The performance with Beyonce and Hugh Jackman was amazing. You have to have skill to do something like that and only Bee could have did it like that. That is not easy to do, lip singing or not. Beyonce performance with Hugh Jackman was just superbly great and for me an appreciative positive moment for black folk.
If she lip sync it was because many of the songs were old numbers which Bey may not have known the words to and they wanted the performance to be perfect. Face it , it was the academy awards and not some talent show in the hood.

Queen Latifah’s performance was great, it was very touching. I had no idea she had a voice like that, she could give some of these “music” industry girls a few lessons on how to sing in key, hold a damn note and not use a million vocal mellismas!

Why were Vola and Taraj robbed?

For real, Viola was only in about 10 minutes of Doubt…and Taraji…Benjamin Button was good, but she really was the traditional “Black woman caretaker” role…I don’t discount her talent, but that needs to be a deeper role to win the Oscar… I feel like Viola would have won if her part was longer…and Taraji would have won if her part was more tortured.

Stage presentation was really nice, especially during the set/costume design parts…the actors category presentation were very creative and well done. LOL @ the critique of musicals tribute…even the choreographer was like, “eh” when they panned to him at the end. Was Rent mentioned during that though?

Also, why didn’t they mention Eartha Kitt at the review of people who died in the last year?

I really enjoyed how they had all the past winners of the awards present the awards to the night winners. I think they should do it all the time. It adds a bit more of a show to the night.

Jeebus black people wanna bicker about stupid things relating to the Oscar’s and not the important stuff. In India people are celebrating Slumdog’s big win not only because it’s to do with their country but it’s actually relevant to the Oscar’s itself!

Beyonce wow’ed everyone last night as usual. She never lets teh crowd down. She is the queen od POP and R&B. Didnt like the red acrpet dress too much, BUT in all BEYONCE ROCKS!!!!

I thought the show was very entertaining!

Don’t you know by now Beyonce does what she wants to do because she can.
The dress was supposed to get people talking… and so it did. (not a favorite) She brought out Sasha Fierce to the red carpet.

What is this whole thing about her lip syncing… (they all were) We all know Beyonce can sing her ass off, so why get all pumped up. I think people just want to see her fail but those who feel that way only make her stronger

No matter how many times Beyonce adds or change direction to her career for the better people will have something to say.

She is proving that she can be and do anything she wants. WHY CAN’T PEOPLE LEARN FROM THAT????????
At this point of her career she is working because she is having fun and this is what she loves to do, not because she needs a check.
She is set for life!

WE ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE THIS A BEYONCE POST.

TOO LATE!

Queen Latifah rocked last night, her voice is beautiful

I like Heidi Klum dress

Halle, she looked beautifl as always, but however I did not like her wig either

Ben Stillman was funny as heck, the whole segment was hilarious

Taraji looked very nice, as well as Viola

Beyonce, another day, another way

If you have not seen them yet, go see Slum Dog, and Benjamin Buttons, two really good movies

I enjoyed the Oscars because I was twittering the entire night with some people over at yfb.
Beyonce– liked the performance hated her dress it would be a nice bed spread though
Alicia- Didn’t like the wig but liked her presentations
Will Jada Halle Gabriel Brand and Angie all look good last night
I am going to check out some of the those winning movies this week.

beyonce Everything she does is so vapid and contrived…

I can go all day because I can and I look good too, lol.

The stans are crazy…how many times do they want people to say she’s attractive or she can sing.

Point taken now move on. When people talk/critique her performacnces they come running out the woodwork w/hate this, hate that.

Different performance/event - same hunching, weave packing, hollaring Bey.

My best friend is gorgeous and gets upset when people tell her she looks like Bey - like its a compliment.

They look nothing alike - at all.

She has a wonderful body, speaks well, is educated, doesn’t wear makeup, has gorgeous hair (her own baby hairs, lol) and is a true lady.

She’s older than her and barely listens to her music, so why make a comparison?

She nor I see it.

Now back to these stans….

I think if people had something going on in their life or had close friends and family that were successful and attractive they wouldn’t like her to the point of sounding like a stalker.

As for men, its sad - they act as though they’ve never seen a beautiful, natural, attractive woman - I’m like “What do they think of their wives/girlfriends?” still they’re responses are:

That doesn’t mean anything if somebody want to fk you and not every woman strives for that.

People need to get out more. Most of her stans are ghetto from what I’ve seen and celebs patronize each other when they’re hot or on top.
