With speculation of a relationship between the two, it seems very interesting that Christina Milian would announce that she has just inked a new deal with The Dream to join his Radio Killa Records imprint.
“We just signed an acquisition deal with Christina Milian on Radio Killa Records, so I’m trying to put my heart into it and make sure I deliver her the same records I gave everybody else,” The Dream exclusively told Rap-Up.com.
Milian boasts that the she, Tricky and The Dream have wonderful chemistry in the studio and says she feels comfortable working with the hitmakers because they understand the opposite sex.
“The forces have been brought together,” adds Milian. “Now my album’s not only on MySpace, but it’s actually a Radio Killa/Interscope/MySpace combination. I’m working currently with Dream and also with Tricky Stewart, making fire, heat right now!”
Hmmm. Interesting. Perhaps these two will give Christina Milian the push she needs. Another failed album after so much money into a project would not be a good look.
LIL’ WAYNE’S THE REBIRTH DELAYED + MORE NEWS
It seems that even the best selling artist of 2008 can’t get a break. Lil’ Wayne, who is prepping his new rock album, The Rebirth has suffered an inevitable pushback. The album, lead by the Shanell-penned first single, “Prom Queen,” was originally set for release on April 7th, but will release sometime in May.
No need to worry, though, Lil’ Wayne has some more news. The rapper-turned-rocker also announced that he will release Tha Carter IV in December, just in time for the holidays.
In other news, Lil’ Wayne is currently shooting the video for “Prom Queen” in Los Angeles and his hometown of New Orleans. It is set to debut within the next couple of weeks. I’m interested to see what the concept of the video will be. Like I said, I dig the song, I just am not sure how I feel about this new direction.
NAS & DAMIAN MARLEY PREP ALBUM
Last week, rapper Nas revealed to Billboard.com that he is currently recording a joint album with reggae star Damian Marley. The pair recorded quietly in Los Angeles for the last several weeks. Nas’ manager, Anthony Saleh, tells Billboard the project will most likely be released in the spring. It’s not clear which label will release it; Nas is signed to Def Jam, while Marley records for Universal.
“We’ve been recording in a studio, where people like Mick Jagger are recording. No one knew who we were,” Saleh says. “We’re going to Miami this week to finish it up and we’re aiming to tour for the album this summer.”
In addition to its regular incarnation, the album may also be released in a special edition exclusively through Best Buy or Target. A portion of the proceeds will go toward building a school in Africa, though details are still being solidified.
Seriously Christina needs 2 call it a wrap.
On the direction of Lil Wayne’s album, I think it’s interesting that just a few years ago the whole hip-hop community frowned upon rappers doing any kind of singing. Many condemed it and even called it rap and bull****. Yet now everybody from Snoop, to Kanye, to Lil Wayne are all going this route.

Guess wat guys….I actually purchase Milians second album, it was pretty decent. Althought I do not feel she will ever make it. I dnt understand why tho, people just never got into her.
I can explain to you all once and for all why Miss Milian never “got on” in the music industry, but I will do it briefly and everyone can add their two cents. Let’s see, there’s already a light skinned beautifully talented mega-star, her name is Beyonce, so Milian got knocked down a notch. Beyonce can sing, write, dance, act, and the list goes on. Then, we have underdog queen Rihanna, she just shut the pop thing down this past year, so that knocks Milian down again. Then we have people in her vocal range like Ashanti and Ciara, but where Ashanti is concerned she had a strong affiliation with Murder Inc. who was SMOKIN hot when she first came out, so she had a strong promotional team. As for Ciara (WHO I STAN FOR), the girl can sing, write, produce, and DANCE HER BUTT OFF, and that again, drops Milian to the bottom of the list. I could list countless other Rnb female singers but I won’t. Milian definitely has her work cut out for her!

Why does it seem like Christina Milian is bouncing from man to man to get her career re-started? First Dre and now the Dream, she just needs to give it up…I don’t think she’s gonna do that well on his label because he has that group Electrik Red on it and they’re giving chicks a run for their money(in the looks and attitude department)

Not only is she messing up her career/reputation but she had one of the hottest guys on the planet (I think tied w/Brad for the hottest) ready to like propose to her at the top of the year but since he got a very painful and disturbing phone call on the 28th of last month he’s been pretty much over her.
He really loved her too, I remember around june/july of last year he saw her looking upset and was really worried about her and he looked like a sad puppy for like three weeks until he saw she was okay. It was soo cute but it would make you cry if you looked at him.
Christina-Hmm.. I don’t know.. I’ve always liked her and her singles, but the problem with her is that she isn’t consistent with putting out a strong single right after the lead single to convince you to buy album. She’s got to keep a momentum going if she’s trying to do better than she’s done in the past. She seems like a nice person and can sing, she has the looks so who knows this might be a breakthrough album for her. Well at least I hope so for her sake, I feel the same way about Kelly Rowland. She’s on an independent label working with two of today’s biggest producers, there’s no setbacks or excuses this time. Good luck to her.
Lil Wayne-He needs a break and come back as The Carter II Wayne. This mumbling, auto tune rock mess isn’t going to cut it. I knew this “rock” album was gonna get pushed back, because of that garbage Prom Queen song failed to be a hit. I guess his fans aren’t that much of gullible bandwagoners like I thought after all.
Nas and Damian-This sounds like it’s going to be a hot concept. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

@ 20 my thing is….Christina and Ashanti was featured firstly on Jah Rules singles. Out of the two, I always thought Christina would have been the biggest star. I don’t see how Ashanti blown up over her….not that I don;t like Ashanti but Milian is equally pretty, if not prettier, she can sing and dance just as good.
I just feel people never gave her a chance. She really tried tho, esspecially with Dip it low.

Christina does seem to be jumping from man to man in order to boost her career but she doesn’t get that these men will use her more than she could ever use them because they can promise her hit songs but there is no guarantee these songs will take off.
Christina is just mediocre overall:
she’s pretty in a cutesy kind of way but not striking- there are a million girls who look like her.
Her voice is just ordinary and even annoying at times
Her dancing is also just average and her personality is lacking
There is nothing that screams star potential about her and she’s bringing nothing new to the game.
Furthermore she hasn’t got a solid fanbase to pull her through, ultimately this affects album sales.
I just don’t think she’ll do well for soo many reasons. I’m not hating, just stating my observation. I would never want to buy her album, she is pretty much talentless imo.
Girls like Christina and Mya need to give it up because there is noone checking for them, they offer nothing new to the music industry.
