WHAT THEY WORE: THE FIRST LADY EDITION (& THE OBAMA GIRLS)

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

After months and months of speculation, First Lady Michelle Obama stepped out looking gorgeous as expected on Inauguration Day.

During the ceremony and parade, Michelle wore a custom-made yellow sheath and matching coat by Cuban-American designer Isabel Toledo, accessorized with Jimmy Choo teal heels and J. Crew leather gloves.

As for the ten Inaugural Balls she is scheduled to attend, Mrs. Obama selected a beautiful silk chiffon Jason Wu one-shoulder ivory gown. See what the young Obama girls wore after the cut…

Malia and Sasha Obama stepped out Tuesday morning in these J. Crew Crewcuts wool coats, that are scheduled to be available in Fall 2009. The designers at J. Crew exclusively made these sketches for the girls.

MICHELLE WAS PERFECTION FOR BOTH EVENTS. SHE’S SO CLASSY AND STYLISH AND TAKES RISK WITH FASHION, I LOVE HER FOR THAT!! I’M NOT EVEN GONE GET ON THOSE GIRLS, I CRIED WHEN I SEEN THEM AS THEY LOOKED LIKE PURE CHILD PERFECTION IN THOSE COATS! THEY WEREN’T TOO GROWN AT ALL AND IF I EVER SAW AN ADULT IN EITHER OF THOSE COATS, I WOULD PROBABLY SAY, “THEY LOOK CHILDISH”, BUT THOSE GIRLS, WERE ON POINT! THE COLORS WERE PERFECT FOR BOTH OF THEM AND THAT SASHA IS A FIRECRACKER, I SEE THAT ALREADY! SHE RUNS THAT OBAMA HOUSEHOLD,(to an extent cuz u know Chelle don’t play)…lolol

Please go the AKA’s national website and stop reading stories off the internet anyone can post that are not checked for accuracy. Click on the listing below, directly from AKAs site. The honorary members are listed alphabetically…..No Michelle Obama!

The only truth is the offer was extended from AKA. Good move…but it didn’t come to fruition. A co-work or mine who is an AKA actually directed me to the national website and she would LOVE to claim Michelle as a SOROR i’m sure.

This must have been sheer joy for Jason Wu because Michelle is model material. Beautiful, tall and regal!

I thought that Michelle’s gold ensemble was absolutely gorgeous!!!!
Although I also liked the dress she wore to all of the balls, I do wish that
it had been a little more daring, but as first lady, I know that she has to be
careful. President Obama was extremely handsome, and the girls were
absolutely adoreable!!!!!! They are without a doubt, the most beautiful first
family that I have ever seen!!!! I am just overwhelmed with pride…..

As for that daytime look- she looked nice. I think she could have picked out a lot more flattering things that didn’t seem like a 90yr old woman would wear, but she still looked classy and fab.

The white gown was gorgeous.

The girls look cute!!! If J Crew makes a size 18 in kids, my adult self will rock that pink and orange coat. Bow and all.

Sorry but……Was disappointed in Michelle,s picks. Cld have gotten a better choice at the mall. She starting to drop off the fashion kick she was on to wearing whatever Did you see that tye dye dress she had on at church! What the world was that about? The yellow dress was too old fashioned and the different shades of green through me off, the whit dress was alright but something like what Beyonce had on wld have been a better look. Michelle, love ya boo, but I was disappointed.

Forgot to add…..Think most people are being polite in the media about the yellow. Agree it does look matronly-like something your grandmothr wld wear to your wedding. Liked the camel outfit she wore the other day better, leave the new comer fashion students alone. They are just mediocre. She may have wanted to not deflect attention from Barack, but this is history. Okay done.

The day outfit was horrible. If I were Michelle I’d hire a fashion consultant. Michelle’s black and tan outfit worn days prior would have been perfect, what was she thinking in picking this bedspread? The shoes were the wrong shade of green. As much as I like her It is obvious Michelle cannot tell what does not look good in her. Will somebody people tell her politely to hire someone? Her evening dress was beautiful but she should have made sure the hem was find for dancing since she fussed with it all evening. The girls, they are so adorable, polite and dressed cute! But mamma or grandma Robinson, somebody put too many colors that clash on Sasha. Red stockings? The coat should have been longer. Please don’t let whoever dressed her to dress her again. Orange, pink, red and fushia don’t mix well.

I like the fact that Michelle is more reserved. With that said, the off the shoulder was not for her. She looks uncomfortable; her shoulders are too wide for that dress and her posture left a lot to be desired. I still think she is a wonderful lady. I’m just critiquing the outfit.

I tell ya, some people can be so dayum ignorant. Michelle and her 2 gorgeous daughters looked fab in what they had on. I neva heard any of u complain about what Hillary or Laura Bush wore when they were in the white house. Fools always have to find sumthin to say about ur own. Malia and Sasha wore what 2 little girls should have worn to such an importan event. As a matter of fact the J. Crew site who made the coats went down online because of so many orders. Michelle is a lady first and foremost, before she was in the White House and after she leave the White House. Both of her outfits were stunning and classy. What the fugg some of u want her to have on? big azz gold earrings, gold chains and a dress so dayum tight that it looks whorish. How much class can some of you have anyway, guys wearing their pants sagging off their azzes and girls wearing so much dayum weave, eyelashes, fingernails, that u can’t even see the real them. I guess because Michelle is a natural classy beauty that she don’t fit the standard of ghetto azz dressing. What a beautiful brilliant classy African American family. Thank God Malia and Sasha were born to such intelligent parents instead of half of these dumbazzes up here.
