R&B singer Mario exclusively spoke to Concrete Loop about the recent leak of one of his demo tracks, “Emergency Room.”
The song is titled as featuring Rihanna but Mario wanted to clear the air:
“This was a rough cut that I was working on and wanted to present it to Rihanna and her record label. Those aren’t Rihanna’s vocals on the song at all.
The record was far from done. I’m still proud of the record but want to make sure that the truth is out there.”
Initially, Mario’s reps confirmed to Concrete Loop that it was Rihanna’s vocals & stated:
“It’s a demo record, not Mario’s official single and it was not supposed to be leaked at all and we are wondering who leaked it.”
Mario has been working hard on his upcoming album release, tentatively titled, And Then There Was Me and is expected to drop it later on this year.
J. HOLIDAY REVEALS ALBUM COVER
J. Holiday reveals the album cover for his sophomore album, Round 2, the follow-up to his 2007 debut, Back of My ‘Lac, which released two very successful singles, including the summer hit, “Bed.”
Round 2 is led by the first single, “It’s Yours” and is set to hit stores March 10th.
JIMMY JAM CONFIRMS WORKING WITH JANET
It seems as though producer Jimmy Jam, one half of the legendary production duo known as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis has confirmed that they are working again with Janet Jackson on her follow-up album to last year’s Discipline. This marks the first time that Janet will have worked with the duo since 20 Y.O., the album where most feel Janet strayed away from her roots.
This is interesting news, considering that Janet was released from her contract at Island Def Jam. I’d like to see what else this means for Janet’s upcoming project. I’m glad that she’s reuniting with these two. They have a chemistry that’s undeniable.

The vocals for the hook on the track “Emergency Room” are by Priscilla Renea. She wrote/co-wrote the song for Rihanna to sing, but I’m guessing there have been some adjustments to where now the song belongs to Mario, and may feature Rihanna. If you don’t know about Priscilla Renea, please google/youtube her. She’s a fantastic singer and song writer.
The Mario song would’ve been better if Rihanna was singing the verses, like the ORIGINAL demo. She could’ve had another hit on her hands!
This song emergency is a Riri track ft. Akon. I downloaded it about a month ago!!!! So how are they worried about the demo leaked when the real song did some time ago… I listen to this on my ipod all the time!!!!!
I’m happy that Priscilla Renae has done well for herself, she’s come from youtube to writing for big singers, there’s a song she wrote (can’t remember the name and its amazing! she neds to release it as her solo single- if she ever has one).
Thank God Janet is working with Jimmy Jam! She needs to stick to making classic, mature music and not try and sing these cookie cutter songs. There is no point trying to target the teen audience, when your fanbase is 21+. I hope her next album has more mature and meaningful songs like Anytime Anyplace, Love will never do etc
Mario and J Holiday should make a song together. Rihanna kinda ruins the song with Mario. They make a cute couple though.
Discipline was SLEPT ON!! It was her best album in years and it didn’t deserve to flop.
But Jimmy Jam/Janet should be great again, hopefully.

For the people who actually think it’s Rihanna singing the song I think you need to wash out your ears, it obvious it isn’t Rihanna singing, I really believe it Priscilla singing the song, the only thing i don’t understand is that in the song she singing: ‘ my girl saying ‘RiRi’ ; I guess the song was written for Rihanna or was going to be released and sung by Rihanna, but it leaked to early; I feel sorry for Priscilla that everyone who uploaded the song titled the song by Rihanna and Akon instead of priscilla and Akon..

Hopefully Rihanna’s not on the final cut. For a duet to actually work you need BOTH artists to actually SING. Rihanna wouldn’t be able to keep up with Mario.
As was mentioned the voice is Priscillar Renee’s and she wrote this song. Perhaps Mario HELPED but she didn’t write this on him own. She even discusses it on her Youtube. Concreteloop, you need to give credit where credit is due.

I was wondering why the post with “Emergency Room” suddenly disappeared, this obviously has something to do with it. Anyway, I’m luvin this song, so mad I’m just now hearing it, being that this is Rihanna’s song, been out since December. Rihanna recorded this song with somebody called Ray L. And Mario is lying, that is Rihanna on the track, he just used her hook. Honestly like Rihanna’s version better.
Can’t wait for the new Janet album!!! I wonder what label she is goin to. I hope this new album puts her back on the top of the charts!!!
