  14. MrsMantha

I wish it didn’t have soo much cussing in it, but I like the message he’s trying to give out.

  15. Wanda

This is one of my favorite songs, Jeezy is such a great artist. Congrats to my new Black President Barack Obama..Yes Sirrrrrrrr

  16. SNEAKER SHORTY

@ 12 BEFORE YOU ASSUME WHAT SOMEONE IS OR ISN’T DOING IN THE COMMUNITY, PLEASE LOOK IT UP FIRST.

  17. Wanda

Do you guys know that Jeezy was one of th efirst people to call it, he’s was saying Obama was gonna win since the begining of the year last year..

  18. BK

Jeezy was very bold to record this song before the election was over, but you know what they say, all things work together for the greater good.

I wasn’t really feeling Jeezy when he first came out with all the Snowman antics and whatnot, but I do think he’s come a long way.

I wish the video had included more footage of Obama and all the supporters who worked so hard for him. I love Nas!

  19. UM...I GUESS

#12…amen! though i like the overall message behind the song, it is still very gimmicky. NAS kills though!

  25. “obama for mankind!we ready for damn change,so ya’ll let the MAN SHINE!”
i really like this song and video…

i knew somebody would be negative,if you already had your thoughts on this, why watch it?people just love freakin attention i tell ya!rappers brag about their material things,GET OVER IT!its been like that for years, stop acting like jeezy is the first to do it…..

  26. Junk

I am cautiously optimistic about Obama’s presidency, but I sort of think that all of this media hype is trivializing it. Obama may be the president-elect, but we can’t forget that half of the country did not vote for him and a portion of that half is extremely resistant to his leadership. The Secret Service has never been so strong before and this man is in more danger than any prez before him. I think releasing pompous, braggadocious songs does not really serve his mission and may make him more of a target to the people that don’t want him there anyway. I think we should just be cool, no bragging, just be cool. Let the man do his job. Also, I think people have an unreal expectation of what he can do and are expecting a miracle; like he can personally lift up the ghetto. C’mon, many of these systems have been in place for decades and what ails our communities in particular and the country in it’s entirely will not be cured in a few months or in a four-year term. With all this attention, I get the feeling that this is the hailing right before the nailing. Expectations are too high and we need to be realistic or we’re going to be crucifying Obama in no time.

  27. dee

I love it Nas killed his verse.

  28. Lil_Mama

OMG…why this video almost made me cry!!

    I still cant believe it!

I cant WAIT for Tuesday. Thsese white folks @ my job are going to be soo mad when I were my Barack T-shirt!!

  29. TRILLA

THIS SONG IS GONNA BLOW UP!
    I CAN FEEL IT.

  30. HappilyEngaged

#27, Junk, I have to agree with most of the things you said. There are alot of people out there thats is watching his every move and as soon as he makes the SMALLEST mistake, the media will blow it way out of porportion. I don’t believe he’s going to do miracles, and the ghetto will still be the ghetto. Its up to the people to use him as an example and do something better with your life.

Overall though, I am glad to see such an intelligent black man in the highest office in America. I am very proud. And it was so nice to see all of the elderly people witness a part of history like this.

I don’t like the Jeezy album, but I do like this song and video.

2009 STARTING OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT!!!!!

  31. lauren

#12, please shut up. Jeezy is known to do MUCH in his community. It’s nothing wrong with a celebratory song. I loved this song on his cd before Obama was even elected. It was rightfully so he released a video now. This is an anthem & I love it!

You get off CL & go do something meaningful for your community!

  32. NASILOVEYOU

    Nas.
    I love you.

  33. Toons

Im so dissapointed in this song. I have respect for Nas but this song was ignorant. Why do black people always have to throw in their material possessions in order to get a point across? Its as if black people can’t comprehend anything unless its material, flashy and expensive. So what you have a blue lambo, green money and some rims…how ignorant and trivial.

Lust and greed will be the ultimate downfall of man.

  34. The Real Bubbles

Nas and Young J have some of that magic juice for sure. But Biggie was it for me. NBIG drank deep from the well. Anybody see Notorious yet? Opening this weekend. You know I’m going and bringing the crew. It will be fierce, y’all.

  35. POWER!

i just seen this clip 25 times. MY PRESIDENT IS BLACK.
    It’s a good feeling man!

  36. adivaiam

LOL…oh please again. tell me to shut up all day long (not that I will) but you are idiots. WTF is he doing for you? You like to watch him hold his d* and talk about his blue lab while you’ ride the damn bus. All that thuggish mess. Get of his jock and do something positive for yourself and your community. No, I don’t like the song. Nor am I aware of the great things he does for the community because it’s over shadowed about the other bs I hear. Like the next female he’s cheating on and disrespecting. Give me a break…I don’t hero worship and if I did I’ll get a better role model.

  37. honesty4u

I like the video but I wish there was a radio friendly version of it for the kids. I also wish he would have left out what his car, rims and money look like but can’t really knock Jeezy, he stay helping his community. I see him doing more than any other rapper and he gets my respect all day, every day.

  38. Honest Critic

I absolutely loved the video, just to see all the people together and see all the types of people and races. It wasn’t just black people which destroys all the stupid rumors people still try to say to this day.

The song itself, the only part I liked was “my president is black” because there were a lot of trivial things that makes the song lose its depth. The rims, money, curses, and n***** words made me hate the chorus and part of the song. The song could have been better without all that stuff in it.

  39. mel

I loved this video brought tears to my eyes i wish Tupac was here and all the fallen soldiers in the video, even if Obama dont pull it off it show a subliminal message that if you put your mind to anything you can acheive it which cant be bad for our youths

  40. Kaila

yes..im glad somebody else said jeezy had the best rap album of 08. Weezy joint rocked 4awhile and so did t.i’s but the recession was the best hands down..Im still listenin to it..u didnt have to skip one song. He is my favorite rapper out right now!!!

  41. HB

@38 You earlier said Jeezy should get out and do something for the community, now you back tracking saying he does but its over shadowed by his females, what b/s so one day he feeding Africa the next hes dumped Keyshia cole, so freaking what, hows your personally life doing….Jeezy all day

  42. Tipi

This some ignorant shit right here. Why doesn’t Jeezy just go away? This does nothing to honor Obama and the song sucks donkey balls, anyway. I couldn’t even listen to the whole thing.

  43. honesty4u

@HB, that was not me that said he needed to get out there and do more for the community, that was #12. You might want to go back and re-read it. Thanks

  44. Jizzy

Soooooo f——n’ proud of Jeezy! Get it boy! And Nas-Always been da s–t! Love this guys!

  45. sowhat_12345678

Do you people even listen to the lyrics to the music:

My president is black, my Lambo’s blue
And I’ll be goddamned if my rims ain’t too
My momma ain’t at home, and daddy’s still in jail
Tryna make a plate, anybody seen the scale?
My president is black, my Lambo’s blue
And I’ll be goddamned if my rims ain’t too
My money’s light green and my Jordans light grey
And they love to see white, now how much you tryna pay?
    Let’s go!

Are you kidding? This chorus alone is a revelation of what should be expected at the end of Obama’s tenure as president.

  46. 09CHICK

THIS SOO BORING!! POST IS BORING!

  47. Queen Tiye

    I always loved this song

I wonder what Frat that was in the video? I saw a lil blue i was thinkin maybe Sigmas??

  48. HB

@46 or (45 on your pc). sorry, one of my previous messages says awaiting moderation so on my pc the post count has one extra on my screen as concreteloop haven’t ok’d the message yet but i can still see it if that makes sence.

  49. FLAWLESS &HEART;

    JANUARY 20TH, 2009…!!! A HISTORIC DAY..! :-D
i WISH MY GRANNY WAS HERE TO WITNESS THIS JOYOUS DAY… :-(

  50. JUDAH

    @So What

Thank you, lmao. This was a slave jingle if I’ve ever heard one. I love the motorcycle gang skinheads at the end of the video with the “My President is Black” T-Shirts on, smh. This whole Obama thing looks like one of the greatest hoaxes ever perpetrated.

  51. honesty4u

@ HB, I feel you….. Thanks for the correction.

  52. I MEAN CAN JUS AGREE TO DISAGREE

funny I never heard of this before til now and i was rockin to it, bout to be on my ipod. – thats wassup

My President Black, and am black too hahaha we laughing at you haters. lol

  53. ja

    @Junk

No one is going to kill Obama. People will let him fail on his on. I didnt vote for him but I do want him to do well because we dont need another Clinton. OBAMA please leave taxes alone. He is going to have to do a little more than take pictures, and requesting the 350 without accounting for the last was a big Mistake.

What in the hell dose rims have to to do with the president being black. This is more proof that nothing has really changed. Like I said I and my family have been fine the last eight years. What I think is funny is the fact that CA and Florida are two of the biggest tourist state with state taxes and barely have enough money to pay out tax returns and are begging for bailouts, mean while Texas is making up stuff to do with the surplus we have been carrying since 98. CA and Florida Obama, Texas McCain. Good thing we can vote for our own Local leaders. Rick Perry 2010

  54. Everyone knows this song was recorded WAAAY before the election. I’ve been jammin to this for a minute (ringtone and all).

And my babe Nas killed it as usual

  55. I’m losing respect for Nas rapidly.

Using the word “nigga” in a pro Obama song is against your best interests. Obama’s presidency represents unity, change and hope.

As sappy as will.i.am’s video/song for ‘yes we can’ I find that far more watchable than this mess.

  56. IT'S ALL MEANINGLESS

    Jeezy is that necca!

  57. A True Southern Belle

    That was really very inspirational!!
