OH MY GOD… HOW SAD. MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO BOTH DRE AND JOHN.

In 2009, can we please STOP PLAYING and show our kids how drug abuse leads to sadness, demise and death!!! We are losing too many of OUR children (black, white and all in between) to drugs and alcohol. Let’s get a hold of them and get them involved in positive activities and focused on school and going to college. So much so, they won’t have time to think about ruining their lives by abusing drugs. I know we can’t be with our kids all the time, but when u love yourself and know that other people love you and you believe your life has purpose you just might think about your actions before you do something crazy. This is sad news. Dr. Dre’s son his situation could have totally been avoided. I’m sorry to hear that he lost a son so young to something as silly as drugs. I blame rap for making sippin cough syrup a popular thing to do, its basically legalized meth. I know it said heroine and morphine but those are trace elements in that syrup sh*t! Whatever it was R.I.P young homie.

I have a 16 year old son and I have had several conversations with him about sex and drugs already. However, DEATH is a FINAL thing. There’s no room to discuss the coulda, shoulda, woulda’s now. My heart goes out to the parents, Dr Dre and mom. No parent should have to bury their own child. My mom has done it and I can’t imagine because it hasn’t happened to me.

So, some of you all if you don’t have your own children, GO SIT THE HELL DOWN!

WEED is not a drug. that is what the system tells the world because of the way most ppl use it as if it WERE A DRUG or when they potent it to make it stronger. Thats like saying God created drugs. WEED is simply a plant that can be used for an abundance of things especially healing, but most ppl choose to smoke it(and chemicalize it when it already has a natural chemical). And anything to me abused can hurt or kill you. Even though weed cannot kill you physically, if abused it can most certainly be damaging.

The incident with JT hits home because my youngest daughter was born with Sturge Weber syndrome in which causes seizures and she is 6 months and spent a total of 3 of those months in the newborn intensive care unit at the childrens hospital. Seizures are scary and many people just don’t know how serious they are. I hold my child tight everytime I get her. This syndrome is given to every 1 out of 1,000,000 infants are born with that.

My prayers are with both families because we take time to break the chains of our pasts if we were raised without fathers or mothers and do not do the same to our kids.

Time is too short and this shows that our kids our the future for us. We always want our kids to bury us not us to bury them. Anyone who reads this just keep on praying and keep your head up. Peace

wow heroin and morphine. that is a physical addiction. you cannot just kick that kind of addiction without help. it only takes 3 times to get addicted. meaning doing this drug 3 days in a row is enough to have you have sick as a dog without it on the fourth day. one of my many friends was addicted to it and she gave me the rundown. she was young as hell when she started also. she was on that stuff when we were like 18 or 19 but i never knew. even when i saw her nodding i still did not know until someone confirmed it for me.this is so sad. as for john, his son’s death is the topic on other sites and what they are saying is that thier religion is to blame. scientology. i don’t know i was not there. they say john was in denial that his child was autistic and some autistic children are pron to seizures.

Jealousy, envy, lying, disrespect, greed, and judging others are all issues that you need to do some soul searching on. You shouldn’t blog until you can look at yourself in the mirror and say “thank you God for what you’ve done and what you’re gonna do in my life.” Otherwise, you have a long lonely road ahead of you. Work on yourself and then work on relationships with others. Get off of your pity pot and start looking for your place in life. You may have lots of knowledge…but you lack wisdom.

You’re condition is in the heart! Love, honor, respect, wisdom, longsuffering, and faith are qualities that African Americans thrive on. And, we know instantly when someone is void of these qualities. Unlike your 4.0 achievements, these qualities cannot be learned like Biology or Chemistry. They are gifts from God given freely to those who ask for them.

to comment on the other things..I have a sister that has an addiction and I do all I can to get her treatment and I do not enable her like others in my family do. She is 26 and a mother and if I could pick her up myself and drag her to rehab I WOULD..RIGHT NOW. been there, done that doesnt work…maybe what meme and others are trying to say is that though tragic…it could have and should have been prevented with his young age and resources and that I agree with. Maybe with this lesson Dre could give more time and money to help addicts and prevent this from happening again.

But, the drug industry is alive and well…even in a recession. Rite Aids, WalGreens and Longs are springing up everyday. During a depression, people turn to drugs and drinks. Rappers like Dre depend on the drug and drink image to shop their goods.

So, if you want to stop this debate, then stop worrying about Dre’s money and show some remorse for his loss. Money and resources couldn’t save Elvis, Janis or Anna Nicole.

Great post! When you have the type of historical perspective that you described, it’s clear to see through all the arrogance and bull$#!T. It’s the truth that sets up free, not the things that MEME and MIMI have been watching on MTV and SNL. Chocolate News is much different from CNN and MSNBC.

The reason I “steryotyped” and I now “apologize” to Africans is bacause, I know many of them who make it to America, have that same old long money! With their countrymen suffering back home, they are now coming to America and going to Europe trying to blend in the universities like everyone else struggling to make it. But, the truth is, they have long money from the same slave trade system enjoyed by the Euro-Americans and their great-great ancestors.

Most Africans in America are well-connected. These are not the everyday, garden variety Africans you’ll see if you visit the motherland. Don’t get me wrong, I am very happy for their migration and opportunity. I just don’t like it when they boast about their GPAs and “no-help” stans.

MEME wouldn’t go into her heritage, but she tipped her hand when she said that she had “no help, no parents, and no scholarship.” If anyone can make it under those condition…and not share how they’re doing it, I have a big problem with them. Telling the truth means…telling the whole truth. Doesn’t it takes over $250,000 to earn a Doctorate? Eight or nine years of college @ $30,000/year!
