question, is the information “useless” because you didn’t know it before I told you, or because you don’t believe it can be applied to YOUR life? I posted a comment this morning (before work - yes I do have a job) asking Judah what was his/her sex(male or female) and what was his or her race. I still haven’t received a response. Its obvious that despite so much time on this site, most posters are still unable to decipher whether Judah is male or female.
For someone who has basically hi-jacked this website, I believe he/her owes us a little bit more information about himself/herself. Just who is this person who constantly refers to black people as n*gers , monkeys, whores etc.

First, the murder rate, increase scores in the school system, and she has also dealt with alot of public health issues.

The state prosecuter that has brought about this investigation was part of former Gov. Ehrlich(Republican). He was beat out in a election by the current Gov. O’Malley which was the Mayor of Baltimore at the time and Dixon was the City Council President. O’Malley and Dixon are close counterparts. This is a botched investigation, and also biased, thus when the charges are presented to the jury this will be done and over. Dixon stated in her statement that “she will weather the storm and will be cleared off the erroneous charges.
