Keri Hilson performs at the Lexus Listening Lounge in Washington, DC. Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, Tony Rich, was also in attendance.
The event honored Hilson for her achievements in music and noted her embodiment of the pursuit of perfection. She performed songs from her highly anticipated debut album, In a Perfect World, now scheduled for a February release.

I disagree with you on the whole. I highly garuntee that you are a jealous fan/stan of a low-key female artist out today. You know how I know? Because you are drawing your own conclusions about peoples mind and what we all “think” about Beyonce. And in fact, you clearly don’t have a damn clue as to what you’re talking about.
You act as though EVERYONE on this blog, or blogs all around, adore Beyonce. Do you actually know HOW many sites discredit this woman? Beyonce is like the #1 hated on female artist in the game, and you talk like ALL OF US only recognize that she works hard. Beyonce is a hardworker, so are many other artists out there. She’s a beautiful woman, but I can’t seem to get into her music. It’s the same ole same ole recycled mess that I’m tired of listening to. Her high tempo music is ordinary at best. She has a great voice, and maybe she will find her niche with ballads, but I am not impressed by what I have heard so far. If her singing career has any longevity, hopefully she can hook up with a producer who can put the beats in the background and her voice front and center.
I may be the only one but this chick does nothing for me. I haven’t heard a single that i like, i do hope her cd does well. However,i am really not impressed with her as a whole package. It’s 2009 and it’s a recession these people need to remember that, you need to work 10 times harder then before if you want broke ass people (such as myself) to buy your cds. Cuz that $10-$15 your cd will cost, i’d rather buy milk and eggs for my family. Just saying..she needs to step her game “WAY UP”

You kind of made my point. Ne-Yo isn’t as big as he should be and he talks about that very fact all the time. No, knowing that she doesn’t write the songs isn’t going to stop her success. It’s just that fact that people think it’s okay for her to do that but if it were another artist, they would be ripping them to shreds. But it’s all good. Everybody has their time.

I disagree Beyonce isn’t the most hated, she is the most recognized woman that brings hypersensitivity amongst people such as yourself. I’m not a fan but I don’t hate on Beyonce for her accomplishments. I think that her songwriting is debatable. The reason why people debate that is that people become amnesia into why people liked Beyonce in the first place. One of the main reasons for her success is that people thought that she wrote her own songs and produced. Now today Beyonce has more incidents that questions her song writing. That doesn’t mean they are hating that just means that they are skeptical. Anyone would. Just think about it. How can the first African-American woman to ever receive an ASCAP award receive backlash on songwriting of today? People felt like they have been lied too. Nothing to get mad about. Beyonce is not exempt from criticism. She does not have the most haters. Look at the post. Someone mentions the girl name and look at how many people came out and posted on her and defended her lol. Look at the negative post on Keri and look at the little amount of people that are defending her. She has very little. So Beyonce has more fans than haters. I’ve been on concreteloop long enough to know. I still got love for Beyonce even though I’m not a fan but got love for all my sistas making it happen in this industry.

I like Jazz, Duffy, Adele Beyonce (again), Rihanna, Alicia, Mary, Mariah and Floetry n JHud I can jam to all of those cd’s depending on the mood i’m in. Keri just hasn’t come out with anything that makes we want to be like yeah she’s the bomb.

The music industry SUCKS right now. Either they sing but cant dance, or dance but cant sing. All the heavy hitters are all light-skinned – Britney, Alicia, Rhianna, Hannah Montana, etc. Keri seems like a nice girl, but right now she seems ordinary. She’s pretty but her music is ok. I’m older than these girls and want to show them what to do to get some fresh air back in this industry. I’m putting it out on youtube.

(I’m sure each of us has SOMEONE in mind.. it ain’t hard to find a crappy ‘artist’ out there) Some of these folks should NOT have the gift of even callin themselves an Artist.. i mean damn.. what ART did they make?
