London – Sometimes
Meet London. A native of Oakland, California, London’s talent for singing was initially discovered as a child when he sang in the church choir. Starting his career off as a rapper didn’t go as planned, so he decided to go back to his roots.
London is currently putting the final touches on his debut album,, and has worked with Rodney Jerkins and popular singer/songwriter Ne-Yo on various songs on the upcoming release. Currently signed to the Universal/Motown imprint, you will definitely be hearing more about London in the near future.
Listen to his song “Sometimes” above, you may have heard it before because it’s been out since last year. & make sure to show him some love on myspace.

Mmmmm not convinced yet…
His voice is nice, but sounds like everything else that’s out. The song is alright.
I know people should not never give up there dreams” but why would anyone wanna waist there time pursuing a music career?? The best singers can’t even go gold anymore” I’m still suprised that as good as jasmine sulliven’s album is,and as good as she can sing, and how they play her 3 singles all day on the radio’ I’m suprised she hasn’t reached gold” homeboy London might as well pack up go back to Cali and enrole in a good trade or go back to school cause this song ain’t gonna cut it and I’m being real”it sound like everything else on the crappy radio.Music will never be the same…..so sad but I listen to 90s and 80s music anyway”
I like his voice. I agree with Miami Mike in regards to the current state of the music industry right now. With that being said, he’s going to need to come with that fire!
Also in accordance with Miami Mike…the reason more talented artists aren’t selling….is simply because their target audience isn’t buying…they’re downloading, burning, or getting it from the corna man!
@ 5 your right” but why is he in the artist spotlight with that piece of crap of a song???? What’s artistic about it?? It’s nothing new, fresh,or diffirent!!! Angel and brian should do a artist throwback spotlight on good ol 90s r&b and hiphop rap albums to atlest inform the young high school teens that come on this site even though I’m 21 how good music once was.
Lola, you’re right. Consumers are much the blame for the state of the music industry. Most of the people who claim they’re so disgusted with today’s music download, burn, and buy bootlegs of the artists who put out good work. I really get sick of these people yapping about music but when the chance presents itself to support artist trying to do the right thing they don’t buy it. And people know downloading is the problem but they keep hiding behind the fact that the quality of music has completely changed. Of course it has but their are still artists who try to put out good music, you just don’t support it.
he has a nice voice but as soon as this song came on i thought neyo and thats NOT a compliment trust…i actually think i would like it if the production didnt sound like some always the same stargate shyt
IM SURPRISED TO HEAR THE MELANCHOLY RESPONSES TO THIS SONG. IM CURIOUS, DID ANYONE LISTEN TO THE LYRICS ? CAN NO ONE RELATE TO WHAT IT’S ABOUT? WHY ANYONE WOULD PURSUE A MUSIC CAREER IS SIMPLE. SOME PEOPLE ARE DRIVEN BY THEIR PASSION AND OTHERS JUST LET THEIR PASSION SUBSIDE AND DECIDE TO FIT IN WITH THE REST OF SOCIETY. SOME PEOPLE JUST ARENT COMFORTABLE DOING ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT THEY KNOW GOD BLESSED THEM TO DO. WHY ANYONE WOULD SUGGEST THAT ANOTHER PERSON SHOULD GIVE UP ON THEIR HEART’S DESIRE BAFFLES ME. WELL, LET ME TAKE THAT BACK. IT DOESN’T BAFFLE ME AT ALL. IF MUSIC IS DULL, I WONDER WHY…RAW EMOTION DOESNT SEEM TO FARE WELL IN R&B NOWADAYS, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW ARTISTS. YET, NI**GAZ LOOOOVE TO TURN THEY SWAG ON, LOL! IM NOT JUDGING ANYONE FOR THEIR OPINION, AND YEA, MAYBE IM SOMEWHAT BIASED BCUZ IM FROM OAKLAND AND I KNOW THE HOMIE PERSONALLY AND IVE HEARD A LOT OF HIS MUSIC. BUT THEN AGAIN, IF I THOUGHT THE SH*T WAS WACK, ID JUST TELL HIM TO HIS FACE.
BUT I DIDNT, SO LET ME SPEAK UP FOR BRA BCUZ I KNOW MUSIC IS THE FOUNDATION OF HIS VERY EXISTENCE, WHERE HE FEELS CLOSEST TO GOD…WHICH MAKES HIM A BETTER ARTIST THAN 90% OF THE ARTISTS MAKIN ALL THE MONEY. HOW, YOU ASK? EASY…HE’S NOT DOING IT FOR THE MONEY OR THE FEMALES, HE’S DOING IT FOR THE LOVE.
“WHEN YOU CHASE MUSIC FOR MONEY, GOD WALKS OUT OF THE ROOM.”
-QUINCY JONES
Hm. I have to say that I am not really sold by this artist either. Not to knock on him or anything but I have to agree with most of the commenters.
@9 Its great that your friend has raw emotions but I don’t think his emotions transcends this song. It does fall flat. Even if you factor in content.
I think the problem is not raw emotions not faring well in R&B like you mentioned but it’s the fact that R&B is so saturated with the “sameness” everyone is approaching R&B in a flat one-dimensional cookie cutter manner. Yes, you have tons of talented and untalented people in the game but their approach is all the same. Same style, same vocalizations, same producers, same image, same same same…of course there are slight variations but you get the pic.
What I would suggest to London is if he is serious about music and has passion for it he should work on diversifying his “raw” passion. Take for example, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga is an artist that exudes her rawness in many forms from her hair, outfits to her sound, image, right down to the lights in her performances. She has these short films that she posts every week on youtube that tracks her journey as an artist. She makes mini films to showcase her vision as an artist. She is also a very talented pianist and vocalist if you look her up on youtube. She is very much aware of her talents and image and when you go to one of her shows its really a performance art piece than a concert. But you get to feel, see , and hear her rawness in many forms that it really is changing the face of pop music.
London’s approach should be authentic and fresh you know something that will change the face of R&B rather than him getting lost in R&B. He can certainly do so if he thinks outside the box and showcase his talents to reach his target audience.
ummmmm… no.
ummm… no.
London sounds a lot like British singer Lemar who by the way is extremely talented.
@3 I understand your point but at the end of the day if talented artists never bothered to pursue their dreams we would never have had Nina Simmone, Ray Charles, Donny Hathaway etc. Nonetheless there is a point where some people should be realistic especially in todays market. Simply put, if your not bringing anything new to the table then please don’t subject the public with rubbish. The sad thing is the media/music industry will promote the hell out of gimmicks and copycats like the Ting Tings, Lada Gaga, Leona, Kate Perry- people who are deliberate clones of other musicians. Since I can’t stand it I just don’t listen to radio, I listen to music from the 40s upwards, with a bit of classical thrown in there, some hip-hop, r&b and alternative.
If London wants to break the contemporary market he needs to avoid sounding like every other black male artist. Why the heck would you work with the same producers everyone else has? Thats why I liKe Alicia keys because she works with people she genuinely admires, she doesn’t just pick the popular producers/songwriters.
I like! Plus he’s from the BAY! I hope he has much success in his career.
he sounds like erybody else….idk…nothing amazing to me…no telling what can happen in the future though. Big Sean is dope though
I knew London back when he used to sing at the stoop of the student center at my school. He has definetly come a long way–left school to pursue music and is obviously moving forward in some aspect. Many people could only wish to see their career begin to pick up. It’s hard to be a legitimate artist in this manufactured society in which we live. I miss his old sound–a little more gritty and raw, but nonetheless big ups to *London! Love ya! LA
Awwww….Noel is getting some shine. I love it =o)
i like the song…. he sounds kinda like ruben studdard!!! crazy!!! the boy is saf (sexy as f***) though!!!… i’d do him!!! lmmfao!!!! i’d do ruben too!!! he’s so sexy with his big marshmallow ass!!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmm good!!! love it!!!
I like the song!
His voice has quality but the lyrics don’t. I mean it’s relatable but there’s nothing original about it. Maybe I would feel slightly different if the delivery was better. Oh and I agree w/ #3 about the music industry right now BUT if being a music artist is what you wanna do, you should do it no matter what. Don’t do it w/o a back-up plan tho lol.
I love his voice, although it sounds like people already out, it’s still good.
Song is tight, he kind of sounds like Mario, but a matured version somehow.
I guess I like it. The song will be a hit
London is a cool dude…..Can we all just stop haten…..Just because he’s following he’s dreams and most of us are scared to even think about pursing are passion cause were stuck @ a 9 to 5 just to pay bills….He took a risk and his doing the damn thang….
He didnt even sing yet and it sound just like everything else on the radio nowadays.
London is a brilliantly talented artist. Sometimes is the raw truth in a beautiful artist expression. It’s unfortunate that so many people in this world are too lame and weak minded for the truth! A message to the haters: Thank you for supporting London’s talent. Without you there would be no reason to soar into the heights of success. Keep doing ya thang London. People need to hear this kind of truth.
hmmm, heard it before.
I been listening to London since last year. He got some real nice tracks…….DOWNLOAD/LISTEN TO “JUICY”……Its London ft.Young Dro…..its a definite banger!!!!!!
I’m a dj & I like the song primarily for the lyrics & what it’s about. As a man I can identify with the subject matter. No one has a song (lyrically speaking) like that out right now.
He aiight!
I Love Mr. London!! Keep doing your thing babe! Tell your people you want me as your stylist. LOL! Your favorite girl!!
It’s a cute song and I definitely can hear Ne-yo’s influence. The song is not necessarily memorable but it’s nice and he has tons of potential…I can see him being successful
yeah when the music came on it reminded me of neyo’s work
I like the song
Another good one from this kid, looking forward to the album. All the people above me talking about the state of music, blah blah. Those are the people in life that don’t accomplish shit anyway, they have to much fear. London if you dont sell 20K copies you still can tell your kids “I did that”, so do you
YOu can tell this is a Ne-Yo song and produced by Stargate…and I’m loving it.
I’ve heard songs from him that were ok and I hope they are scratched, but the one that’s caught my attention was “One Too Many” and I think I will definitely be on the look out for dude’s album
